I love TED talks! This one is not exactly easy to hear if you're caught up in that rut of romantic unhappiness, but it can provide some important food for thought and, maybe, change. I relate a lot to it and I'm coming exactly from that place. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmUayKnHWWM IP: Logged |

In class two years ago, students began mentioning it, and I was clueless.IP: Logged |

SDragon I found many TED ideas worth thinking about and, yes, spreading. Hence, this thread. IP: Logged |

They are very picky about who they let on, too. It's not like YouTube.IP: Logged |

One of my professors (who is brilliant, by the way) wanted to be one of their speakers, but there were so many hoops to jump through that she got discouraged. IP: Logged |

I really like the TED talks too. I haven't seen them in a while but I have bookmarked many of them. , your professor should still pursue it. The quality of those talks are golden sources of information and insight and many are very inspirational, so if she has something to share, she should "go through the fire" of selection process. If she does it, please post her title here and show time so I can watch it! IP: Logged |

Interesting...thanks for posting it. It's nice that she finally 'gets it' I've been where she is for several years now, when I was widowed 8 years ago I did some serious self introspection and my thoughts and attitudes have changed so much about meeting someone and what I need from a relationship as opposed to what I wanted. I particularly like the comment about dating not being a numbers game..why does no one believe me when I say it? Lol and...the being on your own for while? Yes! Thankyou! I've spouted that for a while too but I think people assume it means I use it as an excuse to not meet anyone!Good for her though, she's changed her perspective, I'd like to meet someone and fall in love but not to escape anything, I've got a handle on the other stuff, it's the actual love part I'd like..glad to see she's spreading the word!
