Bouncy blonde hair &
her daddy's beautiful blue eyes
this angel hid in his arms.

A shy smile that grew
and took my heart with it.
I can see her playing
peek-a-boo with me
in the truck.

Tiny little feet
that carried her
everywhere at once.
She couldn't seem
to take it all in.

The first time I
held her my heart caught
in my throat.
It felt right,
like when I held her
daddy, only different.

"Datie, this my dog Harry."
is how she introduced me to
Larry the dog.

Tiny little feet
that carried her
into my heart.
La Femme Petite.

Mon coeur de ange.
Angel of my heart.
Just like her daddy.

Tiny little fingers
that held my hand
to go see the fishies.
So small yet so perfect.

Now in her time of pain
I long to gather her close
and take it all away.
To kiss it and make it better.

She is something
I've never seen before.
She is an angel
on this earth.
A gift from God.

that brought her to me.

I cried when I wrote this, but I don't think it quite captures exactly how I feel about this little girl. I don't think there are any words to tell you what this child and her father mean to me.
