nannyfish, I'ts hard for me to communicate with fish because of my sixth house sun:>
To me today, love is a permanent gap that opens up when your feelings frighten you. And it sits there and scares you and when you lose that person, the fear goes away. Maybe love is not meant to do anything but frighten us, and it takes strength to cope with those feelings.
I believe Emily Dickinson was talking about being sorry she was born, she wanted to return to the womb where it was safe. So the poem is really about safety and fear of living-her mother had problems.
She had so many issues with herself she never felt she could love the correct way and she felt separate from herself.
Maybe she didn't know that love wouldn't fill the gap, or a mother's love, or knowing herself, it's love that creates that fear.
Maybe fear, and the gap are necessary?
When you start thinking this way, it's time to quit your day job. Plus I maybe falling for a young pisces.
Take Care,
Natasha
