I'm interested in the different sexual styles of Mars in the signs.
The only ones I'm sure of are Mars in Gemini who almost always make love pretty fast and needs lots of stimulating conversation before during and after

Hey Aries Rocks:

Thank your help keep this forum spicey.

Venus really deals more with tastes in potential partners, as well as the subliminal messages we put out there to potential partners. I think it also part of sex though.

Mars is the ACTION part of sex, or the conquerer style.

Pallas represents battle style, or how we would pick our battles, and I think is also a part of that ACTION orientation towards sex.

As for Mars alone, I have Scorpio in Mars. When I'm hunting, it's the typical Scorpio style. You start off with a really intense gaze, you play it cool on the out side while you are smoldering in side. You almost act as if there is no sexual intent.

And then when they least expect it you POUNCE.

Very effective by the way, BUT not for the faint-of-heart.

That is to say, if Sun, Venus or Asc were in Scorpio, then the long-term follow-through would be important, and so someone like a passive Pisces would look delicious.

But the only ones who can match me are Aries', Taurus', Libra's, Scorpio's or Sag's.

Another thing about Scorpio style of sex is we have a great deal of control over our own sexuality. We can go 24/7, or we can abstain for as long as needed. This would also describe me accurately.

And, OK... if you REALLY must insist that Scorpio rules sex.... OK, if you insist. So for me everything IS about sex, with sex being a creative energy which when applied to other areas of life, make them that much more "creative". And because Scorpio is a fixed sign not afraid of the darkside or mysteries, I am therefore an EXTREMELY spritual and mystical person.

See what I mean about the faint-of-heart?
They would never have a chance. And what keeps me from fully exploiting them?

My Libra Sun and Virgo in Venus of course.

So you still want to know my style IN BED? Well... ok. I must first be attracted to their mind. I like sex to be REALLY smart and creative, with my partner to be able to fully abandon him/herself sometimes. I like the heart-to-heart gentle sex, but the same person must not be afraid of rough sex. And I don't mean bruises or pain. I just mean that "do me right here right now" way. A pleasure/pain.

And despite my Venus in Virgo, I've NEVER had trouble acheiving orgasm, although the Virgo does two things:

1) Allows me to practice celibacy for extended periods of time (very mystical times).

2) The "subliminal message" I mentioned gets put out (to the poor unsuspecting princes out there) is of a woman who needs to be conquered and possessed. Well, it's true in the bedroom, but not in real life.

Good Day Holiday

Ok, so then, what plays more of a role in sexual pursuit and sex play when we are discussing Mars anyway?

Is it's Sign placement a little more telling for how we pursue and make contact with our potential partners?

While it's actual House placement is more descriptive of our performance styles, techniques, stamina, preferences, etc... in the actual bed once we get there with them?

And, if anybody wants to hazard any guesses etc...

what about the person who has their Mars in Pisces for both it's Sign and House, meaning having Mars in Pisces with it seated in the 12th House as well?

How do you suppose that man might first pursue his interests and then perform with them once they get them to bed?

Thanks for any input and insight!

I would say that Mars in Pisces lends to one of the more sexy types of styles. LOL...because I have Mars in Pisces.

Actually, they say Mars in Pisces creates a person that is more fluid in style. They (we) tend to want to merge and can "become" part of the person we experience sexually. It is not just about sex but it has to transcend the sexual. We can be erotic without being on display. I think it is more a smoldering undercurrent. We can also prone needing the mood more than the lover. Meaning, we can get lost in the romantic atmosphere and not be as discriminating concerning the lover we pick - depending on the other planets and signs. Myself, well, I have alot of fire so that water planet does calm me.

A 12th house Mars can lend to more of an unpredictable type of person. Maybe you like to pursue the object of your desire in secret. Being one of those people that watches for a while before making a move or you like to keep a secret affair. Behind close doors takes on a more deeper meaning.

Here is one way to look at Mars in the 12th:

According to Paulus: "When the star of Ares [Mars] happens to be upon this place, it afflicts the determination concerning slaves and quadrupeds, and supplies treacheries from servile persons and furnishes the occasions". [77] The reasoning here is that Mars creates a character of heat and dryness (felt as hatred) that separates them from empathy with you. It is often the case that the native is not aware of their own subconscious anger and that this forces its way to the surface in the form of confrontations with others where the cause of the conflict is not well understood; usually in the form of one of those "last straw" situations that brings the energies of this place to light. Here it is very important to keep awareness of the effect of your actions upon other people and to stay aware of hidden motivations. This is one of those places where if Mars is in sect, it can help by cooling the hatred, but on the other side of the sword, your enemies may be able to disguise their intent and motives for their actions. Also it may be the case that the native has a talent for hiding their motives. A nocturnal Mars here is especially good for spying because their actions appear to be for a purpose other than it is. A diurnal Mars will be more likely to bring hidden conflicts and motivations out into the open. Similar circumstances are the case when Mars is lord of this place (when Aries or Scorpio is the 12 sign from the ascendant).

Mars in Pisces is defined as such:

Mars is in aversion to its Aries domicile here being in the 12th sign from it. This has the effect of inhibiting spontaneous action and forthrightness of motivation. There is the hint that agnoia is present (because Saturn's joy is in the 12th) with regard to motivations meaning that the native may not be very aware of what drives him/her. Because the 12th represents the unconscious, and Mars is full of energy, they are often restless and find it hard to release their energy directly. This often leads to indecision where there are two or more opposing viewpoints. Some may dislike competetion. However, if they are consciously aware of their intentions, they can be quite adept at hiding their motivations from others. Despite the restlessness associated with this energy, they are often careful of how they express it because it is also the 5th sign from its other domicile, Scorpio. This is a fairly good position for those involved in covert operations like spying or for investigators of crime or the paranormal. They may be talented in more fluid martial arts styles like Tai Chi. According to Ptolemy, Mars is in its own trigon for both day and night while in this sign and is therefore essentially dignified.

In a diurnal chart, the heat and dryness of the day make it more difficult for the impulses of Mars to be contained. This should theoretically increase the restlessness or carelessness of the natives actions indicating a lack of forethought and motivational awareness. There may be a tendency to overreact to emotional stimuli.

In a nocturnal chart, the cool and moist of night help mitigate the impulses of Mars. This is better for decision making processes and self control. Restlessness should be less of a problem theoretically. Physically they may be more coordinated favoring fluid, graceful movements, but with afflictions they may become lethargic.

I have Mars in Pisces in my sixth house. I also find that I do happen to meet men while pursuing work related activities, either when I was working or in college.

talking about Mars and sex ...last year I chatted at a gay astrology Forum for a while, (this curioise Gemini Moon wants to see all different points of view) and a gay guy there posted a list of Mars signs taken from a norwegian astrology book.

Here goes -
men and their Mars size

[ Aries - long, narrow, quick to action, quick to conclusion, and quickly ready for more

[ Taurus - thick, sturdy, slow and steady

[ Gemini - small, boyish, expressive

[ Cancer - fat and delicious

[ Leo - not quite as big as he says, but quite satisfying, with lovely pubic hair.

[ Virgo - petite, but extraordinarily skillful

[ Libra - pretty and pleasing

[ Scorpio - a grower, not a shower. Retracts and hides until the event, and
then, look out!

[Sagittarius - large, arched, and well traveled.

[ Capricorn - small, but satisfying, with staying power - does the job quite well!

[ Aquarius - likeliest to be pierced.

[ Pisces - delicately curved with a translucent foreskin.

any feedback, guys? Randall?

Hmm... I have Mars in Taurus, which causes me to be generally a lazy and physically slow paced person, compared to my grandmother who has the nerves of a frightened cat. I'm also a very patient person. And to quote Lewi on this placement:

"Your motto is, 'I don't want to fight; just let's do it my way'". So very true.

Apparently Mars in Taurus causes one to be quite, erm, sensual in the act of sex, non?

Pixie & Jezzebel...

You made me totally laugh out loud... oh my... how f'g funny!!!

Pixie, I wood (pun intended) guess that your husband is quite AGILE sexually. Almost like he can make you feel like he's everywhere. Am I right, or no?

Jezz, there's actually a bit of truth to that list. Oh... I guess that means I've "been" with every sign. Yup, there's a LOT of truth to that list. The biggest ones I've seen have been Aquarius, Cancer & Taurus, or a guy with a strong combination of the three put together. MMMMmmmm... yummy... I'm going on 6 months without now.
I've got issues.

My friend used to have lots of Aquarius partners and they were all very well endowned..Damn why can't I find those!
Cancer sun Mars in Gemini Taurus ascendant: the smallest one I ever seen.
Not that size matters *caughs and rolls thumbs*

I would also like to know if you've ever mad love to someone with the famous Mars square Saturn aspect? what turns them on? what keeps them up (no pun intended....well actually yes) and what keeps them interested.
I made love to one who had this aspect, but I broke up with him after 3 days cause I got annoyed and sexually frustrated (what?? so I'm an Aries) Too bad I didn't stick around for research purposes.

But, funny that you said that, about being many places at once, it is sort of his signature, he's very agile at doing three things at once...but doing them all well! Lucky woman...

Lol, this thread is pretty interesting.

But still, any insights from anyone on the question I asked before though?

Any ideas about the effects of the Sign Vs. House placements of Mars in love and sex?

What effect does it's House placement have on pursuit, technique, styles, etc... in addition to the placement of it's Sign?

Thanks for any info.!

Hey Jezz:

You make me crack UP!!! I feel like I should open a (900) line, "Ask .gloria, she's tried everything..."

I still can't stop laughing... OK... [composure].

I find it easier to answer which ones I recall NOT liking. Mars in Pisces lacks the UMPH for me. Mars in Gemini is too unfocused to "get" me. In Leo will expect my image to reflect on their image, and no can do. Everything else is good. I do like an agressive start.

Hey Playful:

In terms of houses a few stand out for me making any influence for sex style, etc., like you asked:

I'll start at the 1st hs., Whatever house your Mars is in would multiply the importance it will have to the image you project when taking action.

In a synastry, if your partner's Mars is in your 1st hs., it would make it more of an action-oriented exchange in the public eye.

I think the next house which stands out to me is the 7th. Mars in the 7th would emphasize reaching resolutions in relationships. If in synastry, whoever has the Mars in someone's 7th would have the most "hope" for a strong friendship or relationship.

The next and last to me is the 11th hs. because it will show Mars placing an emphasis on friendship and comraderie, which is always cool.

The houses in the chart makes a lot of difference. For instance an Aries mars in the 12 th house will be very different from an Aries Mars in the third.
It all makes sense.

PPFM,

I posted your answer in my response above concerning how Mars acts in the 12th house as well as Mars in Pisces.

Are you looking for more information such as the sexual style?

Here is another interpretation of Mars in the 12th:

Mars was in your twelfth house at the time of your birth. This is substantial reason to think that you have little known ability to act well in stress situations. It also indicates an inclination toward dynamic action and enterprise. Psychologically, Mars provides you with a rather domineering temperament, but one that you keep well disguised.

You seem to enjoy working on things that include some secrecy or that show off your more esoteric talents so that you have or may receive full recognition for them. All this is perfectly all right unless the taste for risks becomes too intense, then you should try not to satisfy it.

And another for Mars in Pisces:

In Pisces, Mars produces emotions that are unpredictable and often intense. Emotional energy is high, sometimes too high. Mentally, Mars in Pisces does well, but on the physical and practical side, this placement often comes up short.
The strength of Mars in Pisces is found in the arts. You may find yourself very much attracted to music and the arts. You may relate to many of the world's fine artists who need the isolation and introspection so much a part of this placement. You have a natural sensitivity to color, tone and rhythm that may be of benefit to you in artistic endeavors.

In this sign, Mars responds in a confused manner. Assertive action is drowned in this sign that is so receptive, emotional, sensitive, and even psychic. The result of the placement is often a quiet exterior, but with much restlessness inside. Physical strength is rare with this position. Resentment runs high. Excessive emotions are a constant problem and a good deal of solitude is frequently necessary to sort matters out. Mars in Pisces has trouble asserting itself, and it is likely that you are somewhat shy and withdrawn.

Action is expressed in "behind the scenes" roles where you can work with subtlety, and your naturally intuitive sensitivity. Much of your attitude stems from your keen sensitivity to the feelings of others. You clearly know what the other person is feeling, and therefore you are always ready to render assistance to those who are most in need. You are apt to express the energies of Mars most actively in support of the defenseless or the underprivileged. In this regard, Mars in Pisces is often found in fields such as psychology and medicine.

Mars in Pisces is not a highly sexed sign. Certainly, you are romantic, but in order for you to be satisfied, the greater need is emotional rather than physical. You're very idealistic about love and relationships. In many ways, you view of sexual matters is more like a fantasy with such high expectations that it is rarely achieved in real life.

The indication of a "low sex drive" can be minimized by much fire in the chart. I had no idea, when I first began to learn about the meanings of planets in signs, that Mars in Pisces meant a lower sex drive. Being a Sag with fiery planets I thought I was doing pretty well. Anymore of a sex drive and I would be a nympho....Just kidding...maybe!!

Well in truth, if someone does not live up to my ideal, romantically or sexually, I lose all interest in them. Whether this is Mars or Venus in Sag, I have no idea. It is most likely a combo of both.

I don't think Mars in Pisces means a low sex drive. I think Mars in Libra or Aquarius or Gemini makes the sexdrive lower. Mars in a water sign usually makes most people happily horny

Pidaua,

I know, I did see your reply up above there with the Pisces Mars information.

Thanks so much for responding to it that way, as well as for taking the time to post this new information for me too!

In reference to my other questions though, I was just thinking in terms of other combinations in general besides that specific one.

Like, I'm trying to figure out just when the Sign placement comes into play Vs. when the House placement comes into play for Mars, and the effects of each one of them on the course of things, meaning...

Like, if someone were to have Mars in Libra, which might make someone less aggressive in their initial pursuit of a person to begin with, but if they also have their Mars in the First House too however, would that First House placement possibly inspire them to be more aggressive in the actual act of lovemaking or something?

Like, I guess I was trying to figure out whether or not that person might act more "Libran" and cooler and laid back when they were "hooking their potential partner" so to speak, lol, but then could they also like be really "take charge" and take more control and dominance once they actually got them into their bed?

I guess I was wondering when the Sign placement was "more in charge" of the direction of things as opposed to when the House placement took "more of the reins" over.

There IS someone that I am curious about specifically who has the Pisces Mars and the 12th House Mars, so Pidaua, I THANK you again for all the great information you gave me here.

But the last example I just used about the Libra Mars with the 1st House placement is just an example I am putting forth because I know that Libra and Aries, which rules the First House, are Zodical opposites, and I wondered when the Libra Sign placement would be more in charge of things, as opposed to when the Aries House placement would be more in control of things, I guess.

Hi PPFM,

Ahhhh haaaa!! Now, I get ya. I would say that first off, Mars in Pisces in the 12th house would feel more at home than say in the aggressive Aries ruled first house.

Now for someone with Mars in Libra (in the first house) hmmm, I would think that they would use their more judicial approach in getting what THEY want. Also, Mars is at home in the first house. So, Mars - being of action and in that first house is going to serve the personality: "THE ONE" you know that old saying "Going for the one". So I would think (and this is just my gut feeling that the more charming Libra will use the Martian energy to really get what they want or think they need out of life.

Maybe someone with a Mars in Pisces in the 12th house will use their more intuitive powers to get into the "head" of another to get what they want. That is their method of action.

That Martian energy in the first house is also bound to give someone more of an Aries flare. I would also think that although very charming, they may be somewhat selfish in bed, maybe only concerned with their own big "o" versus say someone with Mars in the 12th that may want to really feel and experience the big "O" in a more spiritual way.

I do know another with a Mars in the first house, but it is in Aries and it's my brother. I cannot ask him about his sexual style because then I would have to just throw myself off a bridge LOL...sorry

Hey aries rocks~ I wonder why you said Mars air signs have lower sex drives.... is this because of the tendancy to be very mercurial, and their heads in the clouds, so to speak? I find that the opposite is true.. A way to communicate feelings through the body....and words during, is essential to the airs. With the exception of an Aquarius Sun lover I had.... he seemed to go forever, and though he enjoyed himself, never seemed as pleased as he should have been. I think we just didn't 'get' each other's energy....weren't connected. He could dissect the experience, with great reverance afterwards, but didn't seem into it at the moment...you know? But I find, Libra's and Gemini's are so highly sexed, they rival me with their verve for it. I am speaking Sun signs, but I imagine, Mars in those signs would be similar in motivation.
My husband has Mars in Gemini, as I mentioned before, and WWWWHHHHHHHooooaaaa Nelly, he has a drive!!!! ( He IS an Aries Sun though......)

I have experience with mars in libra in the 7th and mars in libra has a high drive for cuddling and affection, more than anyone I have ever seen but that does not translate into sex, unless you consider affection and sex the same. What I mean is that it's more willing to compromise, in every way. it can be good or bad depending on whether or not your mars in libra is with you or not.

Mars in the 7th has trouble saying no, to any kind of affection, touching, playing, cuddling which was great but very discouraging for me, this rarely translated into anything.
I have Mars in Sag in the 1st and I am regularly attracted to Mars in the 7th or Mars in Libra so I will have this challenge again, and again.

Mars in Libra or the 7th, needs constant guidance, and even Mars in LIbra in the 1st needs to be picked up, and then picked up again and again. You have to do a lot of romancing and mental work, as mars in libra never wants to be forgotten. Consider yourself the hero in a romance novel and remember that you Libra is the heroine regardless of sex and he/she will have very high expectations for you in romance, setting, locations, flowers, scents, everything, bring a sense of humour and drink expresso.

Mars in Libra would like a trip to St. Barts and would like totally pampering, do not make jokes because Mars in Libra is very sensitive. Mars in Capricorn can take a practical joke anytime.

Mars in Capricorn likes to do things, drive, take you out, and loves to joke around physically, but likes to be touched a lot non sexually. But they do focus on the fun aspects more, both like a commitment I have found.

Mars in Aries is super sensitive to criticism and needs to be pampered as much as Mars in Libra but prefers to be the one in charge.

Hi Natasha,

That is interesting to know. My Leo has his Mars in Sagittarius in the 7th house ( I have my Aries moon in the 7th). I DO find that he loves being touched and cuddled, even though he never really received it in the past nor will he admit that he likes it.

It was kind of interesting because me being a Sag, I have never been that cuddly in bed (well, I like it but it takes a lot to get me there). I used to try to sneak out in the middle of the night, but he soon put a stop to that and started staying with me. LOL now I have no problems staying the night.

Thank you for the information. I always look forward to your posts.

Take care,

~pidaua
