T O P I C R E V I E WEmsieA few days ago I had another weird dream, this time with a person whom I've been interested in for a while now, and we've been talking to each other online for 2 years now. However, I haven't met this person in person yet I may not remember every single detail of my dream. So, in my dream I stand with this person in a kitchen, we're having fun. Turns out, we're baking chocolate muffins which have molten chocolate filling. Then, I travel on a train with some people in our capital city. Suddenly, the train gets into a lighter storm which produces a not so serious tornado. The tornado can't reach the train, but winds blow the end of the train off the rails, so the train stops. I hold my mobile phone in my arms to call for help if something serious happens. Out of nowhere I notice at least 7 (most probably) men in masks running towards me, and I feel I need to get my stuff as soon as possible and escape. While I run, I switch off my phone and pick my SIM, SD cards and the battery out of it, because I don't want them to be stolen from me. Then, I find myself in my hometown. I notice a hidden press office full of newspapers where I try to hide, but those men find me at the end. They try to catch me, but all they can do is to watch me from the street through the glass.AyeletHi Emsie,I would interpret your dream as two dreams. The first has to do with the relationship you're having with the person you met on-line. The baking muffins together is friendly, perhaps even sensual, and symbolizes your hopes from this connection.Your second dream has to do with you coping in a state of danger. You are trying to get somewhere and caught in a storm, that stops you. Then you are chased by a bunch of masked men, and you run away, disconnecting the parts of your mobile phone. You are trying to guard your personal information. Think: What is it you are trying to save? What private information you fear might be taken away from you? At the end you find shelter at a press office in your hometown. Perhaps your hometown provides you with a certain sense of security. But newspapers publish information - could it be that, by making something public, you keep it alive, and so save it from being "stolen"? Can you identify the way in which you protect yourself by being both exposed and sheltered at the same time?EmsieI tried to think hard about the second part of this dream. I am talking to this guy via fb about confidential things, but maybe this can also involve my fb account itself. It is so private that I even have a pseudonym, because I don't want unnecessary negative people to find me. In this way I feel more protected and better that others don't bother me.AyeletThen perhaps your FB account is the link between the two parts of the dream... and things that you tell that person are the property/information you wish to guard.RaI second that. EmsieI really feel when I am talking to this person, it gives me hope, but at the same time he disappears for weeks, so every time I feel like I am getting slightly robbed. Maybe the group of robbers is actually him, and the glass wall is the wall he sets up, distance - literally, too. Like he is watching me from the outside, but won't thread behind those walls for whatever reason, although he could if he really wanted.AyeletThen maybe you feel he is "robbing" you of your info while not giving enough of himself, and staying at a distance. It seems like the pieces come together when you think about it. The first scene could relate to your feelings toward that person or hopes you are nurturing. The rest might have to do with other emotions coming to play, as you've described.
