Usually the city sky at night over my apartment in Los Angeles is a dark grey. The city lights bounce off the layer of smog up there so we can also only see the brightest of stars. Tonight the sky is a dark greyish muddy red. The moon is bright orange - not yellow - ORANGE with dark orange craters.
Effects of all the ash from the wildfires here in Los Angeles. They are about 7 miles from our apartment. My car is covered with white ash.
So besides for the obvious reasons that I'd be happy to be with my boyfriend on the boat on Wednesday and Thursday - I am extra happy because I'll be able to breathe without smelling smoke. I'm sure my son will appreciate that this weekend, too, since we're going out there for fishing and bowling.
