excerpt from an email i just wrote to an earth sign friend: quote:
It always amazes me how many good women are attracted to obvious, pretentious douches.. they just want some guy who speaks up, even if he is talking out of his ass; somebody who takes charge and leads the way, even if its in the wrong direction. Its probably kind of your own fault, a little, though, for not pushing. You earth signs think you have all the time in the world.. then some douche swoops in and steals the girl. Thats how it goes. Women want enthusiasm.. even dumb-ass enthusiasm. You earth signs always try to do things the right way, and its admirable, but some douche always gets it done first; half-assed, but done.

LMAO!! Too true. However, I'd like to point out that while some of the biggest jerks I've dated where NOT earth signs, there where a few that where. I dated a lot of Picseans and Scorpios (with the occational Cappy) before I got to my Taurus hubby. It also dosen't hurt that he's got a decent ammount of fire in his chart as well to give him that "speaking up, forward moving" qualities that I needed in a spouse. Thank you for bringing this up Valus. I was actually saying something similar to a friend of mine last night. IP: Logged |

Admittedly, I was married to a Capricorn whose sole mission was to 'provide' only, even though I couldn't care less about material things. Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate certain material comforts, but I'd prefer to live in a run-down shack and share a bed with who I love and laugh together instead of just Zzzzzzzzz...............So yeah, earth sign guys without enough zip in their chart need to lighten up or find a nice girl to 'provide' for because money ain't nothin' honey, especially if you don't know how to have fun!! And speaking of douchebags: http://www.hotchickswithdouchebags.com/ ... guys being catty to each other lol IP: Logged |

Weellllll, it depends on whether you have an appreciation for quality or not. You know, slow-cooked real food over a takeaway. This made me laugh: quote: Women want enthusiasm.. even dumb-ass enthusiasm.
Well, maybe girls do, real women don't, at least not this real woman. It takes much more than some gobby-bollocks to seduce me. If he's going to rush the seduction what else is he going to rush? Ya know, ya know? It's amazing how lightning fast an earth-influenced man can be if he senses danger from, say, an Aquarian with a sharp wit who's after the girl he wants. Believe me, I've seen it happen and it only took him 3 years to make his move. He could have had me sooner but he has INTEGRITY. I love a bit of integrity. Earthy people have it. And no, he didn't try to outsmart the Aqua with words and charm, he simply sat his big meaty Cappy rising arse on the tail-end of my coat and said "Don't" and would not be moved, and looked at me with big pleading chocolate brown cow-eyes,about an inch from my face. I got the message. It was very effective. No words were necesserehh. No animals were harmed. He has no fire in his chart and very little air, so why try to be something you're not? Horses for courses. Mmmm, Cappy rising, Pluto and Uranus exactly conjunct in Virgo, NN and IC in Taurus. Hubba hubba. Depths to be plumbed, yowzer. Mmmm, break me off a piece of THAT. Big tall chunky real man who knows his natural fibres from his nylon. I am really digging my Mars in Taurus. Personally I'm rather tired of Leos and Geminis. Had a titful of 'em, bless their douchebag souls. Always yapping away. Yap yap yap. Bluh bluh bluh BLUH. I'll take the bean stew with the oaty bread. Keep your Cheez Wizz. I would suggest to your friend that if he's being outwitted by fire and air signs, to just literally sit on the girl. She can't go off with anyone else if she can't move. ETA: He has got three planets in air actually. My mistake. IP: Logged |

Nah, he's just frustrated with douchebags, the women that go after them and his lamo Earth friend. He'll get over it in a couple of decades. But then he's a Scorpio. He has no problems with seduction, unlike us lesser mortals. He just has to use The Stare. B@stard.

LTT! Hello! In times like these I am reminded of the Pointer Sisters. It happens. Slow Hand Pointer Sisters As the midnight moon, was drifting through The lazy sway of the trees I saw the look in your eyes, lookin' into mine Seeing what you wanted to see Darlin' don't say a word, cause I already heard What your body's sayin' to mine I'm tired of fast moves I've got a slow groove... On my mind
I want a man with a slow hand I want a lover with an easy touch I want somebody who will spend some time Not come and go in a heated rush I want somebody who will understand When it comes to love, I want a slow hand On shadowed ground, with no one around And a blanket of stars in our eyes We are drifting free, like two lost leaves On the crazy wind of the night Darlin', don't say a word, 'cause I already heard What your body's sayin' to mine If I want it all night You say it's alright We got the time 'Cause I got a man with a slow hand I got a lover with an easy touch I found somebody who will spend some time Not come and go in a heated rush I found somebody who will understand When it comes to love, I want a slow hand If I want it all night Please say it's alright It's not a fast move But a slow groove On my mind 'Cause I got a man with a slow hand I got a lover with an easy touch I found somebody who will spend some time Not come and go in a heated rush I found somebody who will understand When it comes to love, I want a slow hand IP: Logged |

Interesting advice, wheels. I personally appreciate a bit of possessiveness in a relationship. I also like being the woman(duh!), the pursued one, the prize. Sometimes role reversal is fun but don't let me believe I have conquered you. (Power games are a great past time activity ) You want me? Come and get me. Want to keep me? Make an effort, engage me, amuse me, make love to me like no one before and I'm yours. Don't want me? See you later. Have a nice life and don't let the door hit you in the a$$. "Live and let live" is a fine line in a romance novel. "Go get what you want and don't let it go without a fight" is what I live by. Life's too friggin' short and we are not getting any younger. MVM,Great link! Hot chicks w/ douches, indeed. Its a freaking epidemic! Wheels,
I'm on a crappy laptop with no mouse and copy/pasting is a b!tch, or I would specifically point out the half-dozen witticisms you just tickled me with. Of course, you make good and necessary points, but, then, so did I. Between the two of us, we may yet get the whole story told. Anyway, I was probably being hasty and harsh with my earthy friend, who is most likely innocent of the afore-mentioned charges. As I told him this morning, I believe I may have contracted a slight case of bias on account of a few recent encounters with several slow-poke earthers. I would, though, have to disagree with you on counting your Cappy Ascendant friend as an earthy person, unless he has an especially strong Saturn, or at least a few strong aspects from his personal planets to those generational Virgo influences. I've got a Cappy Rising myself, a Virgo NN, a Taurus Chiron and IC, as well as a nice little sextile from Saturn (asc ruler) in Virgo to my Stellium on the MC. While I'm more than willing to credit these energies for providing me with a good deal of appeciation for quality and even a semblence of integrity, lol, I would not go so far as to suppose that they qualify me as a significantly earthy person. Yin,
Excellent points. That's all I'm trying to say.

Have you really got a Cappy rising? I hadn't realised. Well done on another good thread, which relieved the boredom for me today, as it's been particularly slow here. quote: As I told him this morning, I believe I may have contracted a slight case of bias on account of a few recent encounters with several slow-poke earthers
That Taurean eh? He has got a laser show of aspects from that generational Pluto/Uranus thingy. In my ponderings of him he's as much earth as water, but open to discussion. (ETA: Well, maybe not, considering all the aspects to Neptune in Scorp). Never seen such a mad chart really. What say you? quote: "Go get what you want and don't let it go without a fight"

i have to admit that the original post is the antithesis of what i would say to a man! while i love someone with wit and sparkle, when it comes to relationships i want to know who i am dealing with before i get "involved". and enthusiasm is great but it does NOT make up for integrity, depth or selectivity. i did let a fire guy talk me into a relationship once, but even he had a fair amount of earth going..and he was an earth ox!i would much rather know the guy wants me knowing who i am than because of some instantaneous feeling! that said i have known pretty instantly with most of my significant others...KNOWN, but NOT acted, immediately. i COMPLETELY mistrust glibness and opening "lines" and run a mile from pushy interest of any kind. Wheels!! (Saturn conjunct Sun probably establishes his earthiness just fine.)As an Earth sign male, I've never had trouble getting together with Masculine Suns or Cancer Suns. I've had trouble with fellow Earth signs and the other two water signs. I haven't had much opportunity with the other water signs to tell the truth, so I'm not sure how that would be. Pisces might mess with my own Mutable energy too much. With Earth signs, I've had a couple near hook-ups, but they didn't materialize. It's a strange dance. Definitely feminine in nature. It's too bad. Wouldn't mind lezzing out with some feminine signs from time to time. If inaction is a lack of fire, my three fire planets are all in the masculine 7th, so I don't think that's a big issue. I also have up to three planets in the 5th (Uranus goes both ways, imagine that). IP: Logged |

LOL @ lezzing out, AG It's interesting - I have this damn unaspected Virgo sun in the 5th, Mars Taurus and rising.... and I dig on the earthy males but in the long-term I've found that maybe I need to stay away from the ones with too much earth lol. I think it's difficult at times because as much as I like the *solidity* of a relationship, if you can't strike a balance between seriousness and fun, then it's just not going to work in the long-term, period. And yeah, earthy guys WILL move VERY fast IF they see and know what they want, because they won't want anyone else to have it That, I like. But can't that be said about most men ? Hmmmmm .... I also prefer to take things slowly in the beginning too (despite my feelings usually getting the best of me, which is why I will try to breathe through the feelings lol)... but then once I'm in, I want the excitement and zaps of change. I SO cannot handle ruts in relationships. It drives me nuts. I wonder sometimes if it's my Moon/Uranus opposition.... staying one way with someone for a looong time is SO effing BORING. And I don't mean fidelity - I mean the whole routine of the thing can get monotonous. It's probably my own past (rather boring and emotionally draining) marriage experience talking, so I dunno. All I know is that I came close to killing myself (literally) in that suburban hell. Actually, this thread is spurring thoughts of starting another one about that mess, because I am curious about some of this stuff.... hmm

Aww, wheels, thanks, i do my bestest. Yup, Cappy Ascendant all the way -- i got it like that. where's my chart, dabnabbit... Whole Signs Rule!!! quote: That Taurean, eh?
Mostly, yeah. But what irks me is the thought that she might be right, and I wasnt offering quality. I'll be nursing this grudge at least until I reincarnate as a Sag. quote: What say you?
I say its one hell of a cool chart, but Kurt Cobain's is the "maddest" i've seen. Nietzsche's is sick, too. Okay.. well, the Sun/Saturn is wide and in Pisces, so, I'm not going to concur with AG on that. However, Saturn tightly opposing the Virgo planets, and in stellium with Chiron, Mars, and Mercury definitely speaks to me. The square to Jupiter is intriguing too, especially in light of the entire configuration. Oh, and Mars in Pisces exactly trine Neptune is one of the coolest things I've ever heard of. And, hey, his Venus conjuncts my Moon by a few minutes... I bet he would take a shine to me. And in the first house; he probably looks like a young Paul Newman or something, eh? You should call him Slow Hand Luke. Then ask him if he wants to trade charts with me. IP: Logged |
