Belage | Wow. Just wow. Took me places I had not expected. |
Chanterelle | You know what? I actually used toilet paper hoarding as an example when asking a question in an economics class over a decade ago. The question being, specifically, just how big of a discount is required to convince people that it’s worth buying and storing a whole closet’s worth at once? About a year ago, American farmers were dumping a million gallons of unsellable milk in the ground... and the year before that, many of them were going bankrupt from catastrophic flooding while foreign corporations got billions of dollars in government subsidies. So I’m not the slightest bit surprised that Trump would still be considered a hot commodity by those who would like us all to think of people as commodities. |
Randall | This video has more truth in four minutes than any video I have ever seen. |
Voix_de_la_Mer | Thanks for the fright of my effing life Randall!! Didn't get past the first 4 seconds. I hate horror - I've been scared enough in my life ------------------ "But you, my daughter, you will linger on in darkness and in doubt, as nightfall in winter that comes without a star. Here you will dwell, bound to your grief, under the fading trees, until all the world is changed and the long years of your life are utterly spent." |
Randall | That wasn’t really horror. It is saying that those who hoard toilet paper are zombies. You should watch the rest. |
Chanterelle | I turned the volume down and went outside and watched the whole thing... powering past the necrotic zombie flesh, that last bit really was a bit vertigo-inducing. |

There were zombies in this world looooong before the toilet paper hoarders And this is horror to me! No way I am watching the rest, I get nightmares from stuff like that. ------------------ "But you, my daughter, you will linger on in darkness and in doubt, as nightfall in winter that comes without a star. Here you will dwell, bound to your grief, under the fading trees, until all the world is changed and the long years of your life are utterly spent." |
Randall | People wearing make-up pushing shopping carts filled with toilet paper causes nightmares? I guess you don't celebrate Halloween. |
teasel | So it’s mocking people who take a pandemic seriously? |
Randall | If that's the message you got, you are truly clueless, but I actually expected as much. |

I don't watch zombie movies either but it was not really about that, as I found out after I watched past the first 4-5 seconds.

mirage29 | Some people nick themselves while shaving, and press tiny pieces of toilet paper on their cuts to stop any bleeding. I guess those zombies never learned the various uses for toilet paper. They really should have wrapped themselves in long pieces to protect those oozing open sores. |

You think I didn’t get the message from the thread itself? I didn't hoard toilet paper, though. |
Randall | The video has almost nothing to do with hoarding or zombies. |

Yeah, I was forced to watch horror films as a child because one of my so-called caregivers liked the power it gave them to scare me. I had nightmares about Freddie Krueger right into my teens. Last halloween I was a day of the dead cat. The scariest thing I have dressed up as was a vampire's victim at age 7. The true spirit of halloween has nothing to do with horror and scary things, unless you find the spirit world scary? It's only scary in the modernised bastardisation of halloween. It was originally harvest time and a time to connect with ancestors and nature spirits. ------------------ "But you, my daughter, you will linger on in darkness and in doubt, as nightfall in winter that comes without a star. It must have been horrible to be forced to watch horror movies as a child. I can't even imagine being forced to watch them even as an adult. I used to "enjoy" watching horror movies in my early 20s but I later grew out of it. I don't watch them anymore, nope, won't do it. And one of the reasons is that they don't depict how I relate to the spirit world and to the dead. |

This is what I got the message from. I don’t need to see your “truth”. |
Randall | Oh, do you mean your truth where buildings are burning in the background while a reporter is saying these are mostly peaceful protests? Don't believe your eyes. |
Randall | It's just a video. It explains a lot--using artistic license, and The Walking Dead is filmed not too far from me, so, of course, I like zombies. |
