Several years ago, I had a disturbing dream about a person not a plus in my life's journey, to put it mildly. Such dreams were nothing new--not regular, but often enough.

This particular dream I still can't shake. I was going to marry in a saffron-colored wedding dress. The saffron color terrified me. I made it all the way to the altar, and then refused to go through with the ceremony because the saffron was trying to warn me.

I know this sounds nuts. I've never written about it anywhere, but I began an internet search the next morning for the meaning of saffron. Of course I found references to Buddhism, but that didn't help me, because I know nothing at all about Buddhism.

Anyway, I've been reading this board and find the yellow butterfly posts remind me of this dream (or nightmare). It's relatively easy to find sites that explain basic colors. All I know is that I've never forgotten the gorgeous terrifying saffron wedding dress and wish a site existed that went into detail about colors rarely encountered in dreams, or at least rarely encountered in dream-dictionaries.

Hi Purple Lady.

Sounds like that was a Warning dream of the consequences of a choice you were presented with at that time, years ago.

Saffron is a color that is very important to Hindus too. The darker shade of saffron is worn by certain monks who have taken the vow to renunciate 'everything' that material-life has to offer.

A "wedding dress" and approaching the altar is a 'life choice'. Making a "commitment" to a relationship (personal, or business). Can signify an emotional attachment to a person, or some habit you have.

Transition, and the consequence of 'choice' that affects your future.

Also.. could deal with 'pressure' from outside people who are pressing you to do something you simply were not ready for.

{Maybe there's something going on in your own life right now that mirrors this, since the dream is being brought up for examination?}

Saffron is combines two colors.
One source I read said:
* Orange .. (positive) perseverance; or stubbornness.
* Yellow .. (positive) the mind; or fear, lack of courage.

Orange is color of the 2nd Chakra
Yellow is color of the 3rd Chakra
. . .
both of those cover the abdomen

I happen to see auras.
Long long time ago, I made notes and drawings of colors that showed up within a certain group of people I hung out with.

Orange is "hungry" .. Fast Food places often used Reds, orange, yellows, to affect the psychology of a person. Stimulates hunger.
. .
Hunger for 'drugs' can show up in orange.

It's a color of greed also.

Yellow is "intellectual" .. a teacher.
Golden yellow .. wisdom.

WOW.. thunder here Storm. YIKES!!!
Posting .. to come back later

Wow, thank you *very* much. (Hope you made it through the storm okay. Thunder/lightning scares me very badly too.)

Some of the points you make are now in my journal. To get married in a dress whose color no one else seems to notice... was terrifying. You are right in what you say about an altar symbolizing commitment.

As this dream occurred many years after I got away from this person, I think that unforgettable saffron dealt with my having opted for "the road less taken" in a different context.

In any event--very grateful for your comments. This will go down as one of the Top Ten memorable dreams of my life... all because of a color

A man I met once who could read/see auras, said that yellow meant the person had weak will.

Yellow, depending on the shade especially, has always been one of my least favorite colors. Later in life I learned people I knew who loved yellow turned out to be terribly fake, duplicitous, and even cowardly. There is even the expression "yellow belly."

Lalafortunaea,

As someone whose user name is a color , I have to say that purple's opposite on the old color wheel (yellow!) is my least favorite. In fact, now that you mention it, I don't think I've ever met anyone whose favorite color is yellow. Hmm...

I think it's unusual, though, even highly unusual, for a color to mean more than anything else in what I call a "Three Act Dream." By Three Act Dream, I mean a dream with a plot. Of course, this might just be another term for nightmare. I wish I could say I haven't had many of them in my life, but one thing is certain: I *never* had another where the color was the "main character."

Hi Purple Lady, welcome!
I wish to thank mirage for her insightful response. Lalafortunaea, it could be those people you've mentioned who love the color yellow are attracted to it since they wish to develop its more positive attributes. No color is evil by itself, or so I velieve. I personally don't like grey so much, but it can look beautiful, as in ashes, or an elegant clothing.

But back to the dream - I've read some pretty positive meanings to the saffron color. But you knew it was coming to warn you. Since this dream ocurred while you and that dream were already seperated, I feel like maybe the dream shown a negative pattern you repeated, perhaps unconsciously. It could be this pattern is the one which led you to be with that person from the past in the first place. The dream might have insinuated you need change in your life, or else you would become comitted to something or someone you didn't truly want to be.
The saffron color could be connected to spirituality and courage. It could be you were "told", somehow, to develop those strenghts in yourself which would make way for a more auspicious, blessed wedding to your own higher self.

This is what came to mind. You are more than welcome to share your thoughts, and maybe muse about what you feel brings up this past dream in the present.

Oh noooo, Lalafortunaea!!
Did you get a Reading from him?

Or! Did you ever see that man get into someone's FACE and tell-them their aura showed they were weak-willed; or had he or anyone else tell someone to their face that they were 'terribly fake, duplicitous, and cowardly??' ... all because they liked the color Yellow?

I like the color yellow.
The ordinary yellow color doesn't look good on my complexion (as a blouse or shirt), so I avoid WEARING the color-- unless it is a Winter or Bold shade.

Sometimes when I had finished a workshop "teaching", OR had listened to other teachers, WHILE "in their role" .. there can be a strong 12-inch band of Yellow in their aura.

I liked yellow in my study-room while in college. It enhanced being "intellectual" .. stimulated my mind. Along with my orange JCPenny typewriter that I pounded away at; it helped keep me awake during late-nights when Term Papers came due.

For a while in the 1980s and 1990s, Real Estate people used to say that a Yellow Home would sell before any other color. It gave a "warmth" to the outside of the home. Made it inviting.

Purple Lady!! ... So. Tell us what is behind your Purple name? Any significance?

I had seen your chart in another forum.
Wow.. We are nearly the same age. I was born in "55. There are generational planets. Your 29/28 placements ARE at the end of that-planet's trek through the zodiac it was in-- (including having finished their course of retrogrades IN their signs).

I may drop in that thread at another time.

Yeah, that Thunder and Lightning storm was intense, and came on suddenly. Made me JUMP!! .. I didn't want to lose my post, so I went ahead and submitted.

Today, we had another storm-- SAME THING a few hours ago. LOUD!! Oh my. I shut down the computer, and stop the air conditioner-- when storms come on strong, we have to prepare to lose electric power. Luckily, my roommate bought a battery power source, to help buffer against JOLTS to the system, and as a way to safely shut-down.

When I saw your Purple Lady name, and your natal chart... made me think of Leonard Cohen's song, Suzanne. ... I'm curious about your life experiences with the chart you were born with.

(music) Suzanne (Leonard Cohen, Live in London)

____________
Ayelet, I hadn't seen that you posted.

Yeah, Purple Lady said the color Orange was INVISIBLE to others.. Warning signs on the road are colored in Orange, especially for construction projects. It's about SAFETY. Being alert to CHANGES immediately ahead; traffic shifts.

Purple Lady had mentioned Buddhism... But the color of Saffron is special to All of Hinduism, and is even a part of the India National Flag.

Purple Lady--
Would you share your past (and present if any) interest in spirituality? Where did your Journey take you?

Thanks!

Hi, Ayelet (I love that screen name!), and want to say thanks for your truly great insights. You articulate exactly, and I do mean exactly, how that dress made me feel. It was kind of like a gift only I was aware of, a Caution! Caution! Don't forget your true path.

I don't believe in visitation dreams, ha, or else I'd be too afraid to sleep, but this one felt like a visitation, because the person I was at the altar with has already died.

I wasn't ready to... Hmm, guess I'll stop there

@ mirage--

Thank you for responding. It's kind of strange to be told your chart reminds someone, a longtime board member, of a song about someone who is half-crazy.

Maybe coming to this site wasn't the right choice for me after all. In this life, some of us don't color inside the lines and are wounded when we have the courage to state as much, but then made fun of.

If you're my age, you'll recall Theodore, Simon, and Alvin. You can think of me as an Alvin.

Bye, Astral Realm Board. I would like this entire thread to be removed, if à moderator can help.

omg. She's keeps changing her posts..
At first she was very "pleased" with the Suzanne song-- and then hours later she identifies with Suzanne as being a crazy person??

She does not know the background of the song--
Plus, didn't recognize that Leonard Cohen was a Buddhist monk.

I thought that since she came out from my own era of music, she would have seen that as my attempt to help her feel more Welcomed?

She's a "new" person at LL.
My first introduction to her was her asking for help on her natal chart. I remember trying to help her with posting her chart --removing the 's' from http. Graham stepped in and posted the graphic FOR her.

She had complained that people at LL were not responding FAST enough to her requests.

I spent a LOT of time looking at her chart and delineations for it. I hadn't astrologically responded yet...

Maybe something horrible is going on in her life right now.

And I wonder how much her dream of a few years ago, is now haunting her her with a memory?

Yeah, Ayelet. I thought she was a really cool person?

That dream upset her MORE than we could think?
I wonder if it represented a TRAUMA she had during it, or soon afterwards.

Your interpretations are very good, Ayelet.
You're able to say things in a shorter way.

You had "suggested" a "spiritual" line of thought for her. Maybe she has trauma around the Spiritual?

Gosh...
Hoping that she gets away from spirituality ...
Some people have been very hurt BY some of the church people associated with the major religion that I "think" she's talking about.... if she hasn't deleted that part?

Suzanne was NOT a crazy lady! It's someone who had been his friend in Canada. Creative person, who did 'special' things for him. He had suffered from deep depressions... and he noted the details about her in a "poetic" sense... not that she was Crazy??? NO. He loved her. She was special to him, in his mind.

Lots of composer-musicians created songs around women they had "dated"... even some that didn't care for them!! Of course they wrote the song from THEIR experience. Doesn't mean the story actually happened AS they said!
{I'm thinking about one right now,.. can't think of the song, .. but I remember the story behind it, as told by the mother of the girl he tried to date-- and she rejected him. Devastating him-- but the song become a VERY popular Hit. }
If I remember it, I'll come back and post it.

Like I said, Ayelet-- You're doing a Great Job

This post she made was CHANGED.
In fact, she went into EACH post she did and changed meanings/context?

Ayelet...
You know how I like to NOT whole quote people.

In this case, it might have gone better??

Edit ADD 1:55 pm

I just went over all her words once again.
I WONDER.. if she's experiencing "repressed memories" of a trauma? .. Keeps talking about nightmare, and the Saffron Color. She had talked about Religion too.. and deleted it.

I wonder if "something happened" to her .. maybe as having taken part of an eastern-Cult?

wow... {{bheart}}

Sometimes people can be offended even where no malice was intended. A miscommunication. It may happen more frequently when people who don't know each other converse for the first time through the internet. Not being able to see the other person or hear their intonation of speech may open the way to much confusion.
I will check nevertheless if I may delete this post, as this was the OP's request.

Randall's Rule is that SHE can delete her posts, but the THREAD stays.

I added the URL to her Personal Readings thread.

Apparently she was very upset about some of the "meanings" she listened to by YOUTUBE astrologers of anoretic degrees and an Unaspected Sun. She seems to be feeling "invalidated" by those astrologers who say "there's no such thing" ???
My God, she must be SOOO HURT.

Some of those Youtubers can be SOOO HARSH. Even CRUEL. IF she tends to "take things personally", then she has just been VERY HURT by other astrologers.

Sending her BIG hugs.

She does have a HARD chart...
but then too-- She has a VERY ADVANCED Soul.

And, with obvious Gifts.

I'm sorry again, Purple Lady. I do believe it was a misunderstanding. I know mirage invests a lot of herself in the forums, contributing much of her time and energy wishing to help, connect and assist, and I know she didn't invest so much in her response to you with the intention to upset you.
I cannot delete the topic, but I will close it, and you may delete what you wrote if you so wish. But the most important thing for me is hoping you would understand no malice was intended, and maybe you would feel safe to come back.

Best wishes.
