Topic: Randomly began thinking about my ex and then...

I was randomly thinking about my ex earlier today and then I got onto Facebook and saw an article about how there had apparently been a stabbing near his alma mater today (a small liberal arts school in Boston that not many people know about and has never made headlines). Here is the article: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/report-multiple-people-stabbed-near-emerson-college-boston/ I have often had many thoughts about a person randomly pop into my head before something connected to them specifically appears in the news the next day or within hours of them randomly popping into my head. This happened with this particular ex MANY times. I have seen his somewhat uncommon name and heard it numerous times on random days when he's the furthest thing from my mind. Every so often I also randomly happen to stumble across an article about something specifically related to him like his home state or the company he works for etc. Was thinking about him today and then reading about stabbings at his alma mater only hours later something that may have been a sign?
