I am impatiently awaiting the arrival of Gooberz. So, as a way of pacifying my impatience, I have been reading bits about it on here...plus reviews. It is frequently said that to get through the book without weeping is impossible. I do not often cry, especially not over books or films so am wondering how likely this is for me. I hope it happens How many people here did?

Another thing; how important is it to read Star Signs first? I will have to obtain a new copy if so because mine is buried in an attic as well as falling apart! I read bits but wasn't ready back then.

You'll understand the more esoteric parts better if you read Star Signs first. I dare say it's impossible to read Gooberz and not cry (both happy and sad tears), unless you're the tin man.

About five minutes after I wrote that entry I ordered a new copy of Star Signs

Goodness, now I am even more intrigued by Gooberz.

Don't let the size of Gooberz intimidate you. It reads very fast due to the poetic format of the words. Just take it one Canto at a time.

The tears, yes! I went through my fair share of tissues! I remember how powerful some cantos were, even one line, would knock me over.

Linda's loss of her children made me actually sob. And for Yellow Wax and the ants...

Currently I am confused but hope to soon be able to join in with the reviews.

I'm so pleased that it's arrived though

You can never truly understand why we adore Linda so much until you read Gooberz. And for those who have read it, the connection is impossible to put into words.
