My aqua "friend" just broke up with me yesterday, saying he cannot be "just friends" with me anymore, it is just too difficult for him. I think no matter what you say to these aquas, they'll want the opposite. If you want to be friends, they want more. If you want more, they'll want "just friends". It seems like they always want they can't have. It's maddening!

Boy, can I ever relate...there is this Aqua guy at work whom I feel this intense mutual attraction to/from whenever we walk by each other...jeez...talk about mixed signals...one day he's obvious, the next, acts like he's never seen me before, ever. I can walk by him in the hall and smile and he will just look at you and say a quiet little hello, almost a whisper.

Even if nothing ever happens, it's kind of fun having a secret attraction and little mini day fantasies at work and getting paid for it haha...he's very tall (in the typical Aqua way) and handsome, but in that scientist/geeky way.

I have an Aqua moon so that probably explains why I'm attracted to him.

The Aqua that I proclaimed my feelings for hasn't contacted me in THREE weeks. We got into an argument and before I knew it I was demanding we exchange the personal belongings we had of eachothers.

I truly doubt he will ever contact me. He's already moved on and posted the photos on his myspace to prove it!

And you know it's funny, I can get over a man QUICK. But, I only knew him in person (online for 6 mos.) for about a month and it's been OVER a month and I still think about him everyday :*(

It makes me NOT want an Aqua, but still WANT an Aqua again OH SO BAD. Hmmpf. I want to experience a NICE Aqua man

Anyway, sorry, that was my two cents on you 'wanting to be more than friends' but him not. I think that when YOU confess, THEY RUN :P

Not to insult any aquas out there, but it sounds like they have a bit of a personality disorder...or they just can't make up their minds. Are there any relationship success stories out there involving an aqua man? I haven't heard one yet.

Thank you ladies for your replies.

I like to throw the Aqua friend thing back at them, give them a taste of their wicked, cold medicine!

It throws them for a loop....to out-Aquarian an Aquarian usually works.

When I said this to mine, "I could never be just friends with you" he just said "Oh...." and a very long pause after that.

Hell no, if you can not do what you need to do to be with me, then I WILL NOT be your friggin friend!!!

Let em sit and ponder that one with their airy, lofty minds floating hither and yonder through the icy mists of intellect....

Tho I still love them, takes one to know and understand them totally, hell, I do not even think even their own kind understand them!

I read a statistic once that claimed the sign that Capricorn women have the most marriages with is Aquarian. I think it was something like that. It was something one of those Mercurial types posted...maybe writesomething? It was from some website, but I don't think it really qualified the terms of the relationship or how the relationships turned out in the end.

GemGemGem, LOL, I said exactly the same thing in this thread:

http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum10/HTML/003013.html

I have yet to understand the line between Aqua personality and a personality order.

I am serious; some of the things he does (or some other Aquas do) are not all right at all.

But for all there blowing hot cold and tepid, Aquas do get under your skin. The only two men I've ever fallen hard for were Aquas and I still have feelings for both.Maybe I should date the opposite sign next? Leo men anywhere on here? .

Girls girls!!! The reason why your Aqua man will never insist on anything is because that would make them feel "needy". Oh yuck! Now I am an Aqua female but if someone said they only wanted to be friends, I would say "OK" even if it was the last thing I wanted because to say otherwise would make me sound needy and for an Aquarian that will never do. Neither will someone saying they need me, or give the impression that I am needed. I would immediately get a choking feeling in my throat and have to run like hell in the opposite direction. See, the word need? Not good. Puts us in that terrible "they need me, I'll never be able to leave, I'm trapped...forever...for the love of God....help me...position.
If you want an Aquarian may I suggest you adopt a completely masculine approach. Forcefully say you want us and then casually appear to lose interest more or less as soon as you have said it. Our over inflated egos (and trust me they are, otherwise we wouldn't be so bloody vain about being rejected) will not be able to stand that and will immediately begin a counter offensive to reel you back in. You see we have no problem being wanted. That appears to have no constraints attached to it other than your obvious good taste. But we see all sorts of constraints with being needed. So just give us the impression that you desire us but if we choose not to be with you thats ok, you will cheerfully move on.
We will then attach ourselves to you in that trusting and loyal way that Aquarians have.
Like dog training really. Never apply the choke chain!

Bunnies I'm taking notes...just incase I happen to date an Aquarian again. Actually I get what you say perfectly I have a merc/uranus conjunction squaring my mars so the idea of someone clinging to me and being mushy sends me full on sprint, it also sadly makes me very much more like a guy when it comes to relationships, maybe that explains why Aquas like me.

But.....the question was, what would one do when someone throws their "friend" stuff back at them???

They alway expect friends in everyone, every situation, what do they do when someone refuses "friends?"

What do they do when they are so darn enamoured with a woman, so infatuated, so in love (tho they seldom admit it to themselves or anyone else....)...

What do they do when the object of THEIR airy desires says....no....to one of the basic cop-outs of the Aqua male....

"friends....."

And Bunnies, Aqua females are FAR different than Aqua guys, have known both in my lifetime and there are always a few of each sex hanging around me, somewhere!

I am highly Aqua myself, so I get the whole Aqua thing, and I adore them can not live without them, but my Aquarian-colored Pisces soul temps to show them another side of themselves, a side only a witness can see.

Ah hippichick I do actually have a lot of experience of Aquarian males having been married to one for 7 years.
Can you imagine that? We both used to go quite peculiar if the question of emotion came up. He would go "Hhmmmph" into his chest hair and get all uncomfortable and I would breeze airily out of the door until all the awkwardness had died down.
We had no emotional interchange verbally in 7 years and we both felt quite comfortable with it.
He would DO incredibly thoughtful things for me so that I knew he loved me but actually say it? Would have cheerfully poked himself in the eye with a sharp stick rather than do that.
I do think the females are the same just a more yin version. But I do have a very masculine way in relationships. I hate to appear vulnerable and would rather lose the love than appear so.
Pathetic but true so....
Will your Aquarian be hurt if you don't still love him?
Of course.
Will he admit it?
Not a hope in hell.
Will he be hurt if you don't want to be friends?
No, because what in effect you have said to him there is, that it is so over there isn't even a word for it.
Do I recommend a relationship with one?
Yes I do, because if you ever get kidnapped in some far off location and you manage to get one phone call out, make it to him, because I guarantee no SWAT team will be as efficient at rescuing you.
Will he fling his arms around you with relief?
No he will Hmmmph into the chest and call you an ass.
Oh I have just thought up the archetypal Aquarian male! Colin Firth as Darcy in Bridget Jones diary 1 and 2.
Watch and learn!!!!!

The Aqua who told me just a few days ago he could not be "just friends" with me as it was too difficult for him, and broke off our friendship, came back and apologized to me yesterday. He said he wants me in his life and will be friends with me after all. Then he said something very unexpected..."I need you."

I am confused.

Well Lana we kind of communicated by osmosis. I shall explain.
We were lying in bed one night listening to the radio and the song "My heart will go on"(Titanic)was playing and I said jokingly thinking of Jacks heroics
"Would you come back and save me?" and he replied
"I would never have left you in the first place"
Now bear in mind this is all said without a hint of tenderness just a matter of fact logical reply.
"Ah" thought I "This is the correct response.
I then decided withoout informing him that we should marry at some point.
That point arrived on Millenium eve.
I organised the registry office, came downstairs dressed to the nines and told him that we would be getting married in a few hours time.
He was also dressed up and said and I quote verbatim "Ok let's go and get married"
I did ask him later on whether or not had he guessed and he said "Well I thought you might be up to something but I just let you get on with it"
Cool as you like.
And that is exactly how it happened.
The marriage ended this year and I have to tell you, that I knew less about him after 7 years than I did in the beginning.
And here is the freaky thing. I remember less about him and our marriage than I did about my other two husbands.
Thats Aquarians for you.
But if I ever get kidnapped in a far off place......!

Gem Gem Gem. the correct response is nothing.
Whatever you do (if you want him to be with you) DO NOT ask him to clarify what he meant by that.
As my Aqua husband once said to me and I kid you not
"I told you I loved you in 1999.Why do you need to be told again? Nothing's changed"
This with a perfectly straight face!
Just smile sweetly and say nothing!
