Any fans? I've had this song in my mind on repeat so I looked up the lyrics this morning. How beautiful these are.

She's a Cap I think~

We Belong

We belong, we belong to the light
Many times Ive tried to tell you
Many times Ive cried alone
Always Im surprised how well you
Cut my feelings to the bone

Dont want to leave you really
Ive invested too much time
To give you up that easy
To the doubts that complicate your mind

Chorus:

We belong to the light
We belong to the thunder
We belong to the sound of the words
Weve both fallen under
Whatever we deny or embrace
For worse or for better
We belong, we belong
We belong together

Maybe its a sign of weakness
When I dont know what to say
Maybe I just wouldnt know
What to do with my strength anyway
Have we become a habit
Do we distort the facts
Now theres no looking forward
Now theres no turning back
When you say

(chorus)

Close your eyes and try to sleep now
Close your eyes and try to dream
Clear your mind and do your best
To try and wash the palette clean
We cant begin to know it
How much we really care
I hear your voice inside me
I see your face everywhere
Still you say

(chorus)

Yeah Lovely,,,,,I used to be into her....

I saw her at a gig years ago....must have been in the 80s I think. She looked so hot.....red leather jacket and a very short black leather skirt...and her voice....WOW...

My fave song of hers is Love is a Battlefield.....

Sue, she's a Cap with Scorp moon and Asc!!

I watched her in concert recently and she hasn't missed a beat. Still stunningly beautiful and her band was super-tight.

She is still married to her guitarist.
24 years!!

She was recently involved in a special called "Crossroads" on CMT... She sang with Martina McBride... who is another petite powerhouse... It was great...they both sound similar... My favorite has always been "Promises in the Dark"

Funny... "We Belong" has been in my head quite a bit for the last week or so, and I keep turning on the radio in the middle of the song. This is one of my faves. Beautiful!

Speaking of chick rock...

How about this Bonnie Tyler song:

My favorite line is "I can feel his approach like a fire in my blood."

"Where have all the good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where’s the street-wise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?

Isn’t there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and I turn and I dream of what I need

I need a hero
I'm holding out for at hero 'till the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero 'till the morning light
He’s gotta be sure
And it’s gotta be soon
And he’s gotta be larger than life
Larger than life

Doo doo doo doooo
Doo doo doo doooo
Doo doo doo doooo
Aaahhh
Aaahhh

Somewhere after midnight
In my wildest fantasy
Somewhere just beyond my reach
There’s someone reaching back for me

Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat
It’s gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet

I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'till the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero 'till the morning light
He’s gotta be sure
And it’s gotta be soon
And he’s gotta be larger than life

I need a hero
I'm holding out for at hero 'till the the end of the night

Up where the mountains meet the heavens above
Out where the lightning splits the sea
I could swear there is someone somewhere
Watching me

Through the wind and the chill and the rain
And the storm and the flood
I can feel his approach
Like a fire in my blood

I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'till the end of the night
He’s gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'till the morning light
He's gotta be sure
And it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life

I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'till the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'till the morning light
He's gotta be sure
And he's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life

I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'till the end of the night"

Yeah, I love both those songs.
Funny, I just burned a cd with 80s chick rock which included Pat Benatar and some fun old songs like Joan Jett's Bad Reputation.
Fun!

FU, weird huh? I think random songs fall from the sky and try to tell me something. I always seem to get songs I haven't necessarily heard in a while.

I;m gonna try to see Pat in concert this July. What a voice.

But I never liked that "Hell is for Children" song tho. So down tempo, so negative. what's up with that? It must have a some meaning I am not privy to.

Lovely, Thanks!
This is my fav Pat B song.

MysticMelody, WOW! brings back memories, I was a child when I heard this song for the first time and it wasn't on radio that I heard it. I was a fan of Jon-Erik Hexum and use to watch a show that he stared in, this was the theme song for it. It is weird how much it resonated with my soul, even then I was dreaming of that kind of Love.
A romantic to the end! LOL

I always liked this one:

Heartbreaker
Your love is like a tidal wave, spinning over my head
Drownin' me in your promises, better left unsaid
You're the right kind of sinner, to release my inner fantasy
The invincible winner, and you know that you were born to be
You're a Heartbreaker
Dream Maker, Love Taker
Don't you mess around with me!
You're a Heartbreaker
Dream Maker, Love Taker
Don't you mess around - NO NO NO!

Your love has set my soul on fire, burnin' out of control
You taught me the ways of desire, now its takin' its toll
You're the right kind of sinner, to release my inner fantasy
The invincible winner, and you know that you were born to be

You're a Heartbreaker
Dream Maker, Love Taker
Don't you mess around with me!
You're a Heartbreaker
Dream Maker, Love Taker
Don't you mess around - NO NO NO!

You're the right kind of sinner, to release my inner fantasy
The invincible winner, and you know that you were born to be

You're a Heartbreaker
Dream Maker, Love Taker
Don't you mess around with me!
You're a Heartbreaker
Dream Maker, Love Taker
Don't you mess around with me!

You're a Heartbreaker
Dream Maker, Love Taker
Don't you mess around with me!
You're a Heartbreaker
Dream Maker, Love Taker
Heartbreaker!

Hi Charlotte I don't know who Jon Erik Hexum is but the song was on the movie Footloose back in the 80's. Recently it was remade by a different artist for the movie Shrek 2 but I don't like the new version. Bad Reputation by Joan Jett was mentioned... that one is on the Shrek soundtrack too, Shrek 2 I think.
Who is Hexum? I might have to Google that if you don't see this.

We never have such artists coming to India ((((sigh))))
I *lowe* her, I always thought she was in par with Joan Jett.
Try listening to 'love is a battlefield' and 'hell is for children'-my personal favourite!

Hi! MysticMelody,
Sorry so late with my reply...
The series was called Cover Up and it stared JEH and Jennifer O'Neill, it ran in the early mid 80's, unfortunately JEH was killed in a weird accident involving a gun.
I was shocked when it happened, he was so young and filled with laughter and light.
