I've had some very, very specific dreams that came true right away I'm also experiencing fleeting thoughts that come true, often in the same day.

What's happening?

Can you point me in the right direction to find some good info on psi-functioning (you mentioned this term to me before)?

Oh yes, PLEASE! I have experienced this sort of thing for years, but never knew there was a name for it. (I've always just called it 'strangeness'.)

Oxy, thanks for bringing this up. Now where's Ra? Ra? Ra, where are you?

Psi-functioning is simply a very general term that includes psychic phenomenon of all types - from precognitive dreams to psychokenesis.

Technically, I would say that you both are experiencing a form of precognition. I have found this particular kind of precognition to occur in cycles in my life. It feels to me like the mind is just a step ahead, sending back thoughts to the brain about what is coming around the corner. Nothing dramatic, just everyday stuff.

I do not know why this happens, only that it does, and that it gives us an opportunity to experience a little of how it feels to have this expanded awareness.

There are ways to "practice". One of my favorites is to imagine or visualize yourself walking in front of yourself, perhaps by ten paces. As you visualize this, imagine that you are shifting your awareness into the you in front of you. Imagine what the you-in-back looks like from the perspective of the you-in-front. If this is done effectively (and it takes patience/practice) you may find that your awareness actaully shifts to the forward 'you' - if only for a fraction of a second. In time, this perspective can be extended. And you may find that you are aware of both perspectives simultaneously, seeing through the eyes of each of the 'yous' at the same time ... bilocation, a very useful state of awareness.

Once this is somewhat grasped, it is only a matter of changing one's perspective again in order to gain access to the future - or past. Instead of visualizing yourself in front of yourself, visualize yourself a few moments into the future. Then, visualize yourself a few moments into the past. Send a thought to the 'you' in the past. Send a thought to the 'you' in the future. Experiment. Playing around in this way opens doors in the mind, doors which can link you to wherever you want to go.

Fascinating subject.

Yeah, awesome stuff! I can't do it of coarse, but it sounds great. The "worst case scenario" could be what happened to Paul Attreides (sp) in Dune where his eyes were burnt, but he didn't need them anyway. If you were, say, a tibetan monk that meditates for weeks at a time, couldn't you effectively send thoughts back to yourself in a stream, then maybe project a different consciousness to then add to the stream, and hence create a Denial of Service to the initial you by jamming that persons signals so they can't process anything due to their brain being over stimulated by all the incoming streams? Herein lies the paradox. How to you "fork" into other consciouses if you were jammed by those consciousnesses in the future? Do you guys believe that God might have a say in these sort of things? Like, what if you "scanned" someone elses consciousness to find an "opn port" say, they were thinking of horses - a love of theirs. Then say you tried to send them thoughts of horses clouding a "trojan horse" whereby that thought process if "opened" by their consciousness could reveal a back door into their mind, or an inlet where you could fork other consciousnesses to all flood that horse port? Do you reckon God would prevent this sort of thing, or that persons higher self? You know, I had an image once of a three (well four including time) dimensional cube (or sphere) that people could go to astrally to learn things - like a library, or indeed the internet. But see, it would somehow need firewalls or something to prevent all the nasties out their geting into your thoughts, ya dig?

Just some thoughts while I'm waiting for some alterations,
Dean.

Don't worry Dean, there are definately some sort of safe-guards in place to prevent this, at least most of the time, although I cannot explain what they are. Perhaps it works on something similar to a vibrational key.

Herein lies the paradox. How to you "fork" into other consciouses if you were jammed by those consciousnesses in the future?

Are you familiar with quantum physics, of the parallel universes school? In the parallel universe model there is no longer a paradox and resolving the issue is nothing but a matter of expanded awareness of other probable realities.

Hi Oxychick. That sort of thing has happened to me all my life. If it is any comfort, it seems to come in cycles. I will have lots of precognitive thoughts and dreams for a while, then everything goes back to "normal" for a bit. Don't you find it really exciting when something happens and you suddenly realize "Hey, I dreamed this!" No matter how often it happens, it still makes the hair stand up on my arms. Your mind must be trying to bring something important into your consciousness.
