Sometimes the days seem neverending
Sometimes its a sweet surprise
Others I would pay the Sun to rise....
To come up already, legs unsteady
I weep for it to end
or maybe begin
Sometimes months seem so fast
when did it sweep me in its grasp
if time is truly illusion,
as they say,
Why does it seem like yesterday
is achingly gone
and far away.

The crutch of death has come to call
reminding me,
(I feel so small)
Of important matters
as it seems,
while your poor heart shatters
The sadness screams
So brave, so solid, standing tall
while her lifelong love's body
(he looked so small)
was carried out and put to rest
He always did love her the best.
And so
upon reflection,
My five year marriage,
(it seems so small)
needs some kind of ressurection.
Our backs against the wall.
The bones are there,
beneath the excuses.
Love is still there. Still strong,
and though I want to run
I need to see there is no one
there is no one person
there is not one person,
besides me
(I am so small)
that can build the forts I dream of
that can survive from that height of fall
But too much reaching feels so good
at times
(and not usually when it should)
But he can build it with me
(a goal in sight,
sharing now seems rather right.)
So I offer renewed hope
a sparkling smile
amidst lengths of rope
to hang ourselves, when falling down?
or lariats lowering us to the ground?

This was a very beautiful poem, love. You must have felt it when you wrote it, because I felt it when I read it.

Love,

I need this at the top to remind me to stop writing the other kind... or to stop wanting to write the other kind.

pix - this brought a tear to me when I read it again I actually visualised a fairy / pixie full of love, hurt by the implications of cruelty in the world. (It was just my visual image since I have a deep affinity with fairy folk) How pure spirits are saddened by the hurt they see but can't mend, and affected by the hurt they feel, trying to mend. It's how we define art that people share with us I guess that is beautiful too

This poem is so, so brilliant!
Pix, you are a poet so true to the word that every emotion becomes visible.
This is undoubtedly my favourite poem of yours.
Your genius is like your heart…infinite!

This is the part that gets me:

Sometimes months seem so fast
when did it sweep me in its grasp
if time is truly illusion,
as they say,
Why does it seem like yesterday
is achingly gone
and far away.
