CappyChic | Anyone here a Christian? |
lotusheartone | Are you Sirius? |
Johnny | Does liking Christmas carols count? Edit: I'm not making fun of you - just bored and high on caffeine. And looking forward to winter. Good grief, it's hot. |
LibraSparkle | I have Sirius. I *heart* it. *waves* Hi Johnny. (I'm not Christian.) |
Johnny | Librasparkle!! Congrats on the 6k posts. |
lotusheartone | hehe..I am glad you are around LibraSparkle..shining and sparkling! |
LibraSparkle | haha! Thanks. (both of you) |
lioneye68 | I guess you could say I'm a non-denominational Christian. |
pidaua | Yes, Cappychic.. I am Christian- Lutheran to be exact (LCMS or Missouri Synod). But.. I also have an open to mind to various belief systems, as well as I believe to each their own |
Dulce Luna | Roman Catholic in the house; also open to other belief systems. |
Mama Mia | Yes I am a practicing Christian... |
sue g | Well I believe in God and am very spiritual and pray every day, but tbh I find the teachings of Christ very difficult to implement into my life every day.... I dont suppose I could call myself a christian cos I have been divorced twice and have committed adultery and havent practised the ten commandments. I have never actually met anyone who I felt was a true Christian...cos I am not sure we as mere mortals can live up to that, but maybe one day I will have my mind changed I lean more to being a spiritualist, I suppose. I do healing work and use universal energy, so I suppose Jesus would like that. But as I said before, I am probably wouldnt live up to the label of being a christian. How do people who profess to follow christianity act....I suppose one of the main rules is love thy neighbour as yourself, which means no name calling or being cruel to others doesnt it......? One of the most decent people I ever met was my Dad....he calls himself a humanist.... I like that.... |
CappyChic | I am just asking because I would consider myself a Christian but I am also interested in astrology, etc...I am worried because the bible says that you shouldn't talk to spirits, do astrology etc...what do you guys think about this issue? |
Wednesday | Well rules are made by those who wish to control us by limiting our knowledge. If you're interested in astrology and such, just go ahead and learn as much as you want. |
fayte.m | NOPE Heh heh...LHO I liked the SIRIUS reference. ------------------ Age is a State of Mind. cat71 | What is a Christian??? - seriously? It used to be a simple belief in God and attending church every Sunday, but this has been twisted in time by those who profess a profound belief and superficially appear to be 'christians' and yet in private commit the most heinous acts...I believe in God, I believe myself to be a good person and I don't intentionally hurt other people - but I prefer not to label myself. As for the conflict between astrology and christianity - in the very first book of the bible, Genesis, it states: Gen 1:14 'And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and LET THEM BE SIGNS, and for seasons, and for days, and for years:' I can't remember the passage right now, but there is also another part of the bible where God says something like 'Look to the stars for my sign' AND the three wise men were told by an Angel, MESSENGER OF GOD, to follow the STAR to Jesus... What else do you need? ------------------ ...to have been loved so deeply, even though the person who loved us is gone, will give us some protection forever... |
