I am in the middle of reading gooberz, and wondering why linda's grandpa called called her "yellow wax". I just got past the ants part. IP: Logged |

Yikes! I'm too lazy to delete them. I didn't even click to post it. It posted itself! Weird. Anywho, wasn't that line just the saddest thing? I sobbed like a baby when I read it. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." nah... im sure that we do, im just really poor. i live on a small disability pension. my husband is finally working now but all his money goes to his lodging in wa state, and getting to work, and saving for immigration. he cant even send me any for food. *shrug* im used to the life. i feel like a monk. doesnt mean i like it though. im sick of being effing poor. trying to think of a career i can do, but well, my little disability issue is pretty complex. i have ptsd (post traumatic stress syndrome). ~ptsdfaery ------------------ where i end and you begin there's a gap in between there's a gap where we meet where i end and you begin and i'm sorry for us the dinosaurs roam the earth the sky turns green where i end and you begin i am up in the clouds i am up in the clouds and i can't and i can't come down IP: Logged |

I didn`t understand it either so I made up my own reason Yellow is the color of radiant sun. The solar 3rd or heart chakra ( depends on your belief). Then I read this and attributed it to Linda YELLOW: analytical, discipline Sun, dispel evil , scientific mind ,overcomes ignorance ,artistry ,wisdom, creativity , confidence Sunny, exhilarated, mental, power, expectancy, tenacity. Wax, a pliable substance with the greatest potential to be all it can be. juniperb

thanks for the replies everyone. Anafaery, don't worry, gooberz does not go into that much detail about the yellow wax (I thought of ear wax too), but I like juniperb's explanation.IP: Logged |

For Yellow Wax And The Ants is probably one of the most memorable phrases from Gooberz. It's a tear-jerker, though. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Being on a fixed income (boy I'm only 34 and I'm talking like a senior already..) I have only scraped up the cash to purchase two of Linda's books at the bookstore, but I own 5. I have a 2 soft and 1 hardcover edition of Love Signs. (Her absolute best work in my opinion. Really her opus and one of the most insightful volumes on the nature of human relationships in print today if not THE most insightful and YES I include the Bible in that estimation. The Bible is certainly a greater repository of wisdom, history and light, but for understanding the dynamics of human interaction, there is absolutely nothing like Love Signs..hands down. Can you tell that I can't say enough about this book?) I have soft covers of Star Signs and Sun Signs. I do not have Venus Trines at Midnight which I want desperately and I do not have a copy of Gooberz which I think I would like very much for the collection. So I browse the thrift store shelves. I'm always present on "new stuff" day to make sure that I'm there to snatch the occasional astrological tome off of the shelf before it gets snapped up (and they DO get snapped up, usually within hours of hitting the shelf or less) and I'm always looking for my astrology book "grail": a work by Linda. I know the chances of actually FINDING a copy of Venus Trines at Midnight in a thrift store are like the chances of catching a raisin dropped from the Eiffel Tower in your mouth, but I enjoy the search and the fisherman in me knows that the longer the wait, the sweeter the prize.IP: Logged |

If anyone should have Gooberz, it's you. It is literally Linda's Happiness Poem. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |
