A friend wrote to say she dreamt about me! She said the dream was in New York and we were in an underground area and I was wearing punk clothes, had piercings and blue hair (unlike me in real life) and I informed her that I moved there to 'be myself'.

Wow. A little spooky.

Maybe subconsciously, she thinks your move was very Courageous. She would wish for herself to be able to 'be' who she is, like you are you, Sparkling.

And..... awww, maybe she's really "missing" you, and wishes you were there! You were/are still an important part of her life.

And..... maybe that you post this here because there's a part of you that misses her too, and you care about her feelings.

Not necessarily a 'message' that you should move there.

She's probably having body adjustments. Shift in sleep patterns, hormonal shiftings. If she's breast-feeding, that can help her actually. The baby and mom are helping each other in that exchange. New babies bring some exotic kinds of germs in those first months-- immunity system in each help each other to fend.

It's quite a change in lifestyle and priorities. Baby comes first.

If you want to do spooky?

Those little souls that come in, can be still wired to some entities and fresh energies as they open up to THIS world.

My ex and I had a 'suspended' moment where we (briefly) shared an experience upon walking into the bedroom where our newborn lay in her crib one evening. We turned on lights, and the 'scene' vanished. She was quite a powerful being, still accompanied by some non-human nonlinear living entities who seemed 'there' to serve her (almost in a queenly way, not a fairy gentle godmotherly energy way). They were her flank (as in an organized orderly group, a Force). These had been hers. (Creatures I can't even describe because I've never seen such a thing in our natural world.)

It wasn't an 'imagined' experience. It was startling real. We never really discussed this apparition-experience. There was the moment when we saw it-- I gasped, and he turned and looked at me, and I could tell that HE had seen it too, then it vanished.

One of those cognitive-distortions in reality, that the mind decides to chuck to the side, as it didn't fit the paradigm. But it was real.

I share that story with you, just out of the strange sense from the description of what she dreamed, and your reaction to it.
