Topic: Is love at first sight real? or Is it just plain ole LUST?

Hello guys...This really kept me wondering... How can you really love someone at first sight? Just as a test... If you truly truly loved someone at first sight and he got struck by lightning then and there, would you cry your little heart out because you truly loved? <-- just a sarcastic supposition. People talk about Love at first sight quite often but I think it's just plain old lust, not love. You see someone, they look good, and carry themselves well. You don't really know him / her enough to say that you are in love. What if he's an ***hole? Just a thought. Maybe I am too old and have seen too much to believe in fairy tales...  Miss Muffet

I do believe in love at first sight.Maybe love is not the right word but... a 'knowing'... that is more than lust. Obviously, it's not the same kind of love you have with someone who you've been with for years...but..there is the seed of that, maybe...that you recognize...when you see someone. just my guess... well he could be an ass-soul; but maybe you're an ass-soul too and just aren't aware of it yet.  i believe in people mirroring us therefore we know the person teh way we know ourselves. if you feel chemistry with someone right off and your chest and lower chakra flare simultaneously this is a person you can love instantly..and have lust with.

But... what about for blind people?hehe sorry nicking thspark.com's joke there... I don't really believe that as I've always felt the very definition of love includes a feeling that grows over time. Love can be passion but well, knowing a person really well too. 'Love at first sight' is simply feeling an unusual pull or attraction someone IMO. IP: Logged |

I do believe in love at first sight (being a pisces with libra moon, I'm very romantic and idealistic!)
When I saw my boyfriend for the first time I immeadiately "recognized" him, there was something so utterly familiar, fascinating and beautiful about him, I instantly felt really strong towards him (that was 2 years ago, I was involved with someone else at that time) We've now been dating for a couple of months and I am happier each day!IP: Logged |

Love only seems to "grow" because it takes time for us to love from our souls which is where love comes from rather than our ego. I know love at first sight is possible because I have felt it. Love is a force,i know it's cliche but you will know real love when you feel it. It's unmistakable.. Sure it took me time to verify logically that its love, real love but I knew it from the day i felt it. Love at first sight occurs when we love with our souls than our egos Imo like in a twin flame meeting.

Absolutely--I think you can get a sense right away that you have a lovely connection with someone. It isn't necessarily romantic or sexual--you can also have it with a friend connection, or just a sweet soul who you'll always adore.But, that said--love of all kinds can grow even when there's not an instant recognition of it. AND the intense lust and chemistry some of us feel when we meet doesn't translate, on its own, into a healthy and non-hurtful relationship, let alone a big love connection. But I DO believe in the power of first impressions, intuitively. Often, the very first flash we feel when we meet someone--before we've formed a story about them in our heads--gives us a true picture of their character and what they're like. And then as we get to know them, we form more intellectual/emotional, less-intuitive impressions that may well be less accurate. IP: Logged |

I tend to feel love and lust simultaneously.And what i mean by that is that i get sexually attracted to someone and fantasize about them a lot. And most of these fantasies are not exclusive to bedroom imaginnings i.e I fantasize about us talking and flirting, moving in together, our 1st fight and make up to make out, me meeting their family and all that. I have never been able to successfuly differentiate between the two really. As i dont forget about the people that i have had fantasies about. Once i knew just how powerful the momentum of those imaginnings were, was when one of them saw me aboard the bus and said "Didnt we used to work together?" And after i pretended to remember(all the while knowing who he was), there was a lof of flirting, winking and subtle body language. So i decided to bite the bullet and asked him to visit. He came. And we got to do all the things i had been fanatsizihg about all those years back  Afterwards, i wanted more. But i think it was just lust on his side and i was hurt beca6se he git all evasiveand weird. But clearly i dont hate him because i would be nice to him if i saw him again. I think i had practised the thought so much and for so long and stayed in expectation, that it had to happen. There was just too much momentum on him specifically for it not to manifest at some point. This was not obsession as much as it was "knowing" it would happen. But not knowing how it would or when.
