So I'm a beginner to Tarot - been doing it for several months - and I'm struggling with my decks. I started out by using the Fool's Dog Tarot app and it's wonderfully accurate. I've bought 3 physical decks now, but I rarely feel like the readings are very accurate. I keep thinking I need to try another deck, because it has seemed to improve as I've explored beyond the traditional Rider Waite. I have the mini albano waite deck which is very intense with its colors but feels good in the hands, and the Aquarian deck, which some cards I like a lot and connect with but others have very dead lifeless looking faces to me. I stumbled across the Wild Unknown deck and I'm pretty entranced so far but I feel stupid buying another $40 deck and $20 guidebook when I've struggled so much with the other decks.

I'm not sure what my question is, but does anyone have advice on connecting with decks and learning to shuffle/know when to draw?

Most decks are either Rider-Waite based or Thoth inspired. So I would try working with one of those most, because that's were most of the meanings come from. This makes it easier to understand future decks. Think you might need a bit of patience It's a lot of cards & a lot of meanings & you'll notice you will gradually improve So just keep exploring & working with them & it will become more apparent
How about the Robin Wood or Universal? They stay close to Waite & might connect a bit better.
Wild Unknown is gorgeous, agreed, but I think it may be too difficult when just starting & wanting to learn.

I'm definitely getting a hang of the card interpretations by using the app, it's just something weird like the decks aren't connecting. For example, I've been doing a lot of readings about similar things, and certain cards have been popping up in a way that is starting to form a narrative. That doesn't seem to happen when I use the decks that I bought...

Does that make sense? I may try that spread you suggested...

Did the new deck spread on all of my decks. I feel like one deck has really bad energy and the Aquarian deck I'm not trusting too much just yet. Maybe I should cleanse these two? The app on my iPad gave me the best spread...it's so weird how in tune I am with a digital deck...how is that even possible? I can post the spreads later.

Still really want to try the Wild Unknown! It's driving me nuts...

If you feel particularly drawn to one deck, I say go for it.

Post your meet your deck readings.
