T O P I C R E V I E Wplanet9A few weeks ago I posted a link to a page providing a free 20-day personal planetary transits report. My email client stupidly inserted a 3-byte unicode character into the URL, result being that the URL didn't work. So here it is again: http://www.planetary-aspects.com/opt2/main.php For those who haven't a clue what a 'personal planetary transit' is, here's a short intro. You know what conjunctions, trines, squares, etc. are in your natal chart. Well, the planets kept moving after you were born and they regularly form more conjunctions, trines, squares, etc. among themselves. These are called, for the duration of the period in which they last, 'world transits'. Several simultaneous world transits may make up an 'aspect pattern', as when we have four planets at the corners of a square (four square aspects), and two pairs of opposites, making a 'grand cross'. We have one forming now (Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter and Mars), and it will peak on April 23rd, just as (maybe) war breaks out between Russia and NATO (good timing, no?), or if not war then a bloodbath as the Kiev neo-Nazis hunt down and kill all the Russians and pro-Russia sympathizers in Eastern Ukraine that they can find (you won't see this on CNN).So the moving planets can also form squares, trines, etc., with the planets in your natal chart. For the duration of these aspects these are called 'personal planetary transits'. They depend on a birth date, of course, but do not depend on place of birth or a on particular zodiac (still less on some 'house system').So at the page I mentioned you can plug in your birth date and time and it will tell you which planets form aspects with your natal planets during the next 20 days (with beginning and ending, if within that period). There's also a longer report available (not free), which is accessible at http://www.planetary-aspects.com/opt3/pptr.php This report also includes a day-by-day report of personal transits, for example (for a person with a certain birth date):2014-04-01: Me-tri-Ma Ve-tri-Ju2014-04-02: Su-sxt-Ur2014-04-03: Su-sxt-Ur2014-04-04: Su-sxt-Ur Su-con-Ve2014-04-05: Su-tri-Mo Su-con-Ve2014-04-06: Su-tri-Mo Su-con-Ve Su-sqr-Sa Ma-sqr-Ma2014-04-07: Su-tri-Mo Su-sqr-Ma Su-sqr-Sa Ma-sqr-Ma2014-04-08: Me-con-Su Su-sqr-Ma Su-sqr-Sa Ma-sqr-Ma Ma-sqr-Sa2014-04-09: Me-con-Su Su-sqr-Ma Ur-sxt-Ur Ma-sqr-Ma Ma-sqr-Sa2014-04-10: Me-con-Su Su-sqr-Ma Ur-sxt-Ur Ma-sqr-Ma Ma-sqr-Sa Me-con-Me2014-04-11: Me-con-Me Me-opp-Ne Ur-sxt-Ur Ma-sqr-Ma Ma-sqr-Saand so onSo watch those personal transits roll by and catch the wave(s)!planet9Curious that this post has received no comment. May I conclude either that (a) almost no-one here understands what a 'personal planetary transit' is (despite the brief explanation I gave) and how they might be effected by them or (b) most people here understand but are simply not interested in personal planetary transits (despite now having a free tool to know which of them are now in effect or soon will be)?Astro keenplanet9I believe there are various sites that give transits and some do with explanations. Personally, I find the one below more helpful, as it adds a short explanation for each transit, or else I wouldn't know what they mean. http://grupovenus.com/infoi.asp EllynlvxI usually do them for people here, when my computer is cooperating. Most of the the people here actually have a One-Year Forecast that gives them Progressions and Eclipses, etc, somewhere in their files.planet9Thanks to Astro Keen for the link to the Venus Group's website.I note that at this site a report of personal planetary transits is not free but requires a donation -- except for transits of outer planets to natal planets. However, that report is unreliable. For example, consider someone born on June 11, 1973 at noon in London, UK. The Venus Group reports that:1. Jupiter is exactly conjunct with natal Mercury on April 15, 2014, but the correct date and time of the exact conjunction is April 9, 2014, 16:37 GMT. 2. Neptune is exactly trine to natal Venus on April 20, 2014, but the correct date and time of the exact conjunction is April 22, 2014, 04:10 GMT. 3. Neptune is exactly trine to natal Venus on April 20, 2014, but the correct date and time of the exact conjunction is April 22, 2014, 04:10 GMT. 4. Pluto is exactly opposite to natal Mercury on July 7, 2014, but the correct date and time of the exact conjunction is July 5, 2014, 02:27 GMT. 5. Pluto is exactly square to natal Moon on July 25, 2014, but the correct date and time of the exact conjunction is July 28, 2014, 03:58 GMT. 6. Neptune is exactly square to natal Neptune on August 28, 2014, but the correct date and time of the exact conjunction is September 17, 2014, 20:21 GMT.I'm sure, however, that people will say that they aren't much concerned about the dates being a few days or weeks off, but what's important is the interpretation of the transit as it affects the person, and the Venus Group does provide a rather detailed interpretation. For example, under "Jupiter Conjunction Mercury" we read "You can see things from a broader perspective than usual at this time. You can see the big picture clearly, and you better appreciate how your personal activities, interests, and goals fit into the needs of society as a whole. ..."But I ask, seriously, what basis do you have for believing the Venus Group's interpretation of the transits? Is it possible that a different 'Group' might provide a quite different interpretation? If you regard a particular interpretation as credible, is this just a matter of faith? If we are unable to intepret personal transits for ourselves, do we just have to accept whatever some astrological 'Group' tells us? If so, why should we do that? Is there, perhaps, some advantage to doing so?planet9Sorry, I got the aspect names for the exact aspects wrong -- due to careless copying and pasting. The above should read:The Venus Group reports that:1. Jupiter is exactly conjunct with natal Mercury on April 15, 2014, but the correct date and time of the exact conjunction is April 9, 2014, 16:37 GMT.2. Neptune is exactly trine to natal Venus on April 20, 2014, but the correct date and time of the exact trine is April 22, 2014, 04:10 GMT..3. Pluto is exactly opposite to natal Mercury on July 7, 2014, but the correct date and time of the exact opposition is July 5, 2014, 02:27 GMT.4. Pluto is exactly square to natal Moon on July 25, 2014, but the correct date and time of the exact square is July 28, 2014, 03:58 GMT.5. Neptune is exactly square to natal Neptune on August 28, 2014, but the correct date and time of the exact square is September 17, 2014, 20:21 GMT.
