In the lonely night, the shadows are falling
It's too cold to sleep, and the nightmares are coming
My body feels heavy, full of ragged steel
The future is of despair, my faith's been sealed
I'm covered with shadows, can't feel the spark
I'm just a renegade, a man in the dark
I've lost my sanity, I'm well off the rails
The sickness has taken me, and I'm looking pale
She wrote me a poem, and she did it with care
It doesn't even matter, I just can't be there
Where the stars are all broken, where pain left a mark
Scars for the lonely, for a man in the dark
I've been on the bottoms, through the desert of stone
And I've forsaken, all the things I've known
This world's made of lies, Wanna jump to the sea
I'm chained with this burden, I will never be free
The angels have drifted, My prayers are just barks
There's no place in heaven, for a man in the dark
I was born in this hellhole, where salvation sinks
And I'll drown in my inferno, Oh, I'm on the brink
My nights are all empty, I can't no longer dream
And the place I'm roaming, it's a nightmare scene
I'm the feast of the crown, the prey of the sharks
And no one's waiting, for the man in the dark
