Can you see in a chart if a person has severe problems with the eyes/sight?

Hi Stella
Well I personally find the "ruler" of the eyes a bit confusing (but I haven't studied it at all)
Off the "top of my head"....

Aries rules the head, brain and eyes, so people with the sign Aries prominent in their charts are subject to head injury etc.

However I do like the thought that the eyes are the windows to the soul (ie Moon = soul).....so....

Cancers are more prone to cataracts and glaucoma than a lot of other zodiac signs, simply because it has rulership over the eyes and everything that goes on with them.

Hmmm then we move onto Aquarius (always the innovative sign) ruler of the third eye.....

Aquarius rules the rods and cones of the eyes--the black and white and color we see.

So like I say...I'm confused as to that but only because I haven't really in all honesty given it much thought before reading your post.

I'm Aries sun/Aquarius moon and I had pre-mature cataracts at age 20 plus growing up I had a stigmatism, lazy eye and near-sightedness. I don't have any Cancer in my chart but Aries rules the head and Aquarius is the third eye....who knows?

I recently read an article by someone who specializes in medical astrology (sorry I can't remember his name)that says the degree of the eyes is the midpoint between the ascendant and the 2nd House Cusp. The article also indicated that the House System is not relevant.

I have not actually experimented with this so I can't tell you how accurate this is. You might try looking at aspects to that degree and any significant aspects by transit.

Shieldrocks,

Do you remember when the pre-mature cataracts occured? You might look at charts for that specific time and see if there are any important transits to that point in your chart.

If any of you have any success experimenting with this I would love to hear about it.

Much Love,

Heidi

Interesting stuff.

I'm Cappy/Virgo/Virgo. I've been wearing glasses as long as I remember. Had several eye operations before seven. One eye don't see far, the other near. One optician once commented 'what brain you have'...

Checked this this Asc/2nd Cusp theory. If I use equal hs system, I have Uranus (almost) there, with Placidus the orb would be too wide. So, maybe I should try to get my 2 non- cooperative eyes and get to concentrate on 3rd?

Interesting inputs. Thanks!
I'm shortsighted, have nothing but MC in Aries, but Mars is in my 12th house. My Aqua Sun/Aries Moon son has very sharp sight, he can see stuff the rest of the family can't.
I asked, because I was looking at the planet positions on the birthday of this little girl who's very squint-sighted (is that the correct word in English? When the yes cross). It's so prominent it should show in her chart. She doesn't have anything in Aries, but I don't know the time of her birth and she might very well have Aries asc, that could fit her.

Hi Everyone,

The eyes according to Rex Bill's The Rulership Book are ruled by Aries first, then the Sun and third, the First House.

Secondary rulers would be Uranus, Aquarius, Neptune, Moon, Mercury.

The left eye of a male and the right eye of a female is ruled by the Moon.

The right eye of a male and the left eye of a female is ruled by the Sun.

Eyesight, itself is ruled by Mercury.

Hi, just found info about the rulership of the parts of the head:

quote:
Aries rules the head of the body--but there are some exceptions to this general statement too. Aries rules the BRAIN, and the SKULL. Other zodiac signs rules the eyes (Cancer), the brain covering (Cancer), the cheeks of the face (Cancer), the teeth (Saturn), sinus cavities (Cancer), Eustachian tubes of the ears (Gemini) and the bones within the ear (Saturn). Aries also rules the outer ears, the nose and skin on the face and head.

This came from a site in their medical astrology section, under Aries (as it happens ).

The index is at: http://medicinegarden.com/MedAstrology/index.html

cheers,
Lunargirl

Interesting....

My nephew is a Cancer sun with Aries rising, and he had to have eye surgery at the age of 6 to correct a "lazy eye".

My partner has excellent eye-site and he has mercury in scorpio trine moon in cancer and sextile Venus his chart ruler.

My eyesite is not good, I wear glasses/contacts since 7th grade. I have mercury rx opposite moon square widely neptune and semisquare saturn plus it squares my nodes. Right eye prone to infections too since is prone to dryness and I use contacts a lot, my chart ruler conjuncts saturn so I imagine that if eyes are an aries thing that the rising ruler plays a role in eye issues too..

Lets add that Neptune squares my Sun opposite Moon so if Moon is my right eye and Sun my left eye Neptune would blur vision! Plus my chart ruler is in the 12H conjunct Saturn.

I have no links to share but have extensively read online about this. I forget, because both my eyes are the same sign, but it's right based on Sun or Moon and opposite the left. Iir Moon is left. Sun is right. (MOTHER+Father) I'll see (pun there) if I can locate reading info on this to share. Also Aquarius is a detrimental place for Sun so that can lend bad sight potential- As well there are countless fixed stars when poorly placed can also create poor vision and/or blindness.

^ thank you for bumping this, Randall.

Although this [ http://www.horoscopeswithin.com/planets.php ] is a great page on the info I meant to share, it isn't the very same link.
