T O P I C R E V I E WmanderinI used to believe that aspects to the ascendant were meaningless. (Except for the conjunction & opposition which I always knew were important). I no longer believe that. In fact I now believe that the other aspects are not only important, but that there can be nuances in regards to gender and sexual orientation. It seems to me (from some outside observations) that if a female's venus tightly squares a man's ascendant it's not that big of a deal. But if a man's venus tightly squares a woman's ascendant he will not be that into her UNLESS his venus is making other good aspects elsewhere. Having her venus in his 5th house would likely also make him more into her. Because squares to the ascendant can indicate sexual attraction a man's venus square a female's ascendant can indeed cause him to be sexually attracted to her, but since venus shows a man's ideal in terms of romance and love, it's unlikely he'll want much more. I have several heterosexual friends and coworkers who had relationships where their ex's venus squared their ascendant under 6 degrees. 2 of them were exact. In the cases where the venus was male and there was no other positive aspect to his venus, the male was attracted sexually, but wasn't really interested in putting too much into making a relationship work. In the cases where venus was female the girls felt the guy wasn't their type at first, but it wasn't a dealbreaker so these relationships actually did develop into something more..even if the female's venus made no positive aspects to his planets. But this is also very hard to test, because how would you know what it would have been otherwise with your alpha/beta male/female? Also, Sun can be strong in the chart or it can be heavily afflicted. This would change things. So maybe it is only true for the former Suns (well placed/well-aspected etc). But if we think in general, maybe of archetypes of male and female, regardless of whether they're alpha or not, then Asc connections logically should be more comfortable for a woman (her Asc), because then she is the one adored, complimented, needed etc. Men classically court, hunt, win over..whatever you might want to call it THEY chase! So women better Not sit on their Ascendants. The other way round is better. Better bolster your man's confidence and character, make him feel like such a man - conjunct his Sun. I like that whole idea, Nine! It's really something.manderinVenus conj ascendant definitely works well. Venus finds the ascendant person beautiful.Unfortunately for me if someone's venus were to conjunct my ascendant that would automatically put their Sun in my 12th house. But I hope to experience this aspect at least once. I haven't been able to find long term couples with SN conjunct the ascendant so that's probably an aspect that brings two people together but then seperates them later, but not sure.LaceyLeigh quote:Originally posted by manderin:Venus conj ascendant definitely works well. Maybe I'm not doing it right, but I'm not sure it's possible for someone with Sun conjunct Venus to ever be conjunct my ascendant. My ascendant is 14 degrees Virgo and Venus tends to transit Virgo around September-ish (at least in the years I looked) and the Sun never seems to go conjunct Venus within the degrees of my ascendant. In fact Sun only leaves the 12th house to go to my first Just as Venus is about to leave my 1rst house. LaceyLeigh quote:Originally posted by manderin:hmmm. Women are more comfortable as the Asc, while men are more comfortable as Sun.
A strong woman will be happier if her beta male conjuncts her Asc as opposed to her Sun.
While an Alpha male is happier with a conjunction to his Sun as opposed to his Asc.
