Aquarius New Moon Blessing: And the Angels Appear!
by Dana Gerhardt

When the Grand Cross marched into place last November, I got calls and emails from many of you wondering what would happen. Well now you know. Perhaps you were stymied in your efforts. Maybe you ran around in circles or were stretched beyond your comfort zone. Perhaps you wondered if you’d ever rise above it all. Some of my clients and friends have told harrowing and heartbreaking tales, while others have shared long narratives of little moments proving Murphy’s Law (if anything can go wrong, it will). When four planets oppose and square each other as they do in a Grand Cross, it’s like handling four-year-old quadruplets. Just as you’ve fed one, another has spilled juice on the rug, another has wandered who knows where, and the fourth is dropping plastic toys down the kitchen drain.... (go to article)

Aquarius New Moon Meditation: The Jolt of Uranus
by Pythia Peay

This month's New Moon - with its potent line-up of Chiron, Sun, Moon, Mercury and Neptune all in Uranus-ruled Aquarius - is the cosmically ordered time to shake loose the restrictions that limit us from fulfilling our potentials. With stern taskmaster Saturn in the creative fire sign of Leo opposing this line-up, the heavens are signaling us to awaken from the dull slumber of winter's comfortable hibernation. It is a time to set the world on fire, symbolically speaking -- to take risks, rather than remain safe. Look to your individual astrological chart to the house with Uranus in it, or that is ruled by the sign of Aquarius, to see where the trickster god might be hurtling lightning bolts and overturning entrenched convictions. With Uranus, it is out with the old -- and in with the new.... (go to article)

Wow ... really cool BlueTopaz124. Thanks.

I'm really excited about it -

I have a Singleton Uranus in Leo in the 4th, so this should be FUN.

Also have MC & South Node in Aquarius. So I guess my career issues will take a twist, and the South Node in the 10th House would mean .... ummmm.....

Any idea how the New Moon will shake up my South Node in the 10th issues? What would that look like?

Hmm, my Uranus is in Sagittarius in the Tenth House, and Aquarius is my rising.

Here's the continuation of the article:
CHANNELLING THE LIGHTNING BOLT OF TRANSFORMATIONAL ENERGY

In order to channel Uranus' lightning-like energy in a way that creatively reconfigures, rather than negatively destroys, imagine yourself in a place where you have felt most stuck. Maybe you are limited by lack of financial resources; perhaps you are blocked in love. It might be that you are restricted by a job you have outgrown. Or, your creativity might be stifled by doubt, or your relationship with a loved one might be at a dead end. Whatever it is, picture that situation as a darkened room that you can't see your way out of.

Now, imagine that this room is suddenly illuminated by a flash of lightning: crackling with energy, sizzling the airwaves with heat, this bolt from the skies lights up every corner and crevice. Suddenly, the narrow perspectives that have limited you are revealed. Another crack of lightning, and doors, windows, and archways appear. Through the openings they provide you glimpse large rooms filled with beautiful and unusual furniture and art. Outside the open windows, endless vistas roll toward distant horizons.

Catapulted into a visionary landscape teeming with colors, shapes, and structures, your mind feels electrified with insight and clarity; you are flooded with creative ideas. Your whole body tingles with light; your very cells are luminous with awareness. What had been dark, now melts in the glow of understanding. New patterns and possibilities that you had never considered before emerge into the light of your newly expanded consciousness. Brilliant solutions to your problems arise.

As you sit in this state of awakened intelligence, savor the miracle of creation. Receive into your soul the magnetic life force permeating the universe. And wake up to your true, limitless nature as a divine creature of the infinite cosmos.

Aquarius is often thought of as a visionary. When we vision, we look beyond the norm and question accepted truths. We boldly claim originality and fly in the face of reason; questioning everything and refusing to blindly follow the dictates of others. This is the New Moon for radical change. And what an overwhelming Aquarius New Moon this will be with the Chiron/Sun/Moon/Mercury/Neptune conjunction in Aquarius opposing a retrograde Saturn in Leo. If there was ever was a time to shift out of old thinking and into new ideas this is it. Aquarius rules "WHY NOT?", and this is where your attitude needs to be when you engage in ritual for this New Moon. Any hesitance, doubt, or second-guessing should be forsworn in favor of a radical openness to revelation. I know a surgeon who claims that each new year he spontaneously "intuits" the overall theme for that year. At the end of December he told me that 2006 will be a year of adventure. I immediately resonated with his revelation and decided to share it with all of you on this adventurous Aquarius New Moon: Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dog.

Change is good! Reflect upon how you felt when you read that last sentence. Did you feel a pit in your stomach? Did you scoff at me? Did you feel a powerful YES! reverberate in your psyche? Really it all comes down to our attitude toward change, and this is the New Moon to throw out the old and bring in the new! This is the time to seek and destroy worn out modes of thinking. The Aquarius New Moon asks each of us to awaken to the reality of our lives. To see it as it truly is (no rose colored glasses allowed) and then envision a better life; one free of old rules and restrictions that reflect your "I can'ts, I won'ts, I'm unable, and I'm scared". This is a truth or dare New Moon. Recognize your present circumstances and then dare to vision beyond them, past the boundaries of the known into the unknown. If your life feels more like a prison than a gift, this is the New Moon to commit to freeing yourself once and for all. This can include releasing unhealthy relationships, workaholic tendencies, addictive behaviors, substance abuse, and even poor dietary habits.

The Moon symbolizes one's relationship to the inner life, emotions, and deep personal needs. Aquarius tends to set aside personal needs and feelings, focusing more on the emotional needs of the group. So this New Moon requires a bit of work to reach deep down and connect with change on a personal level; doubly so with both Moon in Aquarius and retrograde Venus in Capricorn. Often it is the fear of facing our inner pain, sadness and disappointment that prevents change. The retrograde movement of Saturn and Venus can help draw the awareness deep into our complexes around love, authority, personal limitation, and creativity. The square from Jupiter (bliss, joy) in Scorpio (transformation through letting go) to the Mercury/Neptune conjunction will support radical change within the conscious mind as well as the deep unconscious. Changing our thoughts is the first step toward effecting real change in behavior. So don't hold back, go for transformation around issues that block your ability to create a life full of love and happiness.

Heads up all you techie geeks: this is the New Moon to give form to that crazy idea that's been rolling around in your brilliant head. What we call a radical new theory today often becomes tomorrow's accepted practice… and that next great innovation could come from you! Speaking of incredible creative innovation, check out ALUNA, the world's first tidal-powered Moon Clock. ALUNA is a marvel of sculptural beauty and spiritual inventiveness created by British artist Laura Williams. Laura's vision is Aquarian brilliance at it's best: a desire to cosmically reconnect us through imparting direct experience of the lunar cycles of time.

The Aquarius New Moon is all about individuation and freethinking. It is a time to get free of self-imposed restrictions and think out of the box! Use your ritual to indulge in the "what ifs" of life: Question expectations, career choices, relationships, attitudes, desires and commitments. It's all up for grabs on this New Moon. With Mercury in Aquarius and Pluto in Sagittarius there should no problem thinking deeply about change. Let your mind and heart soar like an eagle to places it has never dared go. The Neptune/Mercury conjunction to the Sun and Moon is extremely helpful for doing powerful ritual work to realize a long held dream. How many times have you thought, "if I could only do ____________, it would really change the world." This Aquarius New Moon is great for identifying that calling, visualizing the appropriate form for sharing it, and strategizing about how to actualize it. Make sure to use each day of the next two weeks, as the Moon waxes to full, to reaffirm your commitments. The Full Moon in Leo, the ruler of creative self-actualization will provide the perfect time to release your desires to the universe and start living the changes you have committed to making.

Aquarius is all about the "power of one" to change the circumstances of the many; especially this New Moon with Sun (ego/self-identity), Moon (emotional needs), Neptune (interconnection and unconditional love), Mercury (mind), and Chiron (wounding) all in Aquarius. We are all equally responsible for the condition of our world. Global change begins at home. How you live, the quality of your thoughts, speech, and actions has a profound effect upon all life on this planet. Since change can happen from within the system or outside of it, only you know which is the proper path for you. Aquarian success comes from connecting to the needs of your generation and making your life a testament to upliftment.

Since Aquarius rules our relationship to the collective, and the Moon is joined by Neptune in Aquarius, we will have optimal conditions to work toward deep spiritual change on a global level. Because Neptune rules peace, compassion, surrender, understanding and unconditional love, this is a New Moon ritual that can be shared with a group of likeminded individuals who are also focused on global change. Group ritual is very potent, and collective New Moon rituals create the conditions for shared transformation. Put some Aquarian ritual magic behind the desire for peace: a magic that creates an awareness of the necessity for change, but is fully conscious of the need for that change to be of heart and mind (Moon and Mercury). Radical change and terrorism need to be decoupled now or we will continue to experience the horrors of violence as a means to effect change.

Think about how you can become a force for change at your workplace, in your neighborhood, and at home. Change is good! So this New Moon, commit to changing your life and you will change the world. Ride the wave of this mind-altering, life-altering New Moon Cycle.
