Recently I went to use a gift card I received at Christmas and had an odd experience: Couldn't remember stuff while there--missed coupons, etc.

When I went back yesterday, I overheard a conversation that a sales person was having with another customer. The customer looked shocked and almost disoriented at how their order went down.

This may sound odd, but is store K using "magic" to help them get sales--customers forgetting about things (using gift cards, etc.), so they would have to come back or are their employees just well trained to take advantage of customers by hurrying everything up, so you have less time to think?

It makes you feel swindled.

Yes.

The lady I overheard was told they had closed the cash drawer and couldn't run the gift card through.

They also had some bad reviews online on the website pissedconsumer dot com. Many customers complained that when the store made an error, you paid for it in losing money. One woman received 55 items instead of the 2 she ordered. It took her 2 trips to the store to return them. The inside of the back of her SUV was filthy from the bags and boxes. She was already having back problems (ruptured disk) and now has more problems. The reviews were from December last year and January this year.

Wow! Sounds like just a really poor ran store with not good training or customer service. Like it all done half ass around there.

Yep. It seems like all the stores here that are having trouble making sales are being run like that.
