Mama mia,
what do you mean when you say you hide your feelings to the people you love though?
Is it because you are too shy to show emotion?

Mama,

Venus in the 12th house is a VERY strong placement of Venus energy, which tends to build relationships. However, Aquarius (friends) modifying Venus can be a different story! You may like people to get close but not TOO close. If people start coming into your "space" you may decide to relocate!

About Venus,

Tim

Ahh, Venus in the 12th -

A love of the sublime

Romanticism to the point of undoing

Eternal love, and nothing less

Karmic debts to pay in Love, and the ability to pay them

Nearly impossible to identify what you truly love, or even like. It's hard to access anything in the 12th house. But it still accesses you, from behind the curtain that is.

Don't be surprised if you find yourself in secret love affairs, or find yourself inspired by a love YOU'RE not even aware of. It can take you down, if you don't tune in to it. How do you do that? Meditation. Periods of isolation. Suffering.

You can walk with and relate to the outcasts of society, the dead and dieing, the lepers. You may feel as though to love is to suffer.

Not an easy placement for Venus, but you picked it carefully before you came here, so buck up, cowboy. (or cowgirl)

Meandering thoughts....

Lioneye

My progressed Venus is in the 12th house, in scorpio. I guess what I thought was us growing apart (me and my boyfriend) was really just me caving in. emotionally...

I've always been so open about everything in my life. Like I feel as if I have no secrets and nothing to hide (which is HUGE coming from a Scorpio) and I loved it that way. But now, I feel like I'm unintentionally burying these huge parts of myself and keeping the truth from everyone. I feel so sketchy. And it's weird when you feel sketchy towards yourself.

I'm an "honorary" Venus in the 12th. LOL My Venus falls in the 11th but right on the cusp of my 12th house if you're using Placidus houses...

I do tend to be very secretive about my love life... I always tend to get a crush on someone and be very shy about letting them know how I feel. Usually I wait for some sign of encouragement before I put my heart out on my sleeve. But for the good side, there's nothing I wouldn't do for those I love.

Taurean,

I mentioned that Venus is STRONG in the 12th. Now just add in Gemini energy (thinking, also talking, writing). This could be about some type of strong talking/writing relationship. This person might very much enjoy communicating, not just as a means to explain a point of view, but as a means of relating to the other person. Perhaps they journal things out after dates to understand better how you feel about a particular relationship. In general, an emphasis on talking and writing in relationships in some way.

Relating,

Tim

Cappy,

If Venus conjuncts (energy is combined with) Ascendant (self), then some how there is a SELF love. The strong energy of Venus focused in the 12th house is STILL strong, but there is also a little bit of that love (or a lot of it! ) channeled over directly to ourselves.

A word about the strength of Venus in the 12th. The 12th has to do with spirituality, with our interconnection with everyone and everything. Venus is strong when focused in the 12th house because in enables us to "connect in" and relate to EVERYTHING in a loving, accepting way. Of course, being THAT open us to the world's pain, suffering, etc. But our love is still there, underneath it all.

Venusifying,

Tim

Very well said Lioneye.... I see this with my father. He has Venus in Capricorn in the 12th (and had a string of... well, extra-marital honeys).

The 12th house is hard to handle at times, depending on the planet. I have known people with Mars singletons in the 12th house and observed a bit of a seething anger bioling under the surface. My ex had Jupiter in Aries in the 12th and always seems to walk on the wild side of the law.. yet escaped every potential consequence (with the exception of me).

The 12th house and the 8th house seems to give rise to specific problems depending on the planet (I still struggle off and on with my Saturn in Taurus in the 8th opposing Jupiter in Scorp in the 2nd LOL).

How are things going?

Tim, your description of this aspect is

One more thing...if this aspect ( venus in 12th conjunct ascendant appears in a solar return chart does it work in the same way or does its meaning change ?
Thank You !

Cappy,

Since a Solar Return chart is the chart for a particular birth year, Venus in 12th conjunct Ascendant gives that sort of "self-love" I described for THAT Solar Return year. It is a time when it is important for us to love ourselves and/or a time when we find it easy to forgive ourselves for our mistakes (and love ourselves anyway! ). However, since it is only for THAT year, when the next year comes along, this self-love may go away, unless we remember the lessons we learned in the Solar Return year.

Note: a "Solar Return" year is from one birthday until the following birthday (e.g., a "Solar Return" year for someone born 8/12/1980 is from when the Sun returns in 8/12/1980 to the same place it was at birth until the Sun again returns in 8/12/1981 to the same place it was at birth).

Returning,

Tim

Venus in the 12th house can indicate past lives as a nun or priestess.

This is a placement that has both problematic and very positive aspects. The problematic side has been mentioned. It may be the signature aspect of secret love affairs. It's also one of the aspects indicating "impossible love."

Venus in the 12th is archetypal and to some degree less personal. Depending on the evolution of the soul, the person is "tuned" to experiences of love that help them grow larger as a person at the very least or to mystical states of transcendental Love. This may be why it's associated with lifetimes as a nun or priestess. Venus in the 12H is a yearning for the Divine Beloved and/or soul mate.

They also have values that don't necessarily conform with the culture they live in.

This is just my opinion but Venus in the 12H regards the unseen as beneficent and they attract help from invisible beings/forces. I think this is a wonderful compensation for the sacrifice or heartbreak that is also a manifestation of this placement.

I have venus in the 12th. I feel very lonely and I don't really feel like people like me even though they say they do. I have had my share of secret love affairs.

Venus Gemini in the 12'th (along with my sun Mercury and True node.)Pair all this up with moon in Scorpio and Saturn in Pisces and you have someone who does not do well in relationships. I tend to get involved with uninvolved damaged men thinking I can "fix" them and pretty much destroy myself (four times) In return I have had to pick myself up and start my life over from scratch. This last time has been hell. I am 50, you would think I would learn. Not just starting over emotionally, physiologically but also financially.
Secret love affairs? Only one and I longed for him and he showed enough interest...but nothing happened. Blessing in disguise in hind sight.
Yes, lonely is also a problem. I think that is part and parcel with the 12'th house deal though. I was lonely even when the relationships were good. Very hard to not feel love as pain but I think my moon has a lot to do with that.

Venus in Leo in the 12th... with mercury and moon.. AC conjunction
loneliness and marter relationships have been my forte.

However I have been trying to learn from the past and not throw myself into these kind of relationships, it's hard but when i notice some sign i'm gone and go into some kind of recovery mode for a couple of months..

But the feeling loneliness for me has always been a part of it
I believe because it takes a very long time for me to trust and show someone my true self..
