Topic: Chart similarities within your family?

I just checked my sister's chart against mine and although the 'big' ones (sun, moon, ascendant) are completely different, I noticed that three of our planets are in the same sign:Uranus in Scorpio
Neptune in Sagittarius
Pluto in Libra Is this usual within a family? We're born four years apart, with different fathers. Is there something about our parents (especially the mother) that influences the time we are born and whether there will be similarities in the charts of the children, or is it just a coincidence? Anyone else find something similar in their family? btw my sister is a Cancerian with lots of Leo going on (Asc, Mercury, Jupiter and Lilith all in that sign - with a Capricorn moon, AND Venus in Cancer!)... anyone care to analyse that? Hmmmm simularities in the charts of family members - I have seen many in mine. I like to use the planets in houses as well as the signs. I find it can add more to chart readings, when doing comparisons. My Gemini grandma has Venus Square to her mars/jupiter/neptune conj......I have venus square to jupiter/neptune conj. (In mutable signs. I have neptune in the 6th and my Gemini Grandma has Neptune in Virgo - She has very bad allegies and so do I. A few grandparents of mine also has Sun square mars. They have Pluto in Cancer - I have Pluto in the 4th (Koch houses) and so does my daughter. My Taurus Grandma had an aquarian moon and my daughter has moon in cancer in the 11th. I have a Cancer moon in the 2/3rd houses and my mom has a 4th house moon in Aries. My Mom has Jupiter in the 4th and my daughter has Jupiter in cancer. My mom has Sun, Mars and Pluto in the 8th house, I have Mars in the 8th house and my father has Mars in Scorpio. I have Mars in the 8th, My daughter's 8th house is ruled by Mars. I Have Aries on the 11th and she has Mars in the 11th. My Daughter's Venus is almost in her 12th and I have Venus in Pisces. My daughter's moon is in the 11th and I have strong Uranian/Aquarian influences in my chart. I have Sun - Uranus Opposition and my youngest sister has the same However this includes her moon which is conj Uranus and Neptune. My Daughter has Uranus opposite her ascendant. I have Moon in Cancer, Venus in Pisces and Mars in Capricorn, Uranus in Libra - My Pisces brother has the same. His Moon, Mars and uranus in in T square aspect, as mine is not. He has a Pisces mercury, while my Mercury is the the 12th. My Gemini Sister also has Mars in Capricorn and this is opposite her Merc in Cancer and Asc in cancer...conj my moon and my Piscean brother's moon. My Pisces Brother has Libra Rising with Uranus conj the Ascendant, and my father is Cancer Rising with Uranus conj the Ascendant. 3 of my siblings have Venus square Saturn. On the chart comparison front my Scorpio brother has Saturn in Libra - both our Saturn's oppose each other's Suns. (I'm an Aries with Saturn in Taurus. My Pisces brother has Jupiter in Aquarius while my daughter had Jupiter in the 11th. My Taurus Grandma and I both have Mercury in Taurus and Jupiter in Sagitarius. So this is something I have studied about my family. Sadly all this came off the top of my head in 5 minutes. I'm sure if I actually went and looked at the charts I would find more, but I think I have put more than enough examples down....... ID IP: Logged |

Perhaps the closest I've seen is my best friend's family.The mother, father, son, and my best friend and her sister ALL have Leo ascendant within the same 5 degrees. ALL have significant water sign placements in their chart... Mom: Leo Asc, Pisces Sun, Taurus Moon
Dad: Leo Asc, Libra Sun, Cancer Moon
Friend: Leo Asc, Cancer Sun, Taurus Moon
Brother: Leo Asc, Capricorn Sun, Scorpio Moon

It's common to have astrological patterns running in families.Many on dad's side of the family have Scorpio Ascendants with Neptune in the first. My dad does have Neptune in the first but a Virgo Asc and so does my brother have both the Scorpio and Neptune. I know a grandmother who has her daughter's Sun on her Uranus. When the daughter gave birth 2 years ago, her son had his Sun on her (the daughter's) Uranus. So it will be intersting to see, if his children will have their Suns on his Uranus. There's a book on the subject called Planetary Threads by Lynn Bell.

Very, VERY interesting... I'll try to look into those books as well. As far as me and my sister, I just realised that those planets I mentioned take years to move into another sign so they are more 'generational'. I'm such a dummy! IP: Logged |

We have a Pisces dynasty going on in my family, my grandfather is a Pisces, so is my mother and so is my sister.

hmmmm...only thing I've noticed is we all have venus in scorpio, except for my sister.. and my dad's sun is the same as my ascendant
