I use my pendulum a lot. Have you tuned yourself into it? This is done by asking it what "yes" and "no" mean to it. I follow the Huna method, the ancient Hawaiian Kahuna Shaman ways. They believe it is our Higher Self that is contacted by the Basic or Lower Self via the Middle Self (conscious mind).

For me, I get a clockwise motion for yes, a counterclockwise motion for no and a sort of slanted back and forth straight line for maybe. But, they say everyone gets different motions that are particular to the individual.

A long time ago, I belonged to a group called Spiritual Frontiers Fellowship. SFF for short, anyway, Sid Lonegren and Terry Ross were frequent speakers and being a board member, I got to go to the luncheon for them after their lectures. Terry Ross was then the president of The Dowser's Assoc. and he was writing a book. He showed us a very neat experiment with his pendulum and a drawing he made on a napkin. He drew the circle of Stonehenge and aligned it with North and then placed his pendulum above it and the pendulum swung in very wide circles and very strongly. We each drew our own Stonehenge on our napkins and repeated what Terry did, it was amazing. I bought myself a miniature replica of Stonehenge later, and I still every once in awhile use my pendulum to see the swift energy it moves to when I place it above the replica.

So, keep working with your pendulum, you will be amazed, I promise. I keep mine close to me at all times, actually, I carry one in my purse, have one at my bedside and several scattered over the house, as once you have learned to attune to one, you can use any kind, because you are actually the instrument and the pendulum is just your tool. I do have a favorite one, though, it is a rose quartz point on a chain.

Like Donna I carry my pendulum and second all she said. Once you have attuned your pendulum with yourself, when asking your questions try and be as relaxed as you can....being stressed or overly emotional can lead to confusing results, which I found out when I first started Make sure your questions are phrased in a way to receive a Yes or No.
Give yourself time and expect to receive truthful answers and you will...like Donna said the pendulum is a tool you are using to tap into your own wisdom...you already know the answers somewhere within you!

Your pendulum is a great instrument to receive information about anything you need to know. You only need that connection with it, through several hours (or days) of practices and efforts. ItŽs worth, due to the results youŽll obtain.

My favourite is the black pendulum, described at "Pendulum divination" topic, a tool I use with a lot of purposes: disease diagnoses; to find lost (or hidden) objects; searches with a map; etc. Keep trying and youŽll see what a great help it is.

I started using a pendulum a few months ago too - so i'm very much a beginner However I have noticed a few things:
I seem to get inconsistant results when i'm upset, emotional or angry - just like Mystique said. I try and meditate before i use it as well - just to clear my mind for the highest good...

I also took a LONG time to find the right pendulum for me - have u asked the pendulum if it is the right one for you? I made a few, bought others, and changed them over till i got one that felt utterly right for me.

Also ask if the pendulum will give you the right answers - perhaps you have picked up an uncooperative crystal

i have a strong pull to bloodstone...i just feel it resonating with me. maybe that's the reason it works so well as a pendulum for me.

i had a rose quartz pendulum, but i didn't identify with it as i did the bloodstone. i gave it to someone to whose personality it seemed better suited.

i would imagine with a quartz crystal pendulum you get a lot of clarity and insight.
