I'd say he's is in a need to move on (my advice to him) ; however, I think he still lingers,pining away.

Feelings. Still there, even though he knows he should move on. There could be a female person (not necessarily with romantic intentions) who tries to drag him out of his emo-slum.

5 pips, then 6 : natural progression,if of different suit. So, the transition isn't as smooth.

Alternatively, you could be Queen. And his regrets have to do with yourself, moving on (with a heavy heart/mind).
