Hi every one lets start out this very special string!

-Does anyone have anything basic to share. I mean any kind of information and knowledge about magick and nature?

-Does anyone have any basic rituals that almost anybody can do? For example a ritual bath.

-How about spells? I know this is would be a touchy subject, but I guess "A Feel Good Spell" or "Beauty Spell" woudn't hurt. (Although I don't recommend a Love Spell that would be against Free Will.)

-How about some recipes? Candle Magick?

-Any poetry or chants that people can share?

-I know there is great author named Silver RavenWolf that writes a lot about Wicca. Are there any good authors that you know?

We can call this place "The String of White Light" from LindaLand.

Hey Starlover

Here are 2 Love Spells that I found......

This is a simple and easy Love Spell that takes no time at all. You do not need a lot of ingredients and they will not be hard to hunt down. This spell will make you much more desirable to the opposite sex and is sure to raise your confidence.

Materials:
1 pink candle
1 bottle of 100% Virgin Olive oil
Something to light the candle

Process:
Take the candle and place it on a table or your altar. Now take the olive oil and rub on to the candle starting in the middle and going up, then starting in the middle going down. While purifying the candle with the oil, you want to recharge the candle with love and desire, so visualize love and channel all your emotion into the candle.
After the oil is finished, take a knife and carve what it is you want into the candle.

EXAMPLE: I Wish For "Jane Doe" to love me

After finished writing in the candle, simply light it and concentrate on love and throw as much emotion (love) into the flame of the candle as possible, you may even want to add words if you wish. Sit and do this until the candle has burnt out. Make sure you are comfortable and won't be bothered. The more you feel sexy, the more this spell will work for you!

Once the candle has burned out, the spell is finished.

Quick and Easy Love Spell 2
Another basic love spell for the uninitiated or inexperienced that is designed to bring back a lost love:
Light:

A Red candle (South)
A Green candle(North)
A Yellow candle(East)
A Blue candle(Water)
Two pink candles
Position the candles at the corresponding corners. Hold the two pink candles in your hands and face the red candle(south). Chant the following until you feel satisfied:

"Beautiful Goddess, powerful God, hear my prayer! Lords of fire, burn my desire, times three If it is meant to be, Bring *NAME* back to me."

Obviously chant the name of the person you want to come back to you. This is known to work as well as scientifically proven pheromones

I found these on the web so for anyone trying these out, I have no idea if they work or not
Let me know if you try them and they work.

And here's some more......
The article says......

There are many, many different kinds of Love Spells. There are a couple of things to remember before casting these very powerful love spells.

Never cast a spell that includes words you don't understand. If you want to try that spell, change the words!
A spell that is designed completely or partially by you has a closer connection to your personal power. It will be easier for you to do and more powerful and effective. Feel free to tinker, but keep good records in your book of shadows so that you can repeat the successful ones if desired.

#1-To Find a Lover-

Every Friday night coming to completion on a full moon Friday night, throw salt on an open fire with your right hand while speaking these words "It is not salt I turn to fire , but the heart of the man/woman I seek. Let him have no peace of mind until he come to me".
This spell must be cast three times on each occasion. On the third occasion the wording should be altered slightly to "It is not the salt I turn to fire, but the heart of the man/woman I seek. He/she shall have no peace of mind until he/she come to me". This ends the spell. The person sought usually appears within a few weeks.

#2-To Know How Soon You Will be Married-

On any Friday take rosemary flowers, bay leaves, thyme and sweet marjoram, of each a handful. Dry them and grind them into a fine powder. Then take a teaspoon of each and mix them together. Then take twice the quantity of barley flower and make the whole into a cake with the milk of a red cow. This cake is not to be baked. Wrap it in clean writing paper and lay it under your head on any Friday night when you retire to bed. Sprinkle your pillow with a few drops of very pure Human Pheromones. If the person dreams of music they will shortly wed the one they desire. If the person dreams of fire then the love will be tainted and they will not marry the one they desire. If the person dreams of a church they will die single. For this to work the paper has to be completely blank.

#3-To Attract a Lover-

Get a two or three inch piece of copper tubing. Write the name of your intended on a piece of paper seven times. Place the paper in the tube and close its ends with a pair of pliers. Wear the tube around your neck for seven days and your intended will come to you.

Well those are some that I found but please everyone remember I do not know anything about spells or if they work or not

Candle Magic
by Pamela English
Candle burning is one of most simple forms of magic. It can be performed most anywhere and candles are really easy to purchase. The basic principles are to concentrate, visualize and focusing (willpower) on the candle as a symbol.

Candle magic can be used for overcoming bad habits, attracting things, settling disturbing atmospheres, protection, regaining health, developing psychic powers, etc...

Basic Preparations
To start you should cleanse your space, relax have a positive state of mind. Choose new, unused candles, and do not use the ones you choose for any other purpose.

Make sure your space is quiet, except if you want to use soft music. It's a good thing not to eat or engage in sexual activity before any magic ritual. A "cleansing" bath is also a good thing before.

Give the candle some of your personal vibrations. This will give the wax your thoughts, desires and life-force. You can also use an essential oil on the candle. The energy from your hands will pass into the wax. Always start rubbing the oil from the top to the bottom when anointing a candle. Then go from bottom up to the center of the candle. While you are oiling the candle think about what you want to accomplish. Visualize success and see your desires accomplished.

Candles and Color
Color is very important in candle magic. Color has subtle influences and each one vibrates at a different frequency. Because of the different effects of color on the human psyche and the surrounding environment, different colored candles are used for different magical end-results. These colors and their vibrations are also closely linked with the cosmic forces which in this book are personified by the Planetary Angels. Each color in the spectrum is connected with the astrological signs of the Zodiac and their planetary rulers. Below I have listed the main colors used in candle magic together with their magical significance's and the influences of each astrological sign.

White represents purity, spirituality and peace. In some cultures it is the color of death and mourning.

Red symbolizes health, energy, strength, sexual virility, courage and the masculine principle in Nature.

Pink is associated with romantic love, affection and friendship.

Yellow is the color of the intellect, the powers of the creative imagination, memory, communication and mental agility.

Green equals abundance, fertility, good luck and harmony.

Blue is the color of healing, truth, inspiration, higher wisdom, occult power and psychic protection, understanding, good health and the feminine principle in Nature.

Purple symbolizes success in financial affairs, psychic ability of a highly-developed form, idealism and spiritual power.

Gold attracts positive influences and it's connected with justice and career matters.

Silver represents clairvoyance, astral energies and channeling, also the faculty of far memory and remembering past lives.

Astrologically, the colors and their correspondences are classified and related as follows.

Aries (March 21 April 20) Ruling planet - Mars. Shades of red, usually the darker shades of scarlet or crimson. Magically the planet Mars is the purifier and destroyer who sweeps aside the stagnant, the unwanted and the redundant so progress can be made. Alternatively, the planet of war also represents the creative principle and the unconscious urge for the human species to reproduce itself, for life and death are two aspects of the same energy.

Taurus (April 21-May 21) Ruling planet - Venus. Green, ranging from the palest apple green to the dark olive of the earth forces. In magical lore the Venusian energy represents the spiritual desire to unite the opposites and balance the dual forces of male and female. This union was known to the medieval alchemists as "the sacred marriage" and is symbolized in magic and Wicca by the ritual metaphor of the sword in the chalice.

Gemini (May 22 June 21) Ruling planet - Mercury Yellow is the color of this Zodiac sign representing communication and the power of the mind. In occult tradition Gemini is a symbol of the dualism which manifests from the transcendental Oneness and of magus who acts as a go-between carrying messages between Middle Earth and the Otherworld.

Cancer (June 22-July 22) Ruling planet - the moon. Metallic blue and silver are the colours of the lunar sphere. It is the realm of the unconscious, the hidden side of the personality and psychic forces.

Leo (July 23-August 23) Ruling planet - the sun. Its colours are gold and orange. The sun represents the life force and is the visible symbol of the Cosmic Creator in the solar system.

Virgo (August 24-September 23) Ruling planet - Mercury. Reddish-yellow is the colour associated with this alternative aspect of Mercurial energy It represents the analytical abilities of the mind symbolized by the quest for scientific knowledge.

Libra (September 24-October 23) Ruling planet - Venus. Libra's colours are sky blue and rose pink. It symbolizes the heights attainable by romantic and spiritual love.

Scorpio (October 24-November 22) Ruling planet - Pluto. Dark red or silvery gray The energy of the Plutonian sphere is connected with Mars and represents death and regeneration. It has rulership over the underworld, the spirits of the departed and nuclear power.

Sagittarius (November 23-December 21 ) Ruling planet - Jupiter. Purple and royal blue are the colours of this Zodiac sign. It is an expansive planetary energy connected with the world of finance and social matters.

Capricorn (December 22 January 20) Ruling planet - Saturn. Black is the primary colour of the Saturnian energy It rules karma, fate and destiny, the law, old age and property matters.

Aquarius (January 21-February 19) Ruling planet - Uranus. The colour of this astrological sign combines all the shades of the spectrum in a flashing rainbow pattern. This planetary energy is a higher octave of Saturn and has rulership over magic (forces, astrology and modern technology like television, video and computers).

Pisces (February 20-March 20) Ruling planet - Neptune. Sea-green or indigo are the colours of Pisces, which is connected with the planetary energy of Jupiter. It has rulership over inspiration, matters connected with the sea and entertainment, especially the movie industry.

THE HISTORY OF CANDLE-BURNING IN HOODOO
Candle burning has roots stretching back to ancient times as a part of both religious ceremonies and magical rites. Most hoodoo practitioners, like other folk magicians, burn candles for magical effect, spell-casting, and as an adjunct to prayer, but unlike the traditional and conservative craft of making mojo bags, candle burning in the African-American hoodoo tradition has undergone considerable evolution during the 20th century.

During the 19th century candles became readily available as a commercial product, sold in general stores, rather than having to be made at home or on the farm or purchased at a special candle-maker's shop. By the early 20th century, paraffin candles, with a relatively high melting point compared to tallow candles, were transported by rail nationwide and -- with the invention of aniline dyes, they were soon made available in a number of colours.

The epicenter of new developments in ritual candle-magic in the hoodoo tradition was New Orleans, where a long tradition of Roman Catholic candle-burning combined with Spiritualism and African-American folk magic to produce an emergent style of working with candles, both for prayer and in laying tricks. This new way of working with candles soon spread to Memphis, Tennessee, and Mobile, Alabama, and, by the late 1940s, was fairly uniform throughout the South.

Probably the single most important influence on the development of African-American candle magic from the 1940s to the present has been the ubiquitous "Master Book of Candle-Burning," a paper-bound pamphlet written by Henri Gamache in 1942. Advertised in black-owned newspapers like the Chicago Defender in the 1940s and still carried today by all the major mail-order spiritual supply catalogues, this work delivers exactly what it promises -- detailed instructions on "How to Burn Candles for Every Purpose." The chapters include information on how to select candles, anoint them, arrange them on an altar, and engage in what the author quaintly refers to as "fire worship." Along the way Gamache presents a garland of anthropological tidbits about folk-magical practices from Canada, Europe, Africa, and the Malayan Peninsula, making this book a fascinating document indeed.

For those who are not familiar with the work of Henri Gamache - he was a prominent mid-20th century occult author and folkloric researcher who developed a unique Creole combination of hoodoo, Christian, Kabbalist, and Spiritualist magic. Not much is known about Gamache's personal life, but he seems to have been a man of mixed race, possibly born in the Caribbean, who lived and worked in New York City. Most of his books remain in print to this day, and all are quite interesting. In particular, his "8th, 9th, and 10th Books of Moses" is a fascinating document, detailing his theory that Moses, the leader of the Jews, was a black African, "the Great Voodoo Man of the Bible."

Gamache's candle spells are not unique to him -- similar Spiritualist candle-work was recorded in New Orleans by Harry M. Hyatt as early as 1938 (although not published until the mid 1970s). Gamache was, however, unique among mid-20th century New Orleans style candle-workers in that he used the term "Philosophy of Fire" to describe the candle burning rituals he set forth in "The Master Book of Candle Burning." That term, and his frequent references to "Zoroastrianism" allow us to identify one of his major influences, for the "Philosophy of Fire" is a system of magical working described in the writings of an earlier author named R. Swinburne Clymer. A Rosicrucian and sex magician prominent in the early 20th century, Clymer in fact wrote an entire book called "The Philosophy of Fire" in which he espoused a mixture of magical theories that embraced Spiritualism, Zoroastrianism, and sex magic.

Clymer had in turn learned most of his occult theories and sex-magical techniques from the writings of Paschal Beverly Randolph, an African-American sex magician and Spiritualist of the mid 19th century. Randolph travelled widely before the Civil War, lecturing both for the cause of the abolition of slavery and as a Spiritualist trance-medium. He is known to have lectured in New Orleans and to have offered for sale by mail-order an item he called "The New Orleans Magnetic Pillow." In 1860 or so, Randolph originated a magical order called the Brotherhood of Eulis to carry forth his beliefs; it was reformed in 1874 under the name The Triplicate Order. After Randolph's death in 1875, Clymer corresponded with his widow, Kate Corson Randolph, and received instructions from her as to how to operate his own order of sex magicians. Clymer also reprinted "Eulis!" -- one of Randolph's books on sex magic -- in 1930.

The link from Randolph to Gamache, through Clymer, is probably one of book-learning rather than direct initiation, but it is interesting nonetheless, especially in light of the fact that most modern occultists tend to identify African-American practitioners exclusively with folk-magic and to discount the contributions black people have made to the development of formal occultism and ceremonial sex-magic.

---------------------------------------------

COLOUR SYMBOLISM

Following Henri Gamache's instructions, conjure-workers of the 1940s-60s burned small free-standing pillar candles (called "altar" or "offertory" candles) of various colours to draw luck, love, and money; for protection from evil; and to wreak vengeance or exert control over others. Because many, if not most, of the spiritual suppliers then catering to the African-American market were Jews, they usually offered 7-branched menorah candle-holders to their customers, which gave hoodoo candle burning ceremonies of the period a slightly Kabbalistic cast. The colour symbolism ascribed to altar candle colours was likewise influenced by European magical traditions, admixed with remnants of African religious symbolism:

white -- spiritual blessings, purity, healing, rest
light blue -- peace, harmony, joy, kindly intentions
dark blue -- moodiness, depression, unfortunate circumstances
green -- money, gambling luck, business, steady work, good crops
yellow -- devotion, prayer, money (gold), cheerfulness, attraction
red -- love, affection, passion, bodily vigour, luck
pink -- attraction, romance, clean living
purple -- mastery, power, ambition, control, command
orange -- change of plans, opening the way, prophetic dreams
brown -- court cases, neutrality
black -- repulsion, dark thoughts, sorrow, evil, harm
metallic gold -- money, gambling luck, prosperity, success
red and black (Double Action) -- love-jinxing, breaking love-jinx
white and black (Double Action) -- to return evil to the sender
green and black (Double Action) -- money-jinxing, get money owed
black-over-red (Reversible) -- to return evil to the sender

Hi Starlover and Cat!

This is a cool string! I can share a little of my experience with spells...

First, I know for a fact that the strength of the intention is how good the spell will work. What is interesting about it is that there are many other ways of getting the same results you get from spells just by having enough desire and intention. Linda wrote about this and so does Deepak Chopra extensively.

I like spells because the ritual ingrains the intention into my psyche, which manifests the results by moving energy. If you are a powerful person (as most witches are) then your spell will work better.

I must share that I once had a Gris Gris spell performed that has literally parted the sea for me in my career. I have heard these are powerful spells and they are! I can definitely tell when something is happening as a result of that spell... it's just different than normal good fortune. Almost a willed or ordained energy working... very cool.

Anyway, I haven't gotten into Wicca much, but I definitely believe in it!

Take care,
Pearly

Hi There Folks!! This is a wonderful string.
Here is my ritual bath for cleansing one's self of negativity:

Ingredients:
several black and white candles (of equal numbers) to place around the edge of your bathtub....black candles absorb the negativity and white, protect.

Sea salts

Hyssop

Bath brush for scrubbing

Fill the tub with water at a comfortable temperature, mixing in sea salts and hyssop as the tub fills.
Standing outside the tub, take the brush and begin scrubbing your entire body....yes, entire, including hair and bottoms of feet!!
This shakes the negative little black smudges off your aura. Then get into the bath. Again scrub entirely, once, then submerge completely (yes, head too), repeat this three times total. Did I forget to tell you to light your candles before you do the dry scrub? Well, light them.
With each submersion, envision the negativity melting off of you, leaving you clean and bright, surrounded by total white light. After the third submersion, pull the plug on the drain.....see the black little smudges of negativity rapidly going down the drain. Turn on the shower to rinse any little remaining tidbits, the whole while envisioning your white lite becoming stronger and brighter.
Saying:"I command all negativity to leave me in the name of the most Holy Mother, Our Goddess. So Mote It Be!"

You will be amazed at how full of vitality and good energy, you will be!!!

This is also the bath that we use before we perform a circle for full moon or Sabat.

Hi Pearly
That's great information

Especially when you said....
"I must share that I once had a Gris Gris spell performed that has literally parted the sea for me in my career. I have heard these are powerful spells and they are! I can definitely tell when something is happening as a result of that spell... it's just different than normal good fortune. Almost a willed or ordained energy working... very cool".

Wow
What exactly is a Gris Gris spell?
I could do with that myself - Uranus transiting my 6th house has really been doing "a number" on my career for ages now
Guess he's been in cahoots with Saturn...grrrr

Great information. I hope you'll post some more

Great String!

Is there a site that lets us know which phase the moon is in?

I am a novice when it comes to magick, but I am absorbing and learning as much as I can. One thing that has been successful for me is to write someone a letter, then meditate with the letter on my altar, and then I burn the letter and ask that it be taken through the ethers to the person.

Blessed be -

Hopeful

Yes there is a site somewhere that tells you the Moon phases. I can't remember off hand where it is, but if I come across it again, I'll let you know

The Farmer's Almanac will tell you about moon phases and so will an Emphemeris. Both valuable tools of the trade.

Gris-Gris spells are phenomenal. My family members are very knowlegeable in the art of VooDoo and perform their Gris-Gris on numerous ocassions. Very powerful magick. They also make Gris-Gris bags for people to wear. The bags contain magickal herbs and "secret" things to wear around your neck, close to your heart. Now this is VERY VERY magickal. According to teachings, this is a great way to keep a lover faithful!!!!

There are also Ouanga bags, that serve a similar purpose as the Gris-Gris bags. Lots of magick out there to research and tap into!!!
