Hello! First post, kinda nervous, but I have kind of an important question to ask... and this was the only place I could think of that would probably give me an answer. (Very active forum^^)
Do people often dream of other people before they meet them? Is this something that happens often?

I ask because I had a strange dream about a week ago... I dreamed that my aunt was getting married, and Courtney Love was the minister/entertainer... I know strange right, it gets weirder. So, it turns out Courtney wasn't ordained... so next thing I know, I'm standing outside, on the side of the road (next to a funeral home...), waiting for the real minister. Next thing I know there's this man walking up to me and he's the minister, but he's also my husband. We link arms and walk to the house where my aunt was getting married...

Umm, I should mention that I am neither married, nor engaged, or anything like that.

So, today, I went to go grab lunch from my regular lunch place. I went up to the counter and asked for a couple of cookies and muffins, and I didn't look up because I was digging around in my purse. I go to hand the guy behind the counter my money and BAM! It's the minister I was married to in my dream. He took my breath away, and my heart was all fluttery...
He probably thinks I'm a nutter, but that's okay.

I should mention that it was his first day, and I have never seen him before ever... trust me, I would remember

Does this seem kind of odd? I've always had different dreams... but I've never dreamed about someone before meeting them.

Any feedback would be amazing. Thank you for reading my ramble.

Don't be nervous we don't bite.

As for your question, I can't give you an answer on how many people dream of people before they met them. That would be very hard data to obtain I would imagine!!

But, yes I have heard of it before. I've also heard of people seeing someone they were to eventually meet while mediatating, so apparently, when you are in an altered state of some kind, you are more receptive to these kinds of occurances.

LOL @ Courtney! But her last name is LOVE.
You were going to a WEDDING.

Interesting that you mentioned a funeral home, sometimes death means new beginnings, and certainly meeting him would fall in that category.

You linked arms and walked off.
I'de say this was one heck of a dream.
I think if I were you, I'de visit his place of employ more often, because clearly you were supposed to meet him.

Good luck!!!!

Welcome, Taylor! I can't believe it: I had a dream not long before I met my partner about meeting somebody and living in a hot foreign country. We met and live in the Mediterranean now. Even the looks of my partner in that dream were the same, and we walked holding hands by a little Mediterranean cemetery. Gypsee, I have just realised the meaning of the cemetery, thanx! That was over 9 years ago.

Hi Taylor

This is so neat! And no its not odd to dream of someone you will meet in the future. For whatever reason you saw him whether it be he turns out to be someone very special in your life or whether the dream served to show you that you are honing in on a special gift...whatever the reason...no you are not a nutter

Let us know how it turns out with the cookie hunk, though

Welcome aboard!

I know this post is old, but yes I think having dreams of meeting people before you meet can be quite common and significant. I've had a total of three so far. One was a guy who worked at the Starbucks. Nothing happened when we actually met though. We both had crushes on each other, but I am very cautious so I never made a move on him. I'm glad I didn't, since he already had a girlfriend and a baby. The next one I had was of a guy sitting at a table. A year later I meet this person. It was someone at work and it was when we were getting ready to have a drivers meeting. He liked me, but I didn't like him. His feelings quickly dissolved. I had more dreams of him later after we met with him wanting to have sex with me. I was so disgusted and would not touch him. One of the dream definitions with him in it was it will take time for love to grow. But thats already over with since he's gone from the job now. The last one I had of someone famous. He was standing amongst the stars and Jupiter and told me it was the stars and God that wanted us to get married and have a baby. I'm like what the hell? I took that one seriously because God was mentioned. I've never met this actor fellow. And if I do, I'm sure nothing will become of it. Just like the other two meetings. I don't know why I had these dreams if nothing was to become of it. I think the mind just tells you what's going to happen in the near future. None of these men played significant roles once we met. Just little harmless crushes is all. If you need a good site to go on to look up your dream meaning try DreamMoods.com. They are really good.
