T O P I C R E V I E WEverlongSo, I have this weird thing, where I go through phases in music with bands. Does everyone else do this? For a period of days/months I'll just be "OMG[insert band here]!" I will absolutely love that band for that period of time. For instance... I've been in an OMGRolling Stones! phase for a couple of months now, just got out of a short OMGPink Floyd! phase that lasted a couple of days (even though I think they're still awesome) and am now entering an OMGOMGBeatles! phase.Yes, that is how special The Beatles are. They deserve two Oh Em Gees. So, what band/s are you OMGing over right now? It doesn't have to necessarily be your favorite band, just one that you absolutely can't get enough of right now.------------------"Out of your depth or not, it's up to you whether you sink or swim."LibraSparkleI've always been like that too. I also do it with genres.EverlongYayy, I'm not alone! I'm such a music nut.pixelpixieOmG I love the Gin Blossoms right now ( even though it's older 90's stuff) and The Watchmen. They are my OMIGAWD-Happy-music.(A few months ago it was Eminem.. so don't categorize me so quickly!)EverlongI've heard that band name a lot before, the Gin Blossoms, but I have no idea who they are/don't think I've ever heard their stuff. Eminem's fine, you know, for his originality, but he seems a bit too Johny Rottenish for me sometimes. You know, I think I've found my Labor of Love in music. I realized today that I would be a musician even if I didn't make any money, hands down. Hmmm, I don't know whether that means something or not though.Sheaa Olein I agree.. I'm soo in love with music Even though I'm known for loving hiphop.. I love motown, some classical, blues, I love rock - does that sound eighties?? 'I love rock'! hehe.. anyways, I love sooo much other stuff I guess noone would place me with.. still like Roxette!! ------------------"To the world you might be one person, but to one person you might be the world"dorkus_malorkusNope, I've liked the same bands for years, never changes, although sometimes I will acquire new favorites.Irish EyesI am constantly changing who I listen to but I always go back to U2. Right now I am into Dido and Patsy Cline....maybe I'm just a weirdo...26tauruslatey for me it's been, White Stripes, The Clash and Ramones.EverlongI loff the Clash and and the Ramones =D.ghanima81What a brilliant thread, Everlong!!I am so a phase person. I used to work at a sweet little music store (now a chain throughout New England, poo poo on them), and i would get so into certain bands from working there and having access to some amazing, somewhat undiscovered or old stuff... I have had a Pat Metheny phase (still love him, though) The Verve phase (A Storm In Heaven is such a great album), a Nine Inch Nails phase, (but I'll never, EVER stop listening to them), and an Ani Difranco phase. (she is the light at the end of most emotional tunnels). Wow, I guess they aren't really phases, just stuff I've picked up along the way and are still quite prominent in my music collection. Right now I'm really into David Bowie, Ben Harper, old Counting Crows, and 311. I don't buy new music, but I do get into moods where certain bands are on my cd player all the time. Is that a phase? Does it seem to have anything to do with how i/you are feeling right now? Could be....Great topic!!Love and lightGhanidorkus_malorkusIrish Eyes,I've been listening a lot to U2 lately. Bono is sooooooo sexy! My favorite song of the moment is "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me."pixelpixieOOOH, OOOH..
