last night before falling asleep and with my eyes open I was suddenly seeing white stars with my inner eye (it was almost like a mix up of physical and mental seeing if you know what I mean).
It was like the sky, or the athmosphere was littered with thousands of pure white stars, giving me a very elated feeling.

Anyone knows what that was about?

In a mystical sense a dream star may represent either the passing of a great person, or the presence of a great person that has already passed.

Many ancient civilizations believed that when a great or very influential person died, they ascended to the heavens and became a star in the sky. Always there to watch over and guide those below. And to dream of a star was symbolic of being guided by the wisdom of a great person. The guidance could be in the context of the rest of the dream, ie. a specific path or solution, or a general, as an affirmation that a chosen path was correct.

Psychological interpretation of stars in dreams
More recent dream interpreters have taken a psychological approach to dream symbolism. To them stars can represent a higher state of consciousness, as in a state you are striving for, whether it be in a spiritual or mystical context. Stars in your dreams could represent the goals you are seeking.

They can also represent your desire for material goods or worldly success. They may also symbolize forces of destiny that you feel may be controlling your life. Stars usually symbolize a happy outcome.

Depending on the context of the star(s) in your dream, it could indicate you are considering putting some decision in the hands of fate, or the forces of destiny, or conversely, evaluating a decision or reaction as being to whimsically optimistic or "starry eyed." http://gaanderson.hubpages.com/hub/Dream-Interpretation-Symbolic-Star-Meaning-1

Thanks for googling that for me, AD.

I have to say though that it doesn`t really resonate with my experience. Or at least not completely.
