I've been having sleepless nights due to dreams such as the one below. They are all similar but different.

_____________

Last night I had a dream (one of many where I'm being chased by animals). I was being chased by a mutant snail. This is how it began.

I was in the garden, I think I was just exploring the garden, when I saw a snail slithering on a leaf. It was busy "chasing" an insect (yes, this snail was moving faster than normal). Then, after it caught the ant (I think this was what it was chasing), it ate it.

Then, the snail grew a bit. Then, there after it started eating greedily at a larger animal growing and growing, not conscious of me watching it, until it ate a bigger animal. The last animal it ate, it sucked its blood out, and ate its entrails, and as soon as it ate the last big animal (I think a cow), the snail became aware that I was watching it.

There was an understanding that the snail wasn't supposed to eat flesh, but it did, and the fact that I saw it meant that it had a witness to its transgression. So, it started chasing me, I think with the intention of eating me too. Note that, as the snail fed, it grew not only in size but in consciousness too.

Then, I ran for a while, but I was not perturbed because I somehow knew that the snail wouldn't catch me. It chased me into and through the house whose garden I was exploring (a mansion I always dream of). Then I reealized that I needed to get outside to escape the snail. Also, the snail could teleport (so could I but it wasn't fun) and if it knew where I was, it would teleport there. At one point it almost caught me but I found an opening and went outside again. When I was outside, I merely started flying away from it, something I knew I would do, something I knew the snail could not do because even if it teleported to me in the air, it wouldn't be able to stay there. And since I can also teleport, if it teleported to me, I would teleport somewhere else. I think it knew it couldn't catch me because once I was in the air, it pretty much gave up and I flew away nonchalantly.

Then, other people saw this scene and came with wooden spears and killed the mutant snail. These people were more primitive and they couldn't see me. As the snail was dying, it shriveled up into its dark green flesh, and out of that flesh popped out a red (orange-brown) coated monkey. The monkey jumped out, paused for two seconds to look at me as I was hovering in the air and went off into the bushes near by.

At that moment I realized that I knew the monkey, but I couldn't pin point how I knew it. It on the other hand knew me and I felt it did. Due to the scene being over, I went higher in the air and flew away. As I was flying I realized that I had become invisible but I realized this a little late. So, I just observed as the police were coming to the scene which I had left behind - sometimes flying amongst them but not being seen because I had suddenly become invisible.

Then I realized that I hadn't wanted to be bothered when I went invisible and that automatically that made me invisible. Before realizing that I was invisible, I was afraid that the police would see me and make a commotion, for some reason. but, since they couldn't see me, I just flew away.

________

Before that snail dream, I was cooking a creamy chicken pasta sauce in a square cooking utensil the size of a pool. It was a bother, but I knew that I had to do it. I don't know who I was cooking for, and why so much food, but there I was, flying once again, around this huge cooking utensil, stirring the "pot" and making sure that the sauce doesn't catch since it's so big.

There was a cream-white table cloth that then covered this sauce, and stuck on the sauces surface, and this was intentional. The cooking bit didn't make sense when I woke up.

The End.

The other chasing dream:

We are at the hotel (a hotel I always dream of at the coast of some country - upmarket hotel but a little run down)

I didn't belong there, but I was there, observing people do their daily routine. Then, at the corner of my eye I saw a huge snake; it was about 4m long and a foot thick. 'Scary and disgusting to me, but harmless to me in a way, unless it catches me. Again, I knew it wouldn't catch me because in all these dreams, I am faster, more aware and just different than the people around me, and the things chasing me. So, the snake came in trying not to be seen, and with it came smaller snakes and they pretty much took over the hotel. The smaller snakes were normal snakes, but the big one was made of something which looked like Lego pieces and it moved in that mechanical yet, fluid manner (robotic movement). Anyway, I knew that the snake was dangerous, if it caught me, but definitely dangerous for those around me.

Instead of going after the other people, it came for me for a while. It chased me all over and I just went in the air and flew all over the place until I lost it. It was as if I went to that hotel to find the snake and have it chase me. The other people ran out and then there was just me and the snake, chasing me all over the place and I having fun with flying tricks and trying to push my speed.

Then I grew bored, and decided to leave and for me to do that, I had to go outside so that I could fly away because I prefer flying than teleporting. I went outside and there were people everywhere. I tried to tell them that there was going to be a snake following me out of there, and that I have a head start, but that I recommend that they leave because it will definitely hurt them.

The response from the people was jaded and weird, as if they heard me a little but decided to ignore me. I tried to warn these people again. Some heard me and some didn't. Those who didn't listen to me carried on with their conversations and I shrugged and begun to hover in the air, waiting for the snake to come out. When it did, I flew a bit higher, but still in range for it, if it wanted to jump. It jumped and I went higher again, and it missed me. I was teasing it, sort of, but I was also aware that it is dangerous, like some dangerous and twisted game.

Then, the snake got distracted by the humans around and lost interest in me and started mauling those humans who didn't listen to me, and ate them, injured them, poisoned them. It was ugly.

I said to myself, very carelessly, "I did warn them" but their injuries didn't matter to me. It was like, "Oh, well... another one bites the dust. I tried to tell them, but they never listen as usual. Besides, who cares if they don't care."

I got bored of watching the whole thing of the snake having its way with them, because the snake wasn't paying attention to me, and flew away.

The End.

This is gonna take me awhile...

So, just a few thoughts, you have lots of flying going on. Flying dreams are great, and did you know that they are supposed to be more common in children than adults?

Yeah, somewhere along the line, we seem to lose our flying dreams, so, I'm glad you had one.

Flight = exhileration.
Triumph over adversity.
The higher you fly, the higher you have set your goals.
These are messages from your unconscious that in your waking life you do, indeed have the power to overcome insuperable odds, and/or beat the opposition.

I'll be back....

Wow!

I fly almost every night, Gypsee. I thought it was common. I can't wait to hear from you. Even today I slept and dreamt of flying and being chased by a mob of swordsman. I was hiding in the mountains, behind clouds, etc. to lose them. I won't go into it, but there is definitely a theme of being chased, not being caught though, and flying all over the show. If it's a group of us, which is a max of 3 people being chased, we all can fly, i.e. my friends can fly too.

A side note: My Christian friends said flying wasn't good because they said I was astral travelling (which isn't good in Christianity?) Being a Christian, myself, I don't get it. I told them that I can't stop it because it seems to be my preferred from of transportation.

Thanks Gyspee.

Hmm, I wonder why that is against Christian beliefs??

Anyway, Astral Projection feels different than flying dreams.
Your dreams were very specific and vivid.

When you astral project, it's kind of hmm, vague in a sense that you go to a specific place to see or do something in particular, but it's not so fantastical as your dream, if that makes any sense.

An example, one time my friend was having some trouble with her then boyfriend. So, she was staying at my house temporarily.
She kept trying to call him this one night, and was not getting any answer.
So, she kept wondering (aloud) if he was with another woman.
That night, without meaning to, I "dreamt" that I was at their apartment. I "saw" him, asleep on the couch, wearing a green shirt with one arm over his head, and the other arm dangling off the side of the couch.

The next morning she drove over there, unannounced, and that is exactly how she found him.

Why this happened, I do not know. How to MAKE it happen, well, I have books on that, but, it still seems to come when "it" wants to, more than when I'de like it to!! xox.

Ok, you Gyspee, have a gift. I can't do that. And yes, that sounds like you teleported (not physically, of course). Let me check those links out. And I edited above. My dreams are just dreams. I don't visit any place that exist in my awake world.

BEING CHASED

*excerpt from 'The Dream Catcher - Unravel the mysteries of your sleeping mind, by Lori Reid

"Not all dreams of running away feature a pursuer. Those that do are categorized as dreams of being chased. These are the dreams that we find highly distressing and that leave us panting for breath and with a pounding heart. Sometimes, as in the case of a school bully or a dangerous local dog, we recognize our pursuer, or at least we can sense who (or what) he or she is, which makes the source of our fears quite plain. At other times, the pursuer may be a wild animal, a dark entity, or we may have just a vague feeling of terror, so indentifying the root of our anxiety may not be so easy.

Perhaps the dream pursuer is presented in a different guise, taking the salient characteristics, if not the actual form, of whatever is causing our fear.
For example, a menacing shadow in the dream may represent a stalker in real life.
Psychologists advise that if you experience dreams of being chased (and especially if these are recurrent), you should try to reenter the dream and turn to face your opponenet.
It is even better if you can manage to shout at your pursuer, throw stones at it, or drive it away.
Facing the fear in the dream, it is believed, will help you to build up the courage to confront and overcome that anxiety in waking life."

I want to take some notes, Unmoved, and think about your dreams, but, I get a sense that this is in part, about your career.

What do you think?

ETA: This part, here, I can't do the quote thing, but..

See, this is like THAT FOOD CHAIN THING, that you and I had a discussion about a few months ago in your blog!!!

I'll keep that in mind, and try to confront the pursuer, if I am scared of him. As I said, in most of these dreams, I'm not too scared. I experience that fear that one feels when playing a game of chase. You know it is a game, you know that they won't harm you, but you scream and run as if your life depends on it.

The swordsman though were scary because I was hiding from them and I felt it being more serious than it was with the animals.

Yeah,

The only thing I am worried about, in my entire life, is my career. I'm pretty fine in other areas of my life. I can believe that my anxiety comes from there, and my subconscious plays it out as a feeling of being chased. I would buy that.
