Gooberzlostlovefound | Anyone, anyone? I need something with at least 15 SPF Preferably something that feels/smells good. I never wear sunscreen, but I know I need to start. Thanks! |
thirteen | Clarins makes a great spray on SPF 15. Its awsome, smells good, spreads real easy. It is expensive but worth every penny. Im going to take it to Florida with me this easter. P.S. Clinique has some that are less expensive. Ive never used them but would try them, in fact im thinking about getting some of cliniques 25. |
Stargazer | Hi Goober.. Nutragena has a good product and it smells good.. goes on nice, too. Just make sure its broad spectrum UVA/ UVB. If you put it on your face and are prone to breaking out, these products may aggrevate that.. you might want to get something made for the face... and lastly, I don't know where you live...but the farther South you are or go the higher number you will need. I can use 15 around here... but found myself using 45 in the USVI to keep from getting burned

InLoveWithLife | What sunscreen would u suggest for someone living in florida with very oily acne-prone skin ? I've been using neutrogena. |
Gooberzlostlovefound | Thank you, thirteen and Stargazer! I will definitely check those out. |
Gooberzlostlovefound | I used to *love* Bain De Soliel...anyone remember Bain De Soleil? Its smells soooooo good! But they discontinued most of their products |
thebigeliza | Aveeno sunscreen is really great as well. Pretty natural, smells real good. Eliza |
themysteryclub | I have really oily/acne prone skin that is also very sensitive. I wear Aveda Tourmaline Charged Protecting Lotion. It is SPF 15 and oil free. It smells soooooooooo good. Aveda also makes a lotion for the entire body. They use as many natural ingrediants possible without compromising the quality of the product. They also use essential oils in all of their products. It is a bit expensive though: $32. But well worth it! |
Mirandee | I have a good one that is new by OLAY. It's called Olay, Complete plus. It's a day cream, smells wonderful ( as do all their products ) and contains the SPF 15 uva+ubv sun block protection that you require. It costs about $9.00 at WalMarts. That's for 2 ozs. but you don't have to apply much for it to be effective. I love all Olay products and have been using them since my 30's. I credit them of helping to keep me from having as many lines and wrinkles as most women my age have. I use the Olay moisturizing lotion and the Complete plus night time firming cream. Of course these days I could use a truck load of the firming cream so I could apply to it my whole body. *edit* Oh yeah, and it is not greasy at all but is absorbed immediately into the skin. |
Gooberzlostlovefound | Thank you all!!! This is so helpful. |
Stargazer | Goober... yes I remember *Bain De Soliel" It smelled divine.. not to mention the woman they used in their ad... she had the best tan... with her hair all slicked back... she was so exotic.ILWL... If you have oily skin, use something gel based. This will be less likely to clog pores. If you wear foundation, you can usually get your brand in a formula containing sunscreen. This might be a better transition. A hat and sunglasses are good , too... especially in FL. Wish I was there... lol Coming from someone who grew up using baby/oil and Iodine as suntan oil in TX... Got lots of sunburns... and is now seeing the damage.... at 39... USE SOMETHING.. today, even moreso than when I and everybody else was "Tanning"... it was deemed a healthy look... Fortunately, I have that olive complextion and have the fewest risk %...But there is still damage... discoloration mostly... ------------------ "Good judgment comes from experience. Gooberzlostlovefound | Haha...Ohh, Bain De Solei!! Why did you leave me? I would kill for that stuff in a high SPF!! I think the highest they make now is 8. Why oh why. I did end up buying a great suncreen. It's Neutrogena. I forgot what it's called...it's one of their newest ones. It goes on as a liquid and dries to a powder almost...it's SO nice. Doesn't have the exotic fragance going for it, but it has great UVA/UVB protection and it feels very light/silky on your skin. |
Eleanore | Haven't used it yet but Burt's Bees just introduced a chemical free sunscreen, spf 15. Here's the link: NEW! Chemical-Free Sunscreen SPF 15 |
