can someone help me figure out the importance of Vertex in a chart.

His Natal Vertex is Libra

My Natal Vertex is in Aires

that means that my Vertex is his Asc
and vice versa for him (My vertex is his asc) and with his progressions his vertex is currently in Libra- should also mention my Natal Venus, Asc. and Uranus are all in Libra.

This would seem like it must mean something but what? anyone out there that has insight would be great!

thank you,
ladya

Hey Ladya -

This is all I had on file regarding the Vertex which comes anything close to Synastry. I'll try and see if I can find more specific information regarding Vertex Libra & Aries in Synastry :::

"VERTEX aspects (conjunctions) are similar to DESC aspects, sometimes even more important. The Vertex point is not a planet, but is a mathematical point that functions as a very sensitive secondary descendant point. Conjunctions to it by
another's planets can be very significant in committed relationships of all kinds."

AND

"Vertex and West Point in Synastry

In synastry, Pottenger has often found one of these points in close conjunction with a personal planet or one end of an angular axis belonging to the other person, where significant binding ties are involved. This may be the Ascendant / Descendant axis, the MC / IC axis, the lunar nodal axis, or even the other person's Vertex / Anti-Vertex or East Point / West Point axis.

Henson corroborates this finding with regard to the Vertex in particular, stating that its conjunctions to an angle or planet in another person's nativity 'may help explain strong associations between people... that otherwise do not seem to be indicated, or they may reinforce those that do have other indications'. She adds that the malign influence of a malefic conjunct the Vertex in synastry can be offset by a conscious decision by the Vertex person to express towards the planet person the sign quality of his or her Anti-Vertex."
