Pixie, I read in one of your threads that you go out on a Friday night..........well thats my night out too. Are you going this Friday and if so what are you doing? Are you gonna sing and stuff. I am going out to the session to sing and dance and generally be expressive and wild - I cant wait - hope you have fun on your night of "freedom". Love and fun Sue xxxIP: Logged |

Aw.. thanks sue! I usually go out fridays... lately its been saturdays... this friday, I work until midnight, then again the next day... so I may not. But last saturday, I had a great time at a backyard barbeque, we had a chiminea going when it got dark ( for those chilly spring eves) and we even roasted marshmallows. Then I left and went to my bar. Most people meet their families at Sunday dinners, I go out with mine on fridays. We'll do kareoke, or just hang... I haven't got a show until May 28th, it's been a long time, but thats okay, I am working on another labour of love right now. Also, my old friend asked me to be in her bridal party, so I have that too. My hubby used to be supportive of my night. Now he gets wierd and jealous and now I feel guilty.. but I still go out. I offer him the next night, but he says he doesn't want to just go out, he wants to go out with me. Babysitting is a problem, so unfortunately, thats how it usually goes. We had a nice long chat last night, after watching the movie "Spanglish"... interesting.. great movie, by the way.IP: Logged |

Janis Joplin, Fleetwood Mac, Beatles, Rolling stones, Led Zep, even "Sweet Child of Mine" by G'n R.... mostly old stuff.. although, I do "What's up" by four non-blondes... I had to push for that one.. people were requesting it. I do write songs as well.. but my personal taste runs all over the map. They are all in their late forties/fifties, I am twenty eight.... it is hard to mention a band I want to incorporate, and hear..Who? I'd love to pull in some U2,some Heart (from "DreamBoat Annie") and even Tragically Hip, as well as some more obscure stuff. I like 'girly' music too. What do you sing? IP: Logged |

Hey Pix, I love Sweet Child O Mine - I am impressed I bet you sound wicked, any videos for sale? Well I just sing ancient traditional Irish love songs (of course). They come from deep within and I am very nervous as sometime its just me, no music, the real naked stuff you know - its great craic tho!!! Love and hugs Sue xxxIP: Logged |

Oh thanks Blue Moon, but I dont think I would be worthy of singing with Pix.Pix I also jam with hubbie - he is a guitarist, we do Broken by Seether, and a couple of Pearl Jam numbers and a bit of Bowie and then some folk too,but only in the privacy of our own nest - he is shy, modest and brilliant, like Virgos are - you know the Virgin aahhhh sweet xxxx IP: Logged |

awesome!!! I lead in to "Me and Bobby McGee" with Mercedes Benz.. just me, all nekkid.Your Irish love songs would probably reach the very depth of my soul. In my own time, I love melodic music as well.... but in a bar, it's all about yodelling, making noise and blowing people away! IP: Logged |

Hey, Pix... I watched Spanglish, too. Totally not what I expected. My boyfriend (?) and I were looking for a funny movie to watch, so we grabbed the Sandler. When it was over, our mouths were wide open. Very interesting movie. *BTW, we're the same age. Did you know that? It's news to me. IP: Logged |

Oh zala I say we all be green lights! Future.. doesn't surprise me.. the more I see of you, the more I am seeing of myself.. but in a good way! Maybe these transition times ( eerily similar!) are due to our age...? IP: Logged |

I'm not a big Sandler fan at all, but I'll check out Spanglish since it's my first language. All those songs you guys sing, are all very familiar to me and I like them all. Pixie - Can you belt out some angry raspy Fiona Apple? Like "Criminal"? IP: Logged |

AJ - Spanglish isn't at all a stereotypical Sandler flik - it's complicated in quite a moving way.Jase and I watched it the other night and both loved it. IP: Logged |
