Has anyone any experience of Ascendant-Pluto aspects in synastry? Or any interpretations for them?

OK, there should have been a question mark in that title, sorry.

I've found it really difficult to find any interpretations of Pluto/Ascendant aspects online.

The way I would see it, without any other guidance, is that the effects of these aspects are on the contributor of Pluto.

I suppose then you must consider what Pluto means, and whether the aspects are easy or not.

So, in the case of Pluto trine Ascendant - you might find Pluto is interested in/fascinated by/obsessed with/etc the Ascendant person.

I don't know. Anyone have an opinion on the issue?

Well this is kind of an oblique observation and probably not going to help with your issue. I have pluto (in 6th) conj DC and I am fascinated by this celebrity whose birthtime I do not know but am sure that have pluto in their 1st. I seriously am fascinated by them, and no, we do not have opposing rising signs.

My daughter has Pluto opposite my Ascendant - power struggles from the netherworlds....Her Pluto trines my Sun though....

But she also has Sun, North node and Saturn CONJ my Ascendant.

Inner Depths - Doesn't sound like she would accept any kind of normal parental control from you.

Mother/Daughter stuff can be hard at times.

23 - Sounds like you've made a guess at the celeb's ascendant, do you reckon it is aspected by your Pluto/Dsc combo?

No, this person's pluto would fall in my 5th, which of course would have some impact on me. Otherwise, there is no aspects in my chart that would be made to their pluto. I think the intensity is actually derived from his pluto being in his 1st and mine conj with DC

So what's their proposed Ascendant and what's yours? If you don't mind my asking that is.

I think they are a leo ac with ura on the asc, pluto also in first, gem sun. I'm an aqu with aries rising and have uranus in the 7th. I suspect we have trining asc.

I've had trouble finding pluto/asc synastry aspects as well.

I've read that they are similar to pluto/sun synastry aspects.

23 - my daughter and I have been to hell and back. She is one extremely strong willed and stubborn child and if she has it in her mind to not do something then a stand off ensues. It doesn't help with her mars opposite mine....ugh....My Aries Sun squares 4 of her Cancer planets....

BINGO! She doesn't accept it. Won't listen to me and always resists. So now she is spending more time with her father and she is improving under his watchful eye. He doesn't let her get away with anything. I attempted the firm parent only to have her laugh at me and move on. Maybe her father needs to be the stern disciplinarian and I'm the soft nurturing mom type to her....I guess i'll need to be there for support and encouragement...this year she'll be going to live with her dad ft...

I have Pluto in the first conjunct ascendant (by a wide orb) and also conjunct sun in the first... So everyone in my generation makes this contact of either their Pluto conjunct my ascendant or Sun (or saturn! ) in Libra

I think for the other person it would be influential if Pluto was a personal planet in their chart, otherwise I'm gonna be obsessed by everyone (which I am to a degree lol). I had a fling with someone who is a Libra with Venus in Scorpio and his Pluto conjunct my ascendant WOW!
I still think about it to this day, I think I'm the one obsessed but I'll never forget him! It was intense, In my experience was so healing for me because at the time I was so low and this experience brough me right back up again. It was perfect! Exactly as it should have been and transformed me... because I knew something like this was out there. Just wasn't meant to be though (long term)

I've read somewhere that the ascendant person can be manipulated (for good or bad) to change or be under the control of the Pluto person. This interaction validates Pluto and strengthens teh ascendant. It's transformational, could be power/control issues or sexual ties or both. Possibly a soul mate indicator?

Inner Depths I had a similar experience growing up. I am strong willed but too much so, I found my mother weak in ways but now that I am a mother I appreciate her more and more and our relationship is getting better all the time.
Hugs to you

oh, this is nice my significant relationships all had my pluto conjunct their ascendant. and i am not talking only about romance here. yes, they were deep relationships, but they were also very convoluted. and breaking up with those people is quite difficult, on both sides. there is also a bit of obsession, but it's not coming just from the pluto person (that is me). also, the ascendat person, i think, tends to look for support and understanding in the pluto person. just my 2 cents

Inner Depths - yes, that sounds like me as well. I had a very difficult power struggle with my mum but I think that it had to do with the fixed sign t-square we had together. But yes, I had a very strong will which my mum didn't really like as she was very much into control

Inner Depths – thanks for sharing that.

And while he's taking care of the discipline issues as she matures, you can try and experiment with the other sides of your Pluto connections; being there for her when she needs you, having deep conversations together and so on.

Dont forget that when we have something aspecting our ASC, is aspecting our DSC as well, according to Stephen Arroyo the ASC has the energy of Mars and the DSC the energy of Venus, so if we have ASC/Pluto connection can show something similar with the Venus/Pluto aspects.

I generally tend to think the Ascendant person doesn't feel the connection, but the planet person does. The former, however, is affected by the energy generated, and perhaps stuck with the behaviour!

In terms of the Sun, I think there is more chance of the Sun participating more in the connection than if it were the Ascendant, despite the obsessive qualities originating from Pluto, and the Sun might feel a bit overpowered controlled by the Pluto person's apparent feelings towards them.

Although, since there's not much consensus among astrologers on the issue, I don't suppose anyone can give a definitive answer outwith their own experience of these aspects.

Quinnie

"I have Pluto in the first conjunct ascendant (by a wide orb) and also conjunct sun in the first... So everyone in my generation makes this contact of either their Pluto conjunct my ascendant or Sun (or saturn!) in Libra"

I am similar because I have a Pluto/Venus/Moon conjunction, so everyone the same age as me throws a Pluto into that mix. However, the astrologer Zane Stein says that if someone has a natal aspect of this kind, they barely FEEL another's conjunction from a generational planet because they are so used to that type of energy to their personal planet anyway. It's heartening, however I do tend to have intense relationships.

Mhax – Fascinating concept, but doesn't it take ages to be touched by someone's Descendant? So, if this is so, that would be an aspect that would start demonstrating itself as a nice (or nasty!) surprise AFTER marriage? I like this idea. Makes sense.

well the aspects are not statics they are dynamics, specially with the progressions and transits and one aspect can be expressed in several ways, specially with Saturn, and the generational planets.

Well they're both. That's the nature of the Universe.

I'm finding my daughter is now being quite VENGEFUL towards me - today was a night mare and she destroyed a few of my things and trashed the bathroom floor at the age of six. I have been feeling quite ill and very much under the weather since last week. I've had an extremely bad headache since thursday of last week and I have not been able to do much - my ex still demands that I look after her during weekday afternoons - even when I'm really ill....

I have pluto conjunct ascendant with someone at work (im the ascendant)

and at the start when we first met there were power games (our first encounter was during a work lunch break which we had at the same time.. he would NOT STOP TALKING I COULD NOT GET A WORD IN and I got irritated and I cracked it and said I hate it when people talk so much.. this is really out of character for me because Im usually very polite with strangers.... and then after this happened awkward moments ensued)

He's pretty religious and I pretty much don't like what I have seen of his personality (very opinionated)
but god I am really really attracted to him physically and I started wanting him to like me (might be due to my shallowness though lol)

I couldn't really say if he felt the same way.

Does anyone know if these things are always both-sided?

edit: I forgot to say he is a leo sun/scorp moon and I am virgo sun/aqua moon/scorp asc so there's a good chance other synastry aspects are interplaying here like his moon conjunct my asc
