Betty Boop | What do you trust? Lets say you have a particular transit – like Mercury retrograde (lets go with that, since it is happening now) -- and maybe you have a strong feeling that signing a particular contract or communicating with a new person … (or anything else Mercury related – taking a short trip etc) --- is the right thing to do for you – not later, not in a month’s time – but now. Would you go with your gut feeling – or would you listen to a Sue Miller type interpretation telling you to wait until the retrograde is over? This is not only about Mercury Retro.. It could be about any transit or any aspect in general…. A situation where – what you are advised to do by an astrologer is very different to what you believe and feel you should be doing deep down (regardless of transits or anything else). |
curbro | I'd pray, listen, then go with my intuition. Astrology offers exceptional insight but I can't let it run my life. |
Lonake | Gut feeling, always. And if something didnt pan out the way i thought it would then sometimes i look at the astro. but that's after the fact, like a car accident, i look at the astro afterwards just to learn. |
pisces moon | I use astrology as a tool after the fact. I will decide something and if I'm not clear on how to go about it, I'll use astrology as an aide in figuring out the best approach. I never let astrology tell me what I should or shouldn't do. |
JohnFKennedy | Sometimes if I'm TOO enthusiastic about a certain situation, I'll stop myself and see if anything pivotal is retrograding. The only time I stop in my tracks is when Venus is in retrograde - two miserable experiences have resulted in that so far by "ignoring" it and not taking proper precautions. I usually find Mercury retrogrades smooth sailing, though. I'd say go with your gut, but if something does feel a little iffy, then there's nothing wrong with taking things slow. |
Lucia23 | Gut feeling! There are so many different interpretations of astrological influences...the entire rest of the galaxy during every Merc Rx or any other transit will be different each day than ever before in our lives... Everything other than my gut, I reserve for when my gut is silent or neutral and I need help making a decision. if my gut has a plan, it's never failed me. |
Lioness | I personally dont let things like that effect my decisions. I do what I feel is best for me.. Everything happens for a reason! Since you use Merc Rx as an example.. I bought a microwave during the last one, and it still works (knock on wood) |
blugrey | I dunno. I've never really identified with the whole Merc Rx thing cuz I have that in my natal chart. But I think you should follow your intuition. Think about it for a while and just whatever your voice tells you to do, but consider the consequences first. I dunno. I usually don't follow and regret it later, so I think just going for it is better! |
dysfunctionalmystic | I think we do want we want to do but the astrology usually plays out to be right. I ignore astrology and I even ignore my gut instincts sometimes. Instincts are great but we can't always be sure of what it's saying, we interpret through the mind which will always interfere with the message to some degree.

Ami Anne | I would not make a move until they were in sync. I think both are never wrong,if you could say that. Your gut, virtually,is never wrong. Astrology, virtually is never wrong. That leaves oneself who is falliable. We are an earthen vessel subject to all kinds of things hitting us from the outside and the inside. We are ,largely, driven by our ego's If time would allow,I would wait until my gut came in to sync with the chart. If I HAD to make a choice, then and there, I would choose gut. ------------------ Jesus never put his trust in man cuz he knew what was in man. Anglerfish | I'm going to apply for a job while merc is rx in my 6th, but it's a temp until September. So I'm not bothered since it's not a permanent thing, otherwise I'd be concerned. ------------------ He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster.
