Cards are awesome. The visuals are so captivating. I thought we could have a thread discussing the images of the cards.

For instance the Strength card

we see a young man with a bat raised high above his head. He looks focused and slightly
ticked off, ready to swing the bat, while the lion is ready to pounce,in the position of attack. Both of them are looking in the same direction and I feel at the same thing.

The Fool is funny

The most intriguing card is the lovers

According to the book, this card's real meaning was diffused throughout the multiple reproduction of this card. It represents the promise of love represented by the hand shake. It could be a pact of love/friendship the noble sentiment that binds two people together.

The cards are interesting to look at, but to be honest they donīt really "speak" to me, if you know what I mean.
They are like paintings I like to look at, but that`s about it.

I find it interesting though how we can react so differently to different tarot suits.

Have you read with these cards?

@Ceri

Can totally relate to what you're saying. Plus it's advisable to remember these were tarocchi used for entertainment purposes, i.e. card games, so divination usage is not what it was meant for. This same circumstance should come to mind re: marseille, quite a few people say they are but images

It's closer to playing cards but with trumps I'd speculate.

The whole point of divinatory decks is making visible divinatory symbolic elements.

The Visconti trumps are beautiful though and surely they must have inherited this symbolism from elsewhere. I don't really buy the Egypt myth but whatever maybe it's true

I haven't read with this deck, so no way of knowing if I could pick up energies from these images. Their historical value I have no intention of denying

yeppers. I connected immediately. Told you I was practicing CC's right? Did a lot of them with it. Since I got them I don't want to use any other tarot decks lol! Really they are awesome. Till now I haven't connected with any tarot decks as quickly as I did with this one. Those images are from the net, but my deck's images are fabulous. It's as if they will pop out of the cards!! I paid a real fortune for this

Maybe we do connect best with our first deck?

My first deck was the RW and after many years I returned to it, and I find it very much "to the point".

Though I love other decks as well, strong coloration, rich colours, it turns out that I only connect with those that are RW-based.
But then these are most decks I have

I love my Marseille deck. Took me awhile to connect with it though, before giving readings that is.

But with this new one, it was almost immediately after I bought it.

I have to post pictures of the other cards when I find some free time.

come to think of it, too many decks on ze market are Rider-based. i wonder what the drastic need for that was, they are essentially the same deck, just make searching through the list of decks denser. i might be wrong but only garments and decor seem to vary. also the illustrator's talent is of a different scale every time.
