Twinsouls tend to have more of a complementary theme, while the mirroring is more often found in soulmates.

Well, both appears in both cases (natal - synastry - composite), but the scale tilts to complementary with twinsouls (at least how we tend to define them) and to mirroring with soulmates.

I don't know about the mirroring/complementary part, but the asteroid connection is also there.

Soulmaets/ twinflames tend to have these aspects, yes.
But not everyone who shares these aspects is soulmates/twinsouls.

Makes it a bit complicated, righ?

mirroring:
you share the same natal aspect.
For example:
You both have Venus-Pluto-aspect or Mars-Saturn
Especially if it is the same aspect, it will come up in composite as this aspect or as a conjunction/ opposition.

If you have different aspects, the composite aspect might be different than both of the natal aspects, and sometimes not even present at all, depending on the aspects and their orbs.

complementary:
The complementary planets are

Sun-Moon
Venus-Mars
(for the personal aspects)

on a broader level

Jupiter - Saturn

NEptune - Pluto
(some say Uranus-Neptune, but I don`t agree with that)

Now if you have Venus-Saturn-aspect and he has Mars-Saturn-aspect, that would be a complementary aspect.

"Other than this, what shud be there?"
Astrologers have many different opinions on this one.

While generous orbs migth still be valid, soulmates and twinflames tend to have several very tightorbed aspects between significant planets (max. 2 degrees).

There will be tight aspects, especially conjunction or square of personal or significant planets to

- the angles
(- Vertex)
- nodal axis

In fact if there is no such alignment with the angles and nodal axis, it is very questionable if these are soulmates at all.

Soulmates also will have strong (tightorbed, dynamic aspects) alignment of the lunar symbols, including IC, Moon, nodal axis, Lilith and Priapus

It seems that connections to the IC are more indicative of soulmates or soulfamily, but not necessarily romantic.

Romantic soulmates will have a strong triggering of their 7th and especially their 8th house.
Specifically in aspect to the 1st and 2nd house of the other person (of these the connection 8-2 seems to be the most profound, deep and soulconsuming).
I also found that connections of 7th and 8th house to the 4th house, oftentimes give a feeling of belonging, though it is usually not romantic on its own.

Sometimes you can see complementing souls from the chart visual alone.
Sharing personal planets in the same sign (usually complementary planets), but in a different hemisphere.

Example:
Girl has Moon in Virgo in 4th house
Boy has Sun in Virgo in 10th house

As for me, I'm not sold on the TF idea, or at least that it's so rare, 99% of people are involved in a karmic/soulmate relationships...

These are our hardest relationships, the one that will make you pull your hair out, so scream for mercy..
SM relationships are learning experiences, that have a specific purpose... Learn a lesson, clear karma... Etc etc..
Majority of the time, since we are humans and we make mistakes, we create more karma with said person..
I also believe each of us has many SM, some romantic, some platonic, some relatives, co workers.. Etc etc..

I've recently ended my worst karmic/SM relationship.. It feels like TF, and destiny is apart of it.. But it almost killed my entire being.. The torture of the whole thing, was like ripping my head and heart out, stomping on them, then putting my heart in my head, and my brains in my chest, with the nerves running crossed, and mixed, tangled, and lord knows what else. leaving me feeling like wtf is wtong with me... Pure torture..

But either way that's just my opinion, others my or may not agree... Which is fine...
Everyone should go with what they believe..

If your with the person, than just go with it.. Let nature take its natural course...
If your not with him, maybe it's karmic, maybe it's something else.. Idk... But again maybe at a later time..
