I tried Tarot readings last in August and consistently got sword cards for my relationship at a time when there was a natural break between J and me - he was visiting family and taking a break from the internet. I think the cards were 'contaminated' by or seemed to reflect my fears, more than anything. Anyhow things returned to normal till a few days ago when I posed rather brutal questions via email about where we were headed, wanting to know if he and I were on the same page. And I am holding out in this instance until I get some clarity on the matter. Of course I am inwardly anxious as this may bring things to an end. So, tried a three card spread and got: Past- 2 of cups Present - 6 of pentacles Future - 10 of pentacles Apart from the 2 of cups, these cards seem odd (money and prosperity related) or hugely optimistic. Could someone please offer a possible interpretation? I wonder if I was too muddled to choose cards. IP: Logged |

Hi First thing I notice is the upward numbers (2, 6, 10). Culminating. Then the amount of pentacles of course, which relates to security & the material world among other things. What was your exact question? Without a question I see the past shows the love connection, but now he seems to divide his time with you. There is some sharing & not the right amount of give & take, altough this usually is agreement (a certain non equality between partners) both agree to. Pentacles are rather "fixed". The 10 of pentacles can go both ways, but I mostly see it when someone doesn't want to change and/or thinks the backgrounds are very different. It's one of the most "secure cards" too, that of family values, but ten is also the number of endings. So it might be, with the upward numbers it may be running it's course. The question arises, if this person doesn't already have a family which he wants to put attention in. Is this the same man? I still have the feeling something isn't quite clear/seen clearly here/some secrets. Even if I can see the click & emotions in the past. Just some thoughts on your cards. Always go with your own intuition too. IP: Logged |

Thank you Twirl. Yes, it is the same guy, who is intent on doing things his way, keeping himself as a safe distance from a 'real' relationship, or so it appears. I have been told by psychics in the past that he was badly let down in a relationship, and this is his self-defence strategy. Well, it isn't fair to me, not the right amount of give and take as you rightly said. So, at last, I have adopted a less compromising stance. His work is the thing that takes up his time hugely and relationships come second. He is trying to save money to go independent next year. There may be things hidden about him but no other family in his life. I'm afraid I didn't have an exact question - just wanted the cards to show what the future would hold. IP: Logged |

I tried the relationship cross recommended on this page http://www.psychic-revelation.com/reference/q_t/tarot/tarot_spreads/relationship_cross.html and got this:1. Querent's position in the relationship - Ten of swords 2. Querent's partner's position in the relationship - Ace of cups 3. Basis for the relationship (the past) - High Priestess 4. What lies between them right now (the present)- The World 5. The future of the relationship - The Chariot Will now browse the net to look up meanings and see if this makes sense. Again appears positive and makes me wonder if the reading outlook becomes more positive based upon our mood or expectations. Can it even just play along with us?

OK got so far with this. I chose some possible meanings from Keen.com. This site is quite comprehensive in that it shows different meanings for the various positions and also for combinations. 1. Querent's position in the relationship - Ten of swords - that you have reached bottom, there is nowhere to go but up OR the Ten of Swords can represent needing to talk an idea to death before inspiration on a new way of doing things suddenly arises (Yeah!) 2. Querent's partner's position in the relationship - Ace of cups – at worst, could this mean that I view my partner as a soulmate – one I am willing to give up too much for OR that he has a deep meaningful connection with me. OR he feels that we have this connection. 3. Basis for the relationship (the past) - High Priestess The High Priestess here shows that this has been based on intuition and research (astrology and tarot ), or possibly also driven by the unconscious. 4. What lies between them right now (the present)- The World The World in the present position - you should be careful not to sabotage your recent gains out of anxiety. (Here I think the recent gains emerging from being upfront and uncompromising about what I want). Combined with the Ace of cups, this can indicate that a new level of emotional satisfaction is on its way. 5. The future of the relationship - The Chariot The future is the position in which The Chariot card exerts its strongest energy. When this card is in your future, your reading can fill you with confidence that a goal you seek is attainable, a battle for control will be won. What do you think Twirl? The battle for control sounds about right. IP: Logged |

I must say I'm just not that taken with what the cards show/have showed. I feel like you are led astray It wouldn't surprise me if he will say he will "do these things you ask" with the 10 of pentacles, but I doubt he will act accordingly. Chariot is someone that chooses for himself. Could it be that there literally is a world apart? IP: Logged |

What you say is very likely. Just goes to show that it's very easy to delude oneself. In this instance, I was selecting bits from the texts provided according to how I saw it. Well, the matter seems to be taken out of my hands as he isn't responding to my request. That's it then. A relief in a way but also hideous. IP: Logged |
