Hmmmmm.....veeerrrrry Interesting.....

Mr. Taurus has Sun in the 1st house...

I have Moon in Aries

but...I have my Sun in the 4th house and he has Moon in Virgo -

But if we look at it this way -

My moon is in the 7th house -which is the house of Libra ruled by Venus.

His Sun is in Taurus - also ruled by Venus.

That would be our connection both ways

AJ What do you think these aspects would bring to a relationship?

My Sun's in the 4th house. His Moon was in Cancer.

My Moon's in the 4th house. He was a Cancer.

Also, my Mercury's in Taurus, 3rd house. His was in Gemini, 5th house.

:::sigh::: lol!

Hm, not quite, but something along those lines...

My Moon's in the 3rd and his Sun's in the 3rd...

His Moon's in the 6th...and my Sun's most definitely not in Virgo.

Whoa I have that one as well with Mr. Aries:

my Sun in the 7th House
his Moon in Libra

Too bad I don't have his exact birthtime so I could check & see if all these sign & House placements are mutual. But it's still pretty darn amazing.

..And maybe these placements in synastry work on the same vibration as a Sun & Moon planetary linkage would?

scorpbaby & sassy -

That's what I'm trying to figure out, and started another thread on whether the House influences in Synastry are a sort of "diluted" version of the Signs. I mean, it would make perfect sense that these crosses influences would account for some attraction on whatever level.

dear gloria,

yes, i have seen evidence of compatibility re the houses/planets (firsthand!). i don't know how strong of an influence it is exactly.

this is my experience in my recent relationship:

him: virgo sun, virgo mercury
me: 6th house sun, 6th house mercury

him: gemini moon
me: 3rd house moon

him: 11th house sun, 11th house mercury
me: aquarian venus

him: 12th house venus, 12th house mars
me: piscean sun

i don't know, it was working out quite well. i believe the houses help add to the overall compatibility.

dear gloria,

hey i looked around and found this one article that perhaps you've seen, ok, actually i found 2 articles. they briefly mention what we're talking about here...
http://users.netonecom.net/~sos/Synastry.htm

"Be aware that a planet in any sign will have a strong character resemblance to a planet in that sign's natural house. Thus, Mars in Aquarius in one partner's chart will function similarly to an 11th house Mars in the mate's chart, regardless of its sign placement."

and my favorite:
http://www.thezodiac.com/room.htm

Okay... Here's an example of an affinity... Sun in Aquarius is similar in energy to the Sun in aspect to Uranus. Both of which are similar in energy to the Sun placed in the 11th house.

Extending it, they're also similar to Uranus in Leo and Uranus in the 5th house.

Some astrologers go as far as using the formula:

Sun in Aquarius = Sun aspect Uranus = Sun in the 11th House = Uranus in Leo = Uranus in the 5th house.

While I don't take it quite that far - the energies (and resulting life task issues) are most definitely similar. And for simplicity sake – I'll be using this formula in subsequent examples.

Here's the Formula:
A. Sun in Aquarius = Sun aspect Uranus = Sun in the 11th House = Uranus in Leo = Uranus in the 5th house

B. Moon in Aquarius = Moon aspect Uranus = Moon in the 11th House = Uranus in Cancer = Uranus in the 4th house

person a: Sun conjunct Uranus, Sun in the 11th house
person b: Sun trine Uranus

or

person a: Moon conjunct Uranus, Uranus in Cancer, Moon in the 11th house
person b: Moon sextile Uranus, Uranus in Cancer

These two people are dealing with the same life task issues encircling the archetypal energy of Uranus and "independence, freedom, excitement."

Okay now… Would this "shared affinity thing" be a wee bit more convincing... if I further told you that every "life-changing She" this guy has been involved with - the "life-changing She" has had the Sun in aspect to Uranus (and most had their Moon in aspect to Uranus)?

Another example:

Sun in Virgo = Sun aspect Mercury = Sun in the 6th House = Mercury in Leo = Mercury in the 5th house

person a: Sun in Virgo, Mercury in Leo
person b: Sun in the 6th house, Mercury in the 5th house

And while all shared affinities appear to have some validity in mutual attraction…. Shared affinities involving the Sun, Moon, Venus, and Mars aspecting the transpersonal planets of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto appear to be the most earth-moving, shattering, difficult, compulsive, transformative, and exciting affinities. (i.e. They have the old "Yee Haw," "Ooh baby, Ooh baby" effect!)

Final example:

Let's mix it up a little.

Here's the formula:
A. Sun in Scorpio = Sun aspect Pluto = Sun in the 8th House = Pluto in Leo = Pluto in the 5th house

B. Moon in Scorpio = Moon aspect Pluto = Moon in the 8th House = Pluto in Cancer = Pluto in (or conjunct) the 4th house

C. Venus in Scorpio = Venus aspect Pluto = Venus in the 8th House = Pluto in Taurus or Libra = Pluto in the 2nd or 7th house

D. Mercury in Scorpio = Mercury aspect Pluto = Mercury in the 3rd or 6th House = Pluto in Gemini or Virgo

E. Sun in Aquarius = Sun aspect Uranus = Sun in the 11th House = Uranus in Leo = Uranus in the 5th house

person a: Scorpio Sun
person b: Scorpio Sun, Sun squared Pluto, Pluto in Leo

person a: Moon in the 8th house
person b: Moon squared Pluto, Pluto conjuncting the 4th house (from the 3rd house)

person a: Venus in 8th House, Pluto in the 7th house
person b: Venus in Scorpio

person a: Mercury in Scorpio, Mercury sextile Pluto, Pluto in Virgo
person b: Mercury in Scorpio, Pluto in the 3rd House

person a: Sun square Uranus, Uranus in Leo person b: Sun trine Uranus

Hey chrissymgreen -

Just now got a chance to respond back. If I were giving away grades, you'd get an A+ on this. Great work. I highly recommend EVERYONE read these, as it is bringing up a lot of things discussed around here.

"...In my observation, the most powerful cross-aspects in love relationships are the man's Moon or Venus conjunct or oppose the woman's Sun, Mars, ascendant or ruler of the ascendant; and correspondingly, the woman's Sun or Mars oppose or conjunct the man's Moon, Venus, ascendant or ruler of the ascendant..."

If that is true, we can breath a sigh of relief ...

... and the following speaks to one of the most frequently asked questions ...

"...Have you ever compared the charts of two romantic lovers – and, in the end, you were stymied, stumped and basically bewildered as to what the attraction between the two people might be? Then look for "shared" affinities in the birth chart. Shared affinities say: "Don't I Know You?" Shared affinities say: "We've been dealing with the same "stuff" all our lives…" "

Thank you so much!

I know this is old but there is a guy I'm crazy about who I fit with this criteria. I have an SO and he is literally getting married tomorrow, but I just feel like we're the same in a lot of ways to the point that I feel like I'm dealing with a version or mirror of myself.

His Sun is in Libra Conjunct Saturn
His Moon is in Cancer

I'm a Cancer Sun
I'm a Capricorn Moon in the 7th Trine Venus

We have it with other things as well:

His Mercury is in Scorpio
My Mercury is in Leo Square Pluto

His Venus is in Leo Square Uranus
My Venus is in Taurus in the 11th

His Mars is in Scorpio Conjunct Uranus, Squ Venus (in Leo) and Sextile Jupiter
My Mars is in Cancer Conjunct my Asc and Sun in the 1st. Mars is also Inconjunct my Uranus and Jupiter Sextile (forms a Yod)

Other things worth noting that are weird:

My SO is an Aquarius Sun with Scorpio Moon, who was born on a Friday. I was born on a Wednesday.
His new wife is an Aquarius Sun with Aries Moon. His wife was born on a Friday, and he was born on a Wednesday.

My dad left when I was young, and I was raised by my mom. His mom left when he was young, and he was raised by his dad. We both had the same undergrad degree. His dad currently has cancer, my mom had a brain tumor and (thank goodness) only has a bit of the residual dead cell where most of it was removed.
