Belage | In Charleston, a woman legally carrying a pistol shoots and kills a shooter who was opening fire on a graduation crowd with an AR-15. https://www.wral.com/armed-woman-stops-wv-mass-shooting-police-say/20305395/ |
Randall | More good citizens need to be armed. |
GalacticCoreExplosionV2 | Isn't it kind of ironic though, that the police in Texas stopped similar from happening at the school, when I'm pretty sure some of those parents were likely armed and would have tried to do something about the situation. Maybe someday Republicans/Conservatives/right leaning folk will finally understand that the police are not actually on their side. |

I think the past 2 years under Covid enforcement in the US, and especially in places like Canada and Australia where the police has been used to run roughshod of citizens should have opened up the eyes of conservatives about the police. At its best, the police is there to protect and defend, but ultimately, the police WILL be used by the authoritarian governments to enforce their authoritarian agendas. Hence the need for a militia that serves as a rampart against government overreach. The past 2 years have certainly opened my eyes on this and I no longer support gun regulation. I have gone 180 in becoming a supporter of the 2nd amendment. |
Randall | There’s a tipping point where government goes too far. Relinquishing our sovereignty to submit to the UN or WHO and then have their armed soldiers touch down with their boots on American soil is where most of us draw the line. |
GalacticCoreExplosionV2 | Well said Belage. All in all, I support militia AND civilians having firearms/weapons, but do wish that there were more checks and balances for mentally/emotionally unwell people. With that said, even if there were more stringent regulations, that doesn't mean it would necessarily completely stop crazy stuff from happening. Where there is a will, there is a way, and the black market is a very real alternative. Sometimes when regulations become too stringent, it actually strengthens things like a black market and drives more people to same. Prohibition was a good lesson on that. What a mess. |

Indeed! More than 100,000 incidences each year occur when an armed American intervenes to prevent harm to themselves, their family or other citizens.

Yeah, the same as imagining if people weren't allowed to have drugs (meth, crack, cocaine etc) how none of the ... But wait! Somehow, people who wanted to do drugs were still being able to find and use drugs, hence why decades later, we are now decriminalizing drugs and admitting the failing of the "war on drugs"...hmmm... |
