I just want to throw some stuff out from Martha Lang-Wescott's Astrology books on asteroids.

She lists Ceres,Demeter, and Niobe in regards to children.

so if you want to check out children, you might want to check those in your chart.

Child works excellent! I already did a post on my mom's solar arc Child stuff, and it's amazing! I am very convinced that Child works as children in the chart.

I will have to check her her transitings involving Demeter and Niobe. Our Ceres' aspect each other's charts, and so she was definitely having Ceres transits when I was born. She also had Sun conjunct Ceres in her solar return chart period when she had me too.

during my birth

her solar arc Demeter in 18'09 Leo square her natal Moon in 18'51 Scorpio, and that was triggered by my Mercury in 18'21 Scorpio!

that is amazing!

her Demeter is in 1'33 Leo,and my Pluto in 00'51 Libra sextiles that!...same as a transit. Solar Arc Node oppose her Demeter too.

Her Niobe is in 2'56 Gemini in 12th trines her Ceres in 2'58 Libra in 4th, and my Neptune in 1'48 Sagittarius opposes her Niobe and sextiles her Ceres.

My Niobe in 15'52 Pisces Retrograde trine her Mercury in 15'26 Cancer.

My Demeter in 6'30 Aries Retrograde squares her Mars in 5'48 Capricorn.

WHOOOAAA..

talk about a lot of children activity going on!

hahahahah

here is the child solar arc thread.

What would you say is the meaning of Niobe?
And didn`t they all, Demeter / Ceres and Niobe, lose their children?

I`m a bit unsettled, cause Niobe is exactly conjunct my NN.

"her solar arc Demeter in 18'09 Leo square her natal Moon in 18'51 Scorpio, and that was triggered by my Mercury in 18'21 Scorpio!"
It is, indeed, amazing, especially considering that some astrologers say Mercury signifies the child. Perfect symbolism in your case, and all exact.

well..Demeter/Ceres lost her daughter, Persephone/Proserpina to Hades/Pluto....but that can be about the empty nest stuff. The mother losing her child to marriage...or even well....the symbolism of the myth is girl becoming a woman

I posted a thread about that too,but nobody responded to it. It was about the parent-child dynamics and how it affects relationships. http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/020161.html

in the myth of Niobe, the theme was about excessive pride in one's children. She lost her children because she bragged about how she had more children than Leto, the mother of Apollo and Artemis. You know how foolish it is to compare yourself to the deities. Well..as punishment,Apollo killed all her sons. Artemis killed all her daughters. Yeah...the deities were nasty, but Eris gets a bad reputation because she's nasty. hahahahaha

The thing was that Niobe was blessed with all these children. She had 7 sons and 7 daughters. She should have been grateful to the deities for her fertility and children, but instead she compared herself to a deity(Leto) for having less children(Apollo and Artemis) than she.

You say that Niobe can be the myth of a children being one's pride and joy taken too far. That's how Niobe could play in the part. Niobe can be one's pride and joy in regards to children.

this is how Martha Lang-Wescott interprets Niobe

the asteroid,Niobe, then stands for an inordinate "pride in fertility and in children." It shows the perils that attend such an investment in one's children or procreative ability and indicates hard lessons in learning humility and detachment. It can show loss of children, separation from children, and long term grief.

where retrograde, the individual often is the instrument of his parents' learning regarding pride and ego-investment in children(them!) as delineated by the remainder of the aspect pattern. There is often inner fear of fertility and parenthood or some sorrow in connection with birth, virility, creativity,or children.

directions and transits of Niobe will demonstrate the evolution of the pride and its consequences.

it's not necessarily bad. Look at my mom, she had Niobe activity going when I was born...so it can be about having children too...not just losing children. It can be one's pride and joy(children) as the general meaning.

so none of them are actually bad or good..they are just neutral just like every astrological body.

Martha uses uranian astrology techniques, and so she looks at asteroids on dials with midpoints..even the asteroids involving in halfsums in the midpoint pictures. It seems to complicated, and so I don't bother using her system. I do like her info on asteroids. I just think that it's more simple to just look at the aspects involving without looking at midpoints. I like details, but I like to keep things simple. I am not a believer in the hypothetical transneptunians. I just can't get into them. I am definitely going to start using the transneptunians that astrologers discovered. Eris and Sedna are no joke. They seem to work with cosmobiological techniques with the use of 90 degree dials and midpoints.

Mercury is the ruler of my Mom's 4th house with her having a Virgo Imum Coeli. Interestingly, her mother had Moon in Virgo. I have Moon in 6th house. I see something hereditary going on there.

Ceres is one of the major asteroids, and one of the dwarf planets. It seems like a very significant astrological influence that most astrologers seem to overlook imho.
Ceres played out big time in events in my life in regards to my mother.

this is what Douglas Bloch and Demetra George wrote in regards to Ceres in their book,ASTROLOGY FOR YOURSELF. I got this book in 1999, and that's when I got into asteroids.

My mom's Ceres transits when I was born

Transiting Moon parallel her Ceres - '18 applying

She had double whammy Moon-Ceres transit in declinations
of course, those are our synastry aspects too

Glaucus-
Have you found any luck in your love life yet, having Jupiter in the fifth?

Nope...not yet.
I haven't really put much effort in regards to love, romance.

also transiting Neptune is square my Venus in 3rd exact today. That transit wasn't going to be good any way. That transit can indicate that I can get involved in bad relationships because I am too idealistic and possibly self deceptive in love, relationship matters.

Transiting Saturn is sextiling my Venus right now, and that can be good for being realistic, grounded in my love nature for a time.

I don't put much emphasis on sign and house placements. I focus more on aspects.

I wouldn't expect much from transiting Jupiter in 5th house alone, but transiting Jupiter in 5th trine my Pluto in 1st could be good, transiting Jupiter in 5th sextile my Neptune can be good.........I am sure that transiting Jupiter conjunct my North Lunar Node in 5th will be good. I will be having that along with transiting Mars and transiting North Lunar Node conjunct my North Lunar Node in 5th around Valentines Day. I am looking forward to that.

but yeah...I don't expect anything really with transiting Jupiter in 5th house alone.

also free will is the ultimate factor. nothing can come about if I don't do anything to help make it happen.

Are you a Virgo rising? If you are, Uranus is also transiting your seventh house now, right?
Anything happening there?

yeah...I have Virgo rising....13'27 Virgo Ascendant.

Transiting Uranus is in my 7th house, but it is not making any aspects...it's still a bit wide to trine my Venus. I use 2 degree orb for trine transits. It will start trining my Venus in 3rd around January.
Transiting Uranus will be in a grand trine with my Venus trine Orcus which is a large kuiper belt object named after a counterpart of Pluto. It could relate to transformation,intensity..especially with it being a plutino, same type of orbit as Pluto.
