YAY I finally got a set of tarot cards!! When I was a lot younger (maybe 12?) I had a set of tarot cards I was absolutely intrigued by. They came in a magazine I used to get, you know kind of kiddish. But they worked pretty well, surprisingly.Well I got them for christmas from my grandmother, and she told me to be careful with them and study all about them before I did a reading (for myself). Of course I didn't really study them (still a little in doubt), I just flipped to the different spreads and I tried the one that seemed easiest. I asked a question about my boyfriend & me. The card I got that represented him was the Knave of Chalices. That card shows a young man (up to early 20's--he is 20) who has dark hair and is a water sign. My boyfriend has dark hair and his sign is Scorpio. The card I got that represented me was The Empress. That card showed a fair-haired woman of an air sign, who is a homemaker. It also showed pregnancy and fertility ( ). I still live at home, but My mother just got a new job so I have to take care of my siblings by myself for a few extra hours. What do you guys think about Tarot Cards? Any stories?

I personally haven't gotten into them, but you know, Through the Looking Glass is all about Tarot. Aselzion knows his stuff about them. Dean. ------------------ Always think compassion... Hey man, nice to see you! Didn't think you read around these parts too much. Can I ask you something about Tarot? I always wondered, instead of asking questions and having that comfy kNowing feeling, do you think it's prudent to control your future with the knowledge of different paths Tarot may yield? The closest I've come to Tarot is to buy a Mayan card pack which is a little different, but I haven't used them so much. My New Years resolution is to seriously consider learning Reiki. Have you ever delved into that? Dean. IP: Logged |

Greetings...Dean... Tarot is simply a tool, albeit a very potent one. The Power of the Tarot is multifold. It may be used as a method of Divination, or it may be explored as a jumping off point for Meditation and/or Pathworking. It has come to us from with a wealth of correspondences, from Astrological, to Qabalistic, to Color and Sound even. Like Astrology,it can provide guidance along a POSSIBLE Timeline. It may present us with information about several Timelines, if we have the ability to follow its lead there. What we DO with that information is of course our Free Will Choice. So I do believe that it is helpful along those lines. Does that make sense? Peace... In the Sysytem of Correspondences that works for ME personally, I allocate them as follows (as per the Teachings of Paul Foster Case, one time member of the Order of The Golden Dawn, and founder of Builders of the Adytum) : http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum18/HTML/000057.html This has always worked for me in my practical experience. That however does NOT mean that it will work for everyone. I feel that there are "many mansion" in the House of God... all roads will lead the reverent traveler to his or her own Truth. I say look at them all, experiment with them in your own studies/readings/meditations, and see what works for YOU. Hope that helps. Bright Blessings... Great quote, Aselzion! I haven't thought of that one for a long time. It's very nice to see your application of it. ------------------ Sincerely, divinia What wisdom can you find that is greater than kindness? -- Jean-Jacques Rousseau IP: Logged |
