i don't recall much buzz about global cooling in the 70s, though there was some talk it seemed to go nowhere. i DO remember that solar power got squashed by the then lobbyists for the power companies who never imagined there would be so many people ****** off about DIRTY energy...but i don't remember anyone getting rich off predictions of cooling then. there are still quite a few of them around though you would never notice with all the shrieking about warming and alarming. because the natural end to a long and remarkable warming phase is usually at least a "little" ice age, which comes on faster and causes more havoc than warming usually does. That's about the smartest thing I have ever seen you say. Yes, between each ice age is a warming period. The last little ice age hit in only a year. It moved in rather fast. But like the warming period, there is nothing we can do to change it.IP: Logged |

People should be glad the earth is warm at all and should enjoy being alive at this opportune time in history. After each little ice age, a brief warming period follows, and we can no more do anything about it than we can do anything about an ice age. A heat wave kills a few who get dehydrated, but the cold can wreak real havoc. Green activists should be happy to see CO2 levels rise, because it is indicative of a lush green planet teeming with plant life. Any third rate biologist can tell you that the three crucial elements to life are water, oxygen, and CO2. The mere idea that otherwise intelligent people think CO2 is a poison just shows that no one is immune to media brainwashing. Not to mention that human contributions to CO2 levels are nominal. Volcanoes are the main contributor to CO2 in the atmosphere; one big eruption releases more CO2 than all of mankind in our entire history of cars, BBQ grilling, factories, and everything else we do combined for our entire time alive on earth. Furthermore, any third rate meteorologist can tell you that heat rises, it doesn't fall (For that matter, a second grader can tell you that, DUH!), and CO2 doesn't store heat. What a bunch of freakin' crackpots! No, let me take that back. They know what they are doing. They are lying to get at those billions in grant funding. Drop the funding, and we will see a quick change in the "consensus."------------------

yea i see what you mean,but laws are funny things and theres alot they dont necessarily enforce,like here in tennessee theres a law that reads"it is hereby unlawful to shoot any animals from a moving vehicle except whales." no joke XD, but i'm not too concerned unless they start abusing that law,it will be interesting to see what they do with it.
