T O P I C R E V I E WRunAroundScreamingI was thinking about this, and this is what it feels like the chinese signs really correspond to. Tell me what you think.A snake is obviously a libra (vain, wise, philosophical, lazy, absolutely beautiful, hypersensitive, needs harmony at all costs, loves to show off her charm and needs people, logical and analytical but needy), the pig a cancer (the opposite of libra: hates vanity or waste of any kind, both are very indecisive, pig is very naive and likes to believe everyone is good at heart in the end), the goat pisces the dreamer (totally unrealistic, uber shy, very kind to everyone), the ox taurus (hard workers, stubborn, likes routine, quiet and shy), the rabbit capricorn (unaffectionate, cold, philosophical, but sensitive on the inside, a humorous person but can be really antisocial and have a stubborn/insensitive streak), the rooster virgo (workaholic, demanding perfectionist, plain-looking), the tiger gemini (naive, childlike, always energetic), the horse sagittarius (duh) (arrogant, impul sive, always making jokes), the dragon aries, (go getter, larger than life, and very confident and guys are very masculine, wants to dominate) the monkey aquarius (always joking and on the move, stubborn and opinionated, a rebel), the dog leo (loyal, critical or bossy, and friendly, and has a generous heart and a sense of pride) and the rat scorpio (appears cold, calculating and weird or just plain creepy, hard to get to know, not great with peop le but can be witty and charming nevertheless, though they seem mean and sneaky) I have a hard time deciding if a rooster is more of a scorpio though. According to astrologizeme.com they have sadistic tendencies and very love/hate attitudes, and also they are people of extremes, everything is either black or white. The dog definitely doesnt seem like a leo to me. But that's the only one that was left lol. The dog seems more like a capricorn because they criticize everything on its morality and have a stern serious demeanor, and have a hard time expressing feelings. But in real life the persoanlity of the animal (dog) is most like leo to me. But i guess dogs really arent like the actual animal. Dogs, the animal, are a ray of sunshine like leos are.::shrugs::i think i will switch these two. It says roosters are not shy or discreet, and modesty is not their strongest virtue. And that dogs blush when someone gives them a compliment. So i think the rooster is best as a scorpio, and the dog is best as a virgo. The dog is considered to be the most critical sign of the chinese zodiac, so it fits well.KarkaQueenRat - SagittariusOx - CapricornTiger - AquariusRabbit - PiscesDragon - AriesSnake - TaurusHorse - GeminiGoat - CancerMonkey - LeoRooster - VirgoDog - LibraPig - ScorpioRunAroundScreamingi Know those are the traditional associations, but I just can't see the pig as scorpio, The rat as sagittarius, the rabbit as pisces, or the tiger as aquarius, and the snake seems much more of a libra to me than a taurus. I'm a snake.Tigers are warm, expressive and personal, while aquariuses seem cold distant and impersonal, though humorous. The snake is perhaps a bit too clingy and emotional and personal to be a detached libra, but every other quality matches so well to the extravagant, kind, and sophisticated libra that i cant ignore it. The rabbit is really cold and unaffectionate, and in fact seems almost like they are a lot more cerebral than emotional, though they arent really. Think of what a rabbit or cat looks like, with that blank expression in their eyes. That doesnt make me think pisces at all. And rabbits are nowhere near as big of dreamers as pisces are. The pig is almost exactly like a cancer, and o thinkthe goat fits pisces much better. The reason for the traditional association must be because each sign in western astrology has to stay in its element. They are very focused on global issues, more than anything... environmental issues, animal rights, human rights... Just look up some famous tigers lol Faith quote:Originally posted by Seimei:there is NO CORRELATION , I fail to understand why everyone wants to create oneout of nothing I perceive a correlation, and in some ways, I can better understand a Western sign by thinking of it in terms of its corresponding Chinese sign. For instance, Taurus = Snake. I used to agree with the correspondencies, but now I think it's more complicated than that. In relation to the rabbit, in particular, deep inside they are cold and they don't give that much affection genuinely. I don't see Pisces like that. With Rabbit I think of an Air sign, probably Aquarius or Libra. I hadn't thought of Capricorn, but it kind of makes sense.Tiger is supposed to be Aquarius, but more courageous and proud, so I'd say a mixture of Aqua, Gemini and Leo..I can totally see the Pig as Cancer (they are very nurturing ), the goat as Pisces, the rooster as Virgo, the horse as Sagittarius, the dragon as Aries. Somehow I see the Monkey more like Gemini and the Tiger more like Leo. I think of the Dog as Libra. And how about the Ox as Scorpio, I think they are very sensitive deep inside.SikandaSorry, double post.SeimeiIn relation to the rabbit, in particular, deep inside they are cold and they don't give that much affection genuinely, But which rabbit, there is more that one Rabbit ,there is more than one OX and so on,there are not twelve,, but 60.12 x 5 A fire chicken has diff personality than a wood chicken. and so on,, Additionally in Chinese astrology they do not consider the person to be the YEAR, but the day. Seimei I know about that, and I've read about the Chinese horoscope if that was meant for me... In this case I was talking about a fire Rabbit and yes, I'm aware there are different elements and they affect signs in different ways. Also I was just talking about the Chinese year sign in general, although I know there's the month, day and hour sign.Probably the most accurate thing to do about the Chinese zodiac, to make it more accurate, would be to join the influence of our Western and Chinese signs together. I was refering to a Gemini Rabbit. He is very earthy, not prone to be sentimental or express feelings (but sensitive) and very sensible (that's why I thought Capricorn very fitting for it). But of course I know I'm generalising. Still I work with groups of people (kids) of different ages and you can pinpoint traits that are only appliable to that group and often common to all of them, such as being hardworking, perfectionist, nurturing or sensitive. So probably that's what the 'year sign' refers to, even if people born during the same year don't notice it.Faith Rabbits are cold?Well, Pisces is accused of being cold, too.Loving in "too universal" a way. quote:Anyone trying to make a correlation but has never even read 5 real pages on Chinese astrology is acting un-intelligently.To me, the reading is not the actual "school."It's paying attention to real life.Noticing how the Years work.I've read books on Chinese astrology. Not sure if they count as "real"?But one doesn't need the details to accept the basics.
