Two nights ago I had a peculiar dream and it still haunts me. Can you help me decipher it?

The beginning was blurry. I was hanging out with a small dog in some unknown apartment and enjoyed it. When I felt it was time to go which saddened me a little, I encountered a man who I took as the owner. Next thing I experienced was lying with him in bed, face to face, embraced. I could see his looks better now. His hair was mostly white but he didn't look very old, early 50s at most. He was muscular and handsome. He was shirtless and I had feelings for him but it was hardly sexual to me. It was like a moment of Neptunian tenderness. Then I was surprised by the appearance of a woman who seemed to be his wife. It made me feel confused and uncomfortable but, to my surprise again, she wasn't even upset. I sensed that it's been like this for a long time and she was fine with him having someone else because he felt so alone there. I understood it as she couldn't or wouldn't be there for him and he would spend a lot of time in that place. Then I saw him stand in the middle of the room, he was moving his arms. I noticed something that wasn't there before: he was missing a forearm one one side and part of his hand on the other. I took it as the explanation for why he was "trapped" there. I was surprised again and confused but I accepted his disability. Next thing that happened was him showing me his hand, complete this time, and letting me know that he got a transplant. He could even move his fingers. I was...yes, surprised and happy for him. The end.

Hello Iridia,
I think this is a dream about affection. It begins with the dog and moves towards the man. This dream brings out your more tender emotions of caring and empathy. Even the man's wife is empathetic and non-judgmental. You receive the man with his disability, and later he is "fixed" and you are happy for him. It seems to me this dream reflects on you as a person who is loving and kind, and have emotions toward others, and understanding of their frailties.

Another surprise for me, when will this end? Thank you.

Hello Iridia

I agree with Ayelet, and would add “acceptance” as a theme as well … affection and acceptance. Like the man, do you feel “trapped” in a life without affection? Perhaps due to a lack of accepting or being accepted?
